Fellow fishers are genuinely nice in my experiences
th-cam.com/video/2-qKBmPqebs/w-d-xo.html
the best fishing advice I’ve ever gotten was just talk to the elderly men you see fishing because they have been doing it all their life and know what works when where better than any young guy wants to admit
The nicest people I've met this year are people I met while fishing
Fr
I live in Alaska where they are pretty hostile. They are nicer in Chicago when I visited
I started sport-fishing two years ago, with zero experience, whatsoever! I got on a boat that takes veterans out and my passion exploded! In two years I’ve made tons of reel (like that) friends, who’ve turned into life time brothers and the best part is they’ve all taken me under their wings! Not only have a got some pretty bad ass free gear, this year I start my new job as a deck hand on a veteran charter guide boat. Talk about manifesting your destiny and dreams. Tomorrow I leave for two weeks to fish Detroit Lake for Kokanee and the following week we are in Newport Oregon to fish for Herring in The Yaquina Bay. All bait fish for the big dogs out in the deep blue sea. Tight Lines and Good Tides!
👏👏👏
Sounds like a fun life man 🔥🔥🔥
Literally just met a real swell dude named Travis at the lake this morning. Fishermen have a bond just like bikers.
got that right lol also just met a dude and he was very nice and showed me how to catch some suckers and trout very helpful considering i’m only 13 and dont really know all what i’m doing
@@cavachoncx3361 so do the Jews so that makes sense.
Just met an awesome cool dude named harry , he helped me fishing and gave me some free lures , I got his contact and we will be fishing together soon.
Btw I came to him with my cheap trap and he recommended me a great affordable rod which will arrive soon.
The fishing community is genuinely the nicest I ever experienced
@@user-mt2jf1jx6vI’m 45 and just started to learn, have no clue as to what I’m doing but it’s nice to relax, and catch fish too
Agree 💯 percent
I would add that if you're bringing out children or ppl fishing for their 1st time; bring a can of nightcrawlers. That way you can almost guarantee that they will catch at least a few fish.
I haven't seen night crawlers in cans since the 90s lol but I understand what you're saying

My problem is that when I talk to a fellow fisher I usually can’t get them to shut up afterwards 🤣
You sound like fun.
Your definetly the kind of kid who will ask me for a worm and then just throw into the water
F6whhxyw7x
😂
Bro same its kinda funny
Fishermen are honestly some of the funniest and nicest people I've met. Any time I go out I can just talk to one and we have a conversation like old friends. Great hobbg
I don't usually catch many fish if any but I just love being out and trying I could do it all day
I never catch anything on lures. Thousands upon thousands of casts using spinners, top waters, frogs, crayfish, cranks, different worm rigs, I have only ever caught 3 fish on minnow swimmer lures.
Can't keep them off of the worms though.
Some people are so nice I was fly fishing last night just started last year and a guy who was leaving gave me about ten home made flys and sum tips to cast better
W dude.
Here's something for those catching or fishing for trout. DO NOT UNDER ANY CONDITION use a cloth rag, or a cloth shirt, or a cloth net to hold or catch it (no fabrics) . Anything besides your hand will rub off the oils coating the trouts scales which make the trout less immune to disease and other illnesses, meaning when you'd release it- it would most likely die.
This goes the same for pickerel, what sucks even more is that no one eats them so if they do die it’s for nothing
If that was the case you would see 100000000 dead fish every lake. Fk trout anyway
@@wgooetrik It is the case, went to school for wildlife biology; specializing in freshwater fisheries, trout are extremely sensitive fish. I've inspected trout that have been improperly handled and then released, many had sported lesions on their scales, infections, parasites, the list goes on.
If you don't have respect for wildlife then don't include yourself in it, city slicker.
@@MapShiba I live in montana city slicker
@@MapShiba probably die from the methyl mercury before someone touches them.
I caught my first Bass today with a Texas rig, what a feeling!
3 great tips that have helped me no end. I swapped down from a 14cm to a 7cm lure and caught a 10lb pike! I always change spots and it definitely works to keep mobile when lure fishing. Asking for help or for tips from local anglers has caught me fish before also!
Bro saying “And if youre lucky enough, they might share bait with you” like RNG type shit from a videogame 😭😭😭
I’ve always loved fishing because everyone you meet is almost always nice and shares a bunch of helpful advice.
Alaska: ask a fisher for help he will fight you. Don’t get near another fisher in alaska
Note taken
Something that still stands out to me is when I was 7 years old, I was fishing a dock all day long (probably close to 6 hrs in total) and got skunked. The older gentleman next to me had reeled in multiple 24” pike. I asked him what he was using and he said he had a five of diamonds. After looking through my dad’s tackle box which I had brought with me, I found nothing. I asked the man what else I should use and he cut his five of diamonds off and gave it to me. 7 year old me caught a 22” pike second cast. I still have the spoon; I am 26 today. Won’t ever fish with it again. Keeping it to remind myself to always help others. Maybe one day I can cut it off my rig and hand it down to a little man just like I was.

-even if you're not catching, don't get upset,
It's called fishing not catching.
Doesn't matter if you catch 1fish, or 1,000fish, it's going to be the same.

True it's not called catching it's called fishing enjoy the time out on the water and appreciate
@@vrpro4314
Yup, I can catch bass and stripper all day, my daily record is 88fish, 5am-10pm. But if I'm not enjoying it, because of "whatever", it would still be a bad day.
So enjoy life a little and slow down every now and then.
I remember when I was 18 and this guy in his 30s was pulling in fish and I didn’t even get a bite and he said “hold on try this bitch right here” and gave me his lure and I still out catch just about anybody I fish with with it!
I almost exclusively wade to fish creeks in TN, any time I see someone else who asks about what I use or tips on where to fish, pretty much every time if I’ve got extras I’ll give them what I use and tell them where I use it. If they’re really into it, I send them my google maps saved spots list. I wish more fishermen would try to get more people into it, I absolutely love sharing my passion
It’s so fun to use small fishing rods you can feel the fish bite so fast I caught so many catfish with small rod
Once I cought 2 catfish in 5 min
Fishermen are some of the nicest people alive. I’ve learned so much just askin a question. Never got anything but help and support
The people are one of the reasons I love fishing. Even if your at a tournament they are nice. One time, I was fishing at my local pond, and a guy saw I wasn’t catching anything on grub lures, he rolls up with his massive tackle box, pulls out an entire box of minnow lures and just gives them to me
Always useful thank you
Yamamoto senkos, green pumkin, black and blue, they all work, only lure you need for bass
Bass angler here im south africa are wholesome af
I had this littelkid that was struggling to catch somthing so i hooked up and wasnt bad a 3.5 kg bass an hand3d him the rod the moment i set the hook
Man that smile on his face was to pure
Fisherman are typically friendly to each other especially new people
I live in Plymouth and I asked these guys what they were using because in the past 10 minutes the caught 2 rainbow trout they were just using power bait.
The pond down the road from my house I caught a 5 pound using a crawfish Small Luer
Amazing, and that last tip is a very important tip for sure.
Agreed. Other fisherman are pretty nice. Went to a lodge and was kyak fishing and asked a guy what's hittin. Told me to come over to his boat and he gave me one of his lures. Then proceeded to fish with him on his boat and catch tons of rock bass and a pickerel
That last bit is so true, some of the nicest people on the planet include hunters, fishers, and fighters.
I could never agree more on the last. This nice man (named AJ) was with his wife. He knew what he was doing and we caught at least 5 total fish. He said I can borrow his works and I caught my first ever fish (without to much assist.) There was also this nameless fisherman that let me get some Larve. Didn’t catch anything but, still fun. Thanks AJ, and thank you nameless fisherman.
I agree! I use tiny lures and constantly get bites!
I fish at a certain pond VERY frequently so I kinda know what lures work in that pond, and anytime someone asks what I’m using I will always give them one.
Last tip is underrated!
I love you the tips keep up the great work. Will watch in the future
Recognize those old mills and smokestacks and bridges anywhere baby! Lawrence, MA!!!!! ❤🎉
#1 is sooo underrated... too many people treating the size of their bait/lures like they are lifted trucks. If you use something small it has no affect on the size of your "manhood"
For the movement tip, I agree completely but fish often are very stubborn. I was out this weekend and I can’t tell you how many times a single fish looked at my bait, studied it, and turned away. I kept trying different approaches until it finally hit it.
Great channel man !
Another good tip is to make sure your licenses are up to date.
It’s true people are really nice, I went fishing yesterday and asked someone for help. He showed me how to throw certain baits and rig them up and even showed me a proper knot tie
Haha you used the little orange senko that came with the bait getter thing 👍👍👍
Your vids are chill man, i like them.
There was this one guy who limited on trout (which is five) at this pond in like 30 min and we were wondering what he used. Weeks later we see him and ask him what to do and he gave us some baits to use for trout and I caught a 17 inch stocked trout. Definitely don’t be afraid to ask
What did he use?
@@VlogSquadEntertainment Berkley PowerBait Trout. This works like a charm from where I am.
I have met the nicest people while fishing. Its like an unwritten fishing rule … if you need something or have something to help someone, you do.
I never even have to ask the guys who fish they just come up to you and start chatting if you go anywhere near them
Ultra Light fishing is really worth to try! So much fun and the bigger fish are just amazing on the light material
My best tip is always bring a pumpkin green Chigger quad! I'm never let down with a couple of these and NEVER leave as the sun is going down! Fish bite after that until around 9:00. Goodluck!!
Three great tips I use every day I fish. Especially that 3rd one. I had a great conversation with an older fisherman a month ago. Learned a new trick 👍🏻
Excellent tips. Right on.
Fisherman love to talk about their success. I always chat up people fishing even if I’m not fishing, so I have that info for the next time
For bass, Dropshot, dropshot, and dropshot again. It’s like playing on easy mode, okay with colors and sizes
these are really good tips even for experienced anglers. especially the covering water one. i’ve witnessed many people at my local ponds set up in one spot and not move for hours. i’m constantly moving, my goal is to make sure every fish in the body of water sees my lure at least once. great video!
Fisherman are nice cause it’s like the only time your just at peace with everything untill a birds nest
The tip about changing spots is a good one - I used to just sit in one place for hours, not catching anything, cuz I just didn't understand that was something that mattered lol
The river part is so true I can stand in any spot and hammer fish all day without stop
Great advice
One time I was using corn and couldn't catch anything and this family gave me a full carton of worms this guy ain't lyin
Straight to the point and true/great tips!
He's right. I have gotten some great tips on lure fishing from that dude next to you catching fish. I was surprised how willing they were to help me out and give tips. I've even had someone give my spoon and my son caught a decent Northern Pike. His first lure catch. Good video bro.
Give my son a spoon
Little comment to the 3rd tip fisherman from my experiences are some of the nicest people I've met
As an avid fisherman I absolutely love when people ask for advice
Wherever new I go,vi always ask for advise on how to fish the area.
I've learned lots of valuable information from asking.
Great advice,I always toss some swim baits and curly tailed grubs already rigged up on lead heads to younger people fishing near me.Those 2 inch Bobby Garland shads catch pretty much anything that swims.
Totally agree about downsizing lures. My gosh are the lures most stores sell way to big. Look for the Jr. version of a bait you want to try most of the time. Especially if you use a spinning rod
I recently started fishing and the community is the nicest giving me tips giving me baits I love this community
I was fishing with power bait one day and I wasn't having any luck, and old guy across the creek was fishing with worms and was catching everything. He walked across the creek and gave me some of his worms. Fishermen should always look out for each other.
Thank you for the tops. I agree about the third tip…
I remember being unable to tie a knot on a lure. My brother had dropped me off so I had nobody to help. Thankfully, some guys came fishing and showed me how to tie a polymer knot. Thanks to them, my day was saved
Fishing is kinda a brotherly community. Many ppl will help in my opinion. I've given ppl like 2 dozen large shiners (I usually have one pole with live bait and 1 for lures etc) and shown them how to set it up and explain the whole time I'm setting it up for them.
“Down size your lures” me searching for something smaller than mini trout magnet
Hell yeah definitely good tips
Just got my tuctek kayak and gonna be using it next weekend. I hope to spend most of the day on the water just learning since I'm still new but also enjoying the day on the lake.
I used your tip of moving spots if you feel like it's dead. Every 30 to 45 min I'd switch spots. Had a dryspell for like an hour then found a honey hole and swept up about 30 fish. Channel cat crappie and bluegill. Thanks for the t
Thanks bro
Gotta love the educational videos 🙏🏼
Fr they nice
My favorite topwater lure is a popper
Thanks!
My dad helped a foreigner set up a rig when he asked for help
Great vid
Most important thing, HAVE FUN. Try new spots, new lures, dont get down on urself if u get skunked, it happens to the best of us.
Tip 3 is the best.
I'm always trying to help people who ask, got my buddy on a 4lb toad. He's been out ever since haha
That last tip is a gamble depending who is asking for help. I helped out some kids fishing next to me and they decided to call their friends over to hog up the spot and eventually push me out smh
They were never able to hook a fish while they watched me catch another across from them 😂
Honestly some of my best random friendships have been talking to someone fishing near me
Extension to Tip 2.
Water currents and wind. Especially on ponds and lakes. The wind will create a current in the water. This will make bait fish follow or be pushed with the current. Bigger fish will follow. So if you see a current. Fish on the end its going too. Fish will also take shelter from the current in calm spots. So fish them also. You'll be surprised on how much more fish you'll get
Yes sir great tips!
Im a fisherman and I tell you fishermans are always open for questions and like to give advice
Awesome tips
You just speak facts with those advices
My buddy is literally a casterman not even a fisherman. It blows me away the tactics and confidence he has that make absolutely no sense
I once asked the guy next to me for tips and he gave me a lure and it works like a bomb
The fishing community 90% of the time are so nice ive had people just give me fish when i take them home to eat

Me sitting here with my bass guitar learning about fish
I started with you and I do feel pretty seasoned now.
Now I just need to find a job where I can work remotely aka from a boat
On my first bfs setup I was using a tiny minnow crankbait and probably caught every dink in that pond for the beginner I would recxoemnd an ultralight spinning setup to avoid backlash though takes awhile to learn to dial the breaks and stuff
Always have the problem of staying at ponds when you are getting no bite I am like I am not leaving without a bite
If you're having issues with your knots remember it's easier to pass your loop over your tag end rather than push your tag end through
The good Ol' half orange senko 😂
I'm in the midwest and ppl are genuinely kind hearted but I always fish next to snobs and a**holes bc I rarely get help from the ppl around me.
