You know it’s fresh when the mini excavator is still parked next to the trail! Brewer Park just keeps getting better, COGGS really utilized the natural bedrock on this rework and I hope they can continue to build out Brewer Park into its full potential, lots of unused terrain still with plenty of elevation leading all the way down into Casket Quarry ⚰️
Thanks Brian, Home Brew is one of the best trails in Duluth and still my favorite blue trail there. Used to ride it all the time as a UMD student, starting small and slowly progressing on the huge variety of optional features. The addition of the new Snaggletooth trail and the rework of Lollygagger keep adding to this amazing terrain, hope COGGS can keep building out Brewer into its full potential, lots of unused terrain and good elevation there!
I rode a bit of the rework with my son. So much fun man! Lollygagger was great with the kid and he crushed it on a lot of Home Brew features. Ton of fun riding up there and Home Brew is just such a good all around trail!
Home Brew is the trail I’ve probably ridden the most in Duluth, so many laps up there on my Trek Marlin when I was learning to ride as a UMD student. Tons of optional features to progress on, your son will be shreddin’ Kissing Booth on the new bike soon!
Great video bro! I love the Brewer park! Lollygagger is so sick now! COGGS did amazing work on it! Kissing Booth is one of my favorite DH tech trails for sure! My first step towards riding DM and B.O.B. like you said. The up KB is tough too! A good test of conditioning and control! Thanks for making content to get me through the coming winter!
Gotta ride all we can before the winter! COGGS always does great trail work, and Lollygagger went from a good to great trail with these improvements! I used to constantly ride Home Brew as a UMD student and it’s still my favorite blue trail in Duluth. Kissing Booth is one of the best descents around and good practice for DM and B.O.B
I've been getting that same noise from the Fox Float X which I think is a variation of the X2. I believe the warranty period is over so shelling out the money for a service is probably all I can do at this point.
The squelching noise is when damping oil is mixed with air. I’m not sure about the Float X, but the 2021-2023 Float X2’s had a design flaw where that would constantly happen. Fox had so many issues with the 21-23 X2 they gave up repairing them and gave me a 2024 X2 under warranty when I sent mine in for a service. Hopefully a service fixes your Float X, it’d always a good thing to do in the off-season
Really sick video of some of the best trails in the state! Just rode the DT and was loving the newly renovated Lollygagger - so fun! Really enjoyed hearing the history of your experience on that Home Brew drop, as well as the camera work! 😂. Great vid Andrew!
It’s always fun to look back at that drop and see the progression, was pretty nervous for that one and looked at it for awhile before sending it on the ol’ Trek Marlin. Spent a lot of time in college riding that bike around Brewer Park. Hope you had some good fall colors for your recent traverse, that’s an epic ride!
COGGS always knows how to utilize the amazing natural bedrock they are blessed with in Duluth! Everything on it worked great, although they might have to change the green circle rating! 🟢➡️🟦
Nice video, man! You did an excellent job of showing the Home Brew area trails and what they have to offer riders of all abilities. It’s too bad it rained, because you just can’t push it in those conditions.
Brewer Park is a great trail system, and it’s even better now with the upgraded Lollygagger trail by COGGS. Had a lot of fun riding Home Brew before progressing up to Kissing Booth when I was learning to ride in Duluth. Snaggletooth ladder drop was treacherous with the wet conditions, I already wrecked earlier on a simple wooden bridge!
@@AndrewGehn Andrew Mattevi and I rode Keene, Lollygagger and Home Brew today, but we skipped Kissing Booth and Snaggletooth. It was pretty slippery in areas and we didn’t want to risk a crash. Did you see the new drop on Home Brew that they’re building? It’s a large rock with a slight downslope that has a gap to a landing. Fun feature. There’s a huge berm after the drop that sends you down the existing trail. We rode Home Brew clockwise and the drop was in the flow.
@@Randy_Johnson Did not see a new drop on Home Brew, COGGS really just is on a building spree lately! I’ll definitely have to ride that new drop, Home Brew is one of my favorites! Good choice on skipping the slippery features, I already wrecked on that Home Brew bridge and fortunately was okay.
@@AndrewGehn We rode the drop again today. Rudy O’Brien, the trail builder, was working on that area again today and he told us to hit the feature. We all did, including Rudy. Buttery smooth!! It’s not a huge drop, but it’s very smooth and a fun b-line to take right off the main trail. There are two large berms to take right after the drop. They send you right back on the main trail. There’s also a nice kicker gap jump before you get to the new drop. It’s right after the open field area that crosses the Superior Hiking Trail on Home Brew if you’re riding clockwise on the trail. The feature would be ridden counterclockwise.
@@Randy_JohnsonThanks for all the updates on the trail building happening in Duluth! Home Brew is still my favorite blue trail there so I will definitely have to ride any new features on it!
Leaves were slippery, but not as much as the wooden bridges 😅 I had a 2014 Trek Marlin 6 as my first mountain bike, some of my oldest videos are of me learning to ride that around Duluth!
Looks fresh! Brewer is a rad zone, I’ll have to check out the rework the next time I’m available n Duluth.
