This peak is higher than highest peak in NZ, great place absolutely jam packed with great nature and buzzing cities. It is the worlds most underrated destination.
Over 70% land in Taiwan are mountain and hill. And also Taiwan have over 250 mountains are height than 3000 meters. If you like hiking, is really welcome everyone to visit here! And again thanks you to film such beautiful video of my homeland
All of your videos usually get me sentimental but this one hit close to home, I cried. I had a friend growing up who wanted to do this when we were younger. Please dont stop recording these its so amazing to live through you.
Such a beautiful country and hike. Thanks for taking us along. And a big thanks for making these videos that have no talking. It gives a more peaceful feel.
My friend, thank you so much for getting out there and sharing this with us. Truly, this is exactly something I needed, as I feel like in the past few years I lost all the energy and spirit for adventures. Truly an amazing video and thank you again. Wishing you all the best. :)
Wow, what an incredible adventure! I loved watching your journey to the highest peak in Taiwan. The stunning views and challenging terrain make me want to add this hike to my bucket list. Thanks for sharing your experience!
Wow, what an incredible adventure! Your video captured the breathtaking beauty of Taiwan's highest peak perfectly. The stunning views, challenging hike, and your storytelling kept me engaged from start to finish. I appreciate the useful tips you provided along the way, making it easier for fellow hikers to plan their own journey. Thank you for sharing this remarkable experience with us. Keep up the great work, and I can't wait to see more of your exciting adventures!
Really enjoyed the drone intro and the music selection. These are always the most notable parts of your videos for myself. Great to see the help from your new friends Curtis and Larry as well! These two have done a great job representing and showing everyone how great the hiking community can be in Taiwan. Happy Hiking!
I followed you on AllTrail because I saw your hiking video, it surprises me that you went to my home country. Many people in United States doesn't know Taiwan and they always confused it with Thailand. Some people do the trail in one day because it's really difficult to get the permit for staying in the cabin.
Beautiful mountains. Hope to visit Taiwan one day and do some hiking and enjoy some wonderful food there. Followed you on AllTrails for a while and great to see you doing some local trails here in Colorado
A really beautiful hike and country, been enjoying this series! The hiking gear culture in Asia seemingly always surprises me... interesting to see how stark the contrast is with Kraig's 'minimalism'
Enjoy your illusionary country Taiwan, those weird relationships with mainland China is just about to end in years, no matter you accept or not. China back to be superpower on earth is unstoppable. Keep your fragile pride gently
My theory is that most of us are here because we wish our job was to film ourselves going on trips and hiking up mountains. Not to take away from the beautiful work Kraig is doing with these videos - I think they're great.
Before this video I had no idea that Taiwan has such magnificent scenery - I formerly thought Taiwan was absolutely flat with nothing but semiconductor factories populating it! Thanks, Kraig, for this video and my education!!
You got the sunrise from North Summit - best choice! I did Jade mountain last November, but couldn't get a spot in the Paiyun lodge, so did it all in one day, without north peak. Jade mountain may of been at the top of your list, but it's really just the tip (of the iceberg)!
Nice videos! Welcome to Taiwan again! There are more foods in Taiwan that foreigners have never tasted, as well as scenery unique to Taiwan. Welcome to try it!
Finally you come to my country for hiking . but i do recommend Syue mountain . the 2nd highest peak in TW . i almost arrange to hike in this trail every year .
home sweet home.. got stuck at the flat down under. missing the endless green waves of mountains and the vibrant dancing cloud. Thank you for the amazing video!
the first time i watch your video is hiking in Hornstrandir. now i see you in my country and hike in Jade Mountain, its so lovely. such beautiful and peaceful scenery. love your video.
drinking with friends in leisure time, we often speak out loud "呼搭拉" in every round of drinking, which is the quickest way, in my opinion, to make friends in Taiwan. enjoy ur trip. 😁
Rad video! You're talented at cinematography and telling a story. Obviously, you already know this, haha. I especially appreciated the logistical stuff at the end. For me, that makes an adventure more accessible. It takes the video past simple consumption for entertainment and makes it educational as well.

I never would have guessed this is what the natural environment in Taiwan looked like. Beautiful!
Very few people realize how beautiful of an island Taiwan is...
The Portuguese named the island 'Formosa' which means Beautiful

So many hikes to see in Taiwan! Even without going over 3000m, lots of beautiful treks everywhere
I didn't know Taiwan had such amazing scenery, a pleasure to watch.
no unnecessary chatter, no artificial or exaggerated events. just moments caught as they truly are. a pleasure to watch
Your comment is 💯
I had no idea that the mountains in Taiwan were so numerous and high. Beautiful filming, Craig. Really enjoyed it!

In fact, Taiwan's mountainous area is larger than flat area.
Mt. Jade (Yushan) is taller than Mt. Fuji, the highest in Japan, and a lot greener.

I just moved to Taipei 6 months ago and loving it! The nature is amazing and the infrastructure is pretty good, in one word "Convenience".
I’m heading to Taiwan in April, I’d love to do this hike. Is there anyone who would want to do it with me, or can help me plan this hike? 🇬🇧

Love Taiwan. Such a beautiful country and friendly people.
Why so little footage from the actual summit?
Did you have problems with altitude sickness?

Fun not so fun fact. It's 100x harder to get the permission to hike than hiking Yushan itself :(
Lolol
So true😂
But how fun it is to be the not-so-fun-fact person :)
Not true. It’s more easy to get the permission if you don’t stay at Paiyun lodge.
Beautiful
