Great video, I've never clicked so fast! Tough choice but I'd go with Emma for my favourite of the three. "You gave me a social disease!" is one of the most iconic lines. I liked her eating disorder storyline though they did mostly forget about it. I actually prefer the best friend characters of the 3 - Manny, Alli, and I don't know who Maya's best friend equivalent would be? Definitely prefer Manny and Alli though to all 3 of them!
While Grace or Tori would make the most sense to say are Maya’s best friend, I think that the character type should be reframed as the “secondary” female character of the respective generation. In Emma and Clare’s cases, their best friends fill the role of the secondary character, but in Maya’s case, I think Zoe fills that role instead despite that they’re rivals and not best friends.
With iconic lines, they each have their own. “You gave me a social disease” “DID 3 MONTHS MEAN NOTHING” “DID YOU EVEN LOVE ME AT ALL” and even though this one is sad, but still iconic, “HE BROKE UP WITH ME BY KILLING HIMSELF”. I will say though, Maya is the one who got me into Degrassi. I started watching season 12 and 13 reruns on teennick in 2014 and I absolutely loved her character, and eventually the whole show including the 80s version. Maya Matlin has a very soft spot in my heart
@@TheFormerPresidentsDenim Oooh I like this idea. Zoe was definitely more of a lead than Grace or Tori. I liked her character development. Though I wish I could erase the Degrassi Nudes storyline from my memory!

Before watching, Maya has the best character development, most realistic story and ends up actually likeable in the end. Team Maya on this one even though I actually personally like Claire better.
I personally wouldn't want a Degrassi reboot unless it's in good hands because I didn't think HBO or Warner would've done good because they'll just compare it to Euphoria which Degrassi definitely isn't.
I can't think of one event in which I found Emma to be a sympathetic character. I could never believe Clare would be desired by her love interests- obnoxious and neurotic with terrible style. Maya was a kind of cute, moody teenage "everywoman" that never really required suspension of disbelief.
@@Melissdan I'm saying that I felt the show failed to make the viewer [me] connect to/care about the character, not that they didn't create enough unfortunate circumstances for her.
Emma is the best! When she was the central character it made sense because she was literally the next generation. I NEVER understood why Clare got soo much screentime when there were plenty of other more interesting characters. Also, I never bought that she was BFFs with Alli. With Mya, I liked her in her first 2 seasons..but her character got ruined when the writing got bad. I never believed her friendship circle either.
I didn’t really watch Maya’s era of Degrassi so I won’t speak on it much but I’m probably in the small 5% of ppl who actually like Emma Nelson lol. She had cringe moments but everybody did. Also, I think her and Manny both had bad friendship moments but the love was always there. I also appreciated how grounded she was, love it or hate it you know what you getting with her. As for Claire, I’m glad she was pretty fierce. She stood up to the Shep, her neurodivergent friend Connor, and her trans friend Adam. I also think the way she “held Alli accountable” but was still there for her was how Emma should’ve did it. I also think she should’ve gotten school president over Drew and they shouldn’t have “dated”. I wish the writers wrote Darcy back in some small Claire plots in s10-s11
If the series returns to production; However, it is not likely at this moment, I think that it should revolve around Jack Simpson, Mr.Simpson's son and Emma's brother. After all, Jack would be old enough to attend junior high or high school now. Plus, it would make for some great storylines too. We would get to see his viewpoints, attitudes towards friends and family, and his reactions to the growing pains of being child on the verge of adulthood. Stuff like Jack attending school with his principal dad, maybe an annoying niece and/or nephew from Emma and Connor to follow him around, and where he would fit in amongst his peers. Will he be a leader or a follower? The series can even be set up the same way that did for original cast of Degrassi TNG to make cameos like a reunion episode that can close the book on some of the old characters but bring in material for another generation. As you can tell from this lengthy post I have been thinking about this awhile , but this is just my opinion.
Maya was my favorite. She was the most relatable to me; considering everything that happened to her in the show, she could have been a real person. Clare was a good character too but her story got entrenched in Eli, Jake and Drew, which no longer appealed to me. Emma was annoying and sanctimonious. Enough said.
a lot of shows seem to have the most hateable characters for their mains and that remains true for degrassi 😭 but im a sucker for clare & i will defend maya til i die. can't say the same for emma though,, i understand she's iconic but she is chronically nosey, hypocritical, & literally just rude at times.. but my overall fav is gonna be clare
What i found weird though is how Emma, Clare and Maya never interacted with each other once. I get the first 2 because Emma graduated at the end of Season 7 and then Clare had her official start in high school in Season 8, but Clare and Maya shared screen time for 2.5 whole seasons and not a single interaction at all. For the class of 2014, Maya interacted with Drew, Alli, Jenna, Adam, Connor, Imogen, and Dallas as to what i can remember but no Clare whatsoever. Emma and Maya could've had an interaction in the Next Class reunion but that didnt happen either because i think Maya was in New York with Jonah at this time for an audition i think
I agree, I also noticed that Clare has interacted with everybody in Maya’s class including, Tori, Zig, Tristian, Miles, Winston, and Zoe but never Maya herself. although Emma and Clare had a small interaction in the season 9 episode “Holiday Road” but It mainly just Emma being irritable with Clare and Alli asking her irrelevant questions about her social life at smith dale in the middle of her bike a thon presentation.
Ugh, Emma is honestly the only one I can't stand 😭😅 she was an iconic character but was so incredibly unlikable. I think Maya is my favorite of the three, she's definitely the one that feels the most like a real person. Also, another iconic Clare moment for me is when she freaking smashed the security cameras lol
That Clare smashing the security cameras is dumb. Big Brother Degrassi storyline was stupid with that dumb new principal who was only there for a few episodes. Hated that Principal so much.
I'm trying to not let my age and when i started watching Degrassi influence who I think wins, but Emma overall feels like the winner in this fight. All three are good (yes even Claire), but I don't know, I am one of the few who don't hate Emma. Only thing I really disliked about her was how judgmental she could become. Her holier-than-thou attitude ruined her a bit. Still, at least her stories were diverse than Claires. That much I'll say in that lane.
I feel like Manny -> Alli -> Lola would be a great comparison. Lola has similar qualities to the other 2, especially her ability to be a supportive friend to many different characters.
Lola isn’t anything like Manny & Alli. She’s more like Jenna in my opinion, they both came off as fake and ditzy, plus they were snakes at first and stabbed their friends in the back over a boy. but they became supportive friends as they had character development. I think Tori was supposed to be the new age Manny/Alli before she “moved away”
7 year old me hated Clare with a passion. I’m now 22 and I still stand by it. I like Emma, yeah she can be annoying as hell but she reminds me of myself sometimes, Maya is def my fav tho🤚🏻
That Emma episode with the rumor was Terry’s fault. Emma wasn’t talking to her, but Manny, because she was preyed upon in the first episode by a grown man, so she was genuinely worried. Her first inkling actually happened two episodes later in “Wannabe”, where she literally shames Manny and the cheerleaders, because Emma didn’t want Manny to stop being her friend and being envious. I mean Paige was being bad too, but Manny did enjoy cheerleading and her best friend was calling her a Bimbo. I mean she did ditch Emma to hang out with Paige and Hazel, but I mean if my friend was insulting me and other people were lifting me up in a activity I like, I think maybe I’d be a little peeved by my friend, especially when she wrote an article, because she was upset and was being ironically, sexist. Honestly, I like Claire the most, just because she came in around the time I did and I don’t recall her being awful to everyone, but I do think she got pushed up more than she should have. I also liked Ali and I definitely think the writers flubbed a few episodes that didn’t match her character (like sending Bianca’s nudes out after she had it happen like 2/3 seasons before). Maya is ok too, but her and Tristan rubbed me the wrong way for some reason, especially in the first season they were on, similar to Claire, who was very pretentious in her first season that she was a actual character in storylines. Emma got worse in the latter seasons, especially after her and Sean broke up, like she went down hill. She even dated Craig after the Manny nudes thing, so she’s the worst in my opinion.
I have always been a Maya fan. I personally never found her annoying but I did think she had a bit of a savior complex which is understandable considering what happened to her first boyfriend. But I can’t remember her ever having a storyline that I didn’t like and I think she was a good friend even if she did kiss her friends boyfriend. I like to think after that she would never do it again.
Emma is the OG I liked Clared a lot until she became self-centered, plus to me she was more of a Liberty than an Emma imho she I still liked her. Didn't care too much for Maya (she's more of an Emma).
Maya was my favourite for sure! She definitely had her annoying moments but she wasnt an annoying character if that makes sense. Anytime she did do something really annoying it was usually out of worry for others. It was just executed wrongly... but never too extreme. She wasn't.a selfish person just an anxious character for the most part! Of course she had her annoying teen drama moments but so did everyone else. At the end of the dayshe was a teenager!
I really gotta go with Maya, cause she’s less annoying than all of them. Emma would most definitely be an anti-vaxxer and anti masker in 2020, and Clare was irritating af to me and boring
Definitely Maya. Sure she can be annoying at times.. but not all the time. She’s also not too much of a terrible friend in comparisons to Emma or Clare. Also I like all 3 characters regardless, but that does not mean I don’t find them extremely irritating at times. My second favorite would probably be Clare because her class was my introduction to Degrassi. Tbh I know a Emma has a lot of fans cause she the og, but I don’t know I just didn’t care for her that much. Maybe it’s because I didn’t start Degrassi with the first class. I’m more of a Clare/Maya apologist 🤷♀️.
Nah that’s some cap. Claire I feel is a better friend out of the bunch. I feel like her never cheating on a significant other with the boyfriend of a friend is a big one, along with making things work with those friendships enough where they wasn’t constantly fighting with her friends. She had two friends get with two of her current bfs and she’s still close friends with them. Maya and Tristan’s relationship was toxic along with her and Tory’s. Out the gate Maya’s motives were nice, but execution makes you a good friend.
@@indigo3896 well when I was referring to Maya being a better friend, I was more likely talking about Tristan and Mayas friendship, in which Tristan was just the worst. But yeah Maya definitely still had her moments in being a terrible friend, like kissing Tory’s bf. Mayas friend group was def a bit more toxic in comparisons to Claire’s friend group. But I will say Emma is the worst out of the two when it came down to the friendship aspect.
Clare sided with boys against Ali, Clare constantly talked down and belittled Jenna even though they were meant to be friends after a certain point, Clare was good to Connor at the beginning but in Season 12 during the whole 'Stuff Clare Says' hashtag going viral, she was discriminating against those with learning difficulties when she blamed Connor's Asperger's for him making those tweets when the truth is EVERYONE thought it was funny as hell (which is why it went viral to begin with). She decided to get back with Jake after he kissed Ali yet treated Ali like garbage which made no sense (at least be mad at them both, not a true friend if you side with the cheating dude over your best friend who is FAR more sorry about what happened and Ali was in a bad place at the time with Dave tbh so just be mad at them both). She was a pretty bad friend to a lot of people during her run and most of it was from Season 10 onwards.
I think Emma had more well known moments, that are remembered mostly through memes, but when I think of Degrassi: I see Claire. Maya's definitely an enjoyable character and she was relatable but Claire essentially WAS Degrassi
Clare had the same old plot recycled and was a pretty one dimensional character compared to Emma and Maya. How you think Degrassi when you see Clare, I will never know.
Definitely gotta Say Maya wins the relationship round, Claire’s relationships are boring, minus the start of Eclaire and Emma just dated to many people lol but I do love her ending up with Spinner TBH
After rewatching degrassi through its entirety of 18 seasons.... I realized that Emma was a good MC and Clare was also a strong character to volley us into after Emma's departure but like.. Maya was really great. There were times where I was like ahh I can see why people dont like her but like all her actions had reason and the foreshadowing from s11 to TNC 1-4 was well written and amazing. Also Clare sucked with her friendships, she literally called Jenna a trashy teen mom and always took any male's side against Ali when she was in conflict LOL
@@pleaseshutup7053 she got herself together and made a hard and mature decision that affected her own future and her babies future. I think she moved beyond being a trashy teen mom lol
Great video! This was a close call but I really think Clare should've won. All 3 of these girls fit the "good girl main character w/ a bad boy BF" trope and I feel like Clare fit that role the best. Even though all of them had their annoying streaks, Clare was the better friend, girlfriend, and overall person. Maya's character really flopped in Next Class and I stopped caring for Emma after season 4.
i will defend maya with everything i have. her whole character makes so much sense if you just acknowledge how she never truly recovered after what happened with cam
Does she? They regressed her character so much in Season 8. Emma was confused trying to find herself because no one at the College campus remembered her and kept calling her blonde Emma, to the point she had to smoke weed to be cool and make a name for herself. Another reason why they should have just let Emma, Manny and Liberty have guest appearances instead of full on storylines.
@@njyawndra8609 To be fair, you were right as well, it's a weird one. Emma was very solid and consistent as a person and character in Season 1 - 3., which are actually my favorite Emma seasons for this reason, they took the time to really build her story as a character up. Her character assassination started in Season 4 and she was literally yo-yoing between being one thing or another until she ended up leaving the show in Season 9. Watching the movie where she got married to Spinner was weird. It's like we don't even know who Emma is anymore and it's like she didn't even know who she was anymore. The script and the writing for her character during that entire story sucked so badly. Spinner at least was more grounded because he featured more in Season 8 and 9 but even his character was going down the drain and we didn't know who he really was anymore, but Emma and Spinner were by far the most forced, unnatural, non-organic relationship in the whole show without any proper build-up.
I’d say that Claire and maya are both good in different ways but are both very irritating in other ways. I don’t believe either of them to be malicious. I feel like Claire would’ve been better if she hadn’t dated Eli. They were a cute couple but were incredibly toxic and I feel that hurt her character development in a way. She would’ve been better off with a character with a more mellow personality. Maya on the other hand was insecure and it led her to make a lot of mistakes like kissing zig while he was dating Tori. I do feel that cam’s death really turned her into a cold person for a while. If she was sent to therapy following his death she wouldn’t have gone through such a delinquent phase. However I do like that she eventually healed and her and zig were endgame. Emma on the other hand is just rude evil and malicious. She treated manny like a doormat while doing the exact same things manny did 😂 she was horrible and fake to everyone around her. To say the least she’s worse than holly j. Emma is Paige’s level of mean, it’s just that Paige doesn’t hide her ego and rudeness 😂
Too much focus on Eclare ruined the whole show. It never went anywhere. Clare and Eli DON'T live happily ever after. Clare just says 'I need to figure things out' implying she's staying at Toronto while Eli has to return to NYU at the end of the summer. Long distance messed them up so badly, if anything Season 13 and 14 after the pregnancy weakened their relationship. It was such an underwhelming ending. Eli even left Clare at prom pissed off after Clare admitted she may not go with Eli to New York to spend the year with him because she needs to 'figure things out' (like it's crazy, she wanted to go to Columbia the whole time and only after miscarriage she decided 'oh I'm not sure''). So many characters and storylines suffered because the writers (and annoying group of fans) spent far too much time and resources focusing on EClare which for the most part has always been depressing and stressful to watch them have issues over the most minor situations especially in Season 10. Then when they tried to add more serious issues in Season 13 and 14, it came off so fake and soap opera like, cancer, pregnancy and miscarriage back to back mentally a lot of people were done with it at that point, I know I was. Remember how Eli called her a 'whore' and made Clare cry when Clare tried to tell Eli the baby was his? Only after he found out from Imogen (which is a stupid way to find out) that the baby was his, he goes up to Clare and DOESN'T even apologize to her properly, he just make excuses and all of a sudden Clare forgives him as if nothing happened. Imagine if Eli never knew. He would have never spoken to Clare again even when she loved him. They are no good for each other and the way they wrapped up EClare was absolutely pathetic and underwhelming. Degrassi suck at portraying positive relationships (the worst was Season 13 and 14) and most of them end over the dumbest reasons. Fiona and Imogen ended abruptly, people like that couple but they really sucked if they ended at the end of the season over the fact that Fiona is chasing her dream and Imogen got held back a year. That was never love if they weren't willing to try work it out long distance, like Drew and Bianca tried (but failed miserably) and Eli and Clare also tried to make it work. Worst relationship in Season 14 was obviously Imogen and Jack. I hated that with a passion, Jack was such a frustrating character and one of my least favorites, the storylines were terrible, her not being out to her parents despite not being religious or homophobic (IT WAS BECAUSE SHE DIDN'T WANT THEM TO THINK SHE ISN'T THEIR LITTLE GIRL ANYMORE!?) was absolutely stupid, given how she was portrayed as some super proud lesbian who had a whole ass relationship with her ex-girlfriend before moving to Degrassi, on top of being polyamorous apparently, all under her parents noses. Jack was easily the worst written LGBT character in the show, and that says something since we had Dylan (who was written well at the beginning), that Eric dude (which I swear Dylan cheated on Marco with before he dated Marco later) and Mr. Yates, the teacher who had his way with Tristan.
I can say Clare and Maya stayed true to character unlike Emma. I say out of the three Clare was the best out of them. You just could not help but root for her especially during the Cancer storyline. Clare was Canada’s sweetheart. Emma lost her beloved title once Elle got in the scene . Emma hypocrisy made me instantly fast-forward her scenes.
I think Clare was the 'best', only because her character is the only one who had a 'natural' send off. Emma and Maya both got weird treatments-- Emma lingered and it felt like they had to force something to really write her off and Maya was unfortunately included in the latter seasons, what with Degrassi shifting to Netflix (thus becoming a bit more campy).
Rewatching recently I found the storylines in next class to actually be compelling, I definitely missed the old school vibe but the storylines felt like they were doing what the early seasons of degrassi were doing and actually taking it there with their real life “taboo” topics
@@tloj2469 I can see that! Tbh, when people want to get into Degrassi, I actually reccomend 'Next Class' as the starting point because, while I think its watered down in how they use character exposition, it's more straight-forward in that a lot of the scenarios dont drag on. They still used one or two episodes to finish any given situationship, but at least things were mostly resolved and we didnt leave off on a beat, only to truly pick back up a whole season later, lol.
I commented this on another video but Maya > Clare >>> Emma. Emma was just awful, Clare was annoying but understandable and more likable, and Maya was less annoying and had the better character arc.
Clare. As the least problematic. Like I think we all agree all 3 characters are inflicted with angry white female protagonist vibes. Of which Emma is obviously the worst of the trio. But lets not forget Maya literally starts the series by stealing her frenemys boyfriend and ends the series allowing a lonely POC friend to get bullied by her boyfriend because of an activity they enjoyed together + stealing a mentally unstable girl's boyfriend. Claire might by annoying at times but she is objectively a better person than Maya, and her storylines (romance with a bipolar person, cancer, parent divorce, losing religion, pregnancy, sexual harassment in the workspace... ) are better than Mayas. Fight me
You should do a video about the teachers at degrassi. You chould do a video where you talk about the history of each character like you did with the students.
I'm saying this before the video because there's no physically possible way you could make me like either option more than her: Emma is better. I'm watching this for fun lmao.
Now that I’ve seen the whole vid here’s my actual opinion- Clare is in my mind the most iconic. Because I didn’t watch this show growing up but I still knew who she was. HOWEVER, best character is still Maya. Emma stayed on so long her characterization was destroyed. Not to mention she spent most of her extended time on the show just being incredibly annoying. Clare had the iconic moments and THE iconic romance of the show - like it or not. But Maya was better written (until the end of next class lol). Maya was like if Emma/Manny or Clare/Ally combined into one person. Instead of being a one dimensional good girl type of character she was rounded out. Cheating with her friends boyfriend? Obviously wrong. But she saved Zig from gang activities. Defended Tristan (who was also rude to her) from bullies. She was anxious about Cam not wanting to spend time with her. But was ultimately who saved his life (until Zig interfered). She helps Zoe (who bullies her). She saves Zig again (later when he gets pushed down a hill) she even helps Esme who pushed him. She could be jealous and petty at times and she wasn’t the best friend but her friends were also terrible friends lol. She did good whenever she could and when she was hurting it felt relatable not contrived. For me it’s Maya, Clare, then Emma Emma was the worst part of the early seasons. Despite how bitchy they could be. I liked Paige and Manny better as potential second leads.
Ironically this video actually came down to a tie 😂 but i swear that was just a happy accident

I think Grace or Tori would be Maya’s
@@cheshirerose2001 I was thinking Tori too, but she was barely in the show. Wish she had stuck around!
@@TheFormerPresidentsDenim Oooh I like this idea. Zoe was definitely more of a lead than Grace or Tori. I liked her character development. Though I wish I could erase the Degrassi Nudes storyline from my memory!
As much as I hate Emma, my one gripe with the show is that she got blamed for starting the rumor. That was 100% all Terri who overheard Emma talking to her friend about a concern she had.
Honestly Clare was annoying to me because she was always whining n her story was just too far fetched
i also love that they had marisol and maya interact! it was a small detail that was missing from almost all of the other sibling relationships besides alli and anya
Same with Toby and Jimmy!
you mean Katie Right? Marisol was Katie best friend
@@Lianspain i know katie was the sister, i was saying that it was cool to have katie’s best friend and maya have scenes together and maya even calls marisol by the nickname katie gave her! it just made the whole bond seem even more realistic
@@b0bduncanKatie and Maya are definitely the best sibling duo, especially when Katie shows up in Next Class it did what Darcy couldn't ever to do Clare (aka not being a deadbeat sister lmao)
@@Amir-qz4bnTrue, it was always so weird to me the writers didn’t have Darcy come back when Claire had cancer. Also when she was pregnant and lost the baby.
I will forever defend Emma with my life, she carried the show! I said what I said 🤭
This might be an obvious one but maybe Manny, Ali, and Tristan, the best friends to these characters who were around for the same amount of time and kind of got grouped into that category of boy obsessed in their introductions
THEY'RE ALL TERRIBLE, but I love your videos.
I liked when Clare told Holly J off about the vibrator. Definitely should have included that burn clip.
Yeah…Holly J needed ice for that because she knew it was true

@@choloyolo8522 when?
@@acailoves When she kissed Zig while he was dating Tori. I know she was fighting with Tori at the time and I know she felt bad afterwards but she’s still far from perfect
I’m taking a guess at the next three characters: Craig, Eli, and Zig
Sean vs. Jay vs. Spinner next!
I'm so glad you did this. Degrasi fans needed this.
Before watching, Maya has the best character development, most realistic story and ends up actually likeable in the end. Team Maya on this one even though I actually personally like Claire better.
Same I adored Maya by the end of the show❤
Facts I like her the most
I personally wouldn't want a Degrassi reboot unless it's in good hands because I didn't think HBO or Warner would've done good because they'll just compare it to Euphoria which Degrassi definitely isn't.
I can't think of one event in which I found Emma to be a sympathetic character. I could never believe Clare would be desired by her love interests- obnoxious and neurotic with terrible style. Maya was a kind of cute, moody teenage "everywoman" that never really required suspension of disbelief.
I always found Maya to be so dull, she was fine when she was with Cam, but after he died she just felt so flat, i deeply disliked her in Next Class
Not even in the pilot with the predator or when Rick held her at gunpoint and she had PTSD afterwards or when she gained anorexia?
I could understand Eli being into Clare since he was a weird bird, but Jake and DREW? Yeah those are just funny.
@@Melissdan I'm saying that I felt the show failed to make the viewer [me] connect to/care about the character, not that they didn't create enough unfortunate circumstances for her.
Claire was such a forced “main” character I still wonder why the writers pushed her to the front so much…
Emma is the best!
I wish the writers wrote Darcy back in some small Claire plots in s10-s11
honestly i can't even remember if darcy was mentioned during her cancer story which is crazy
I think maya was more grounded and I was less annoyed with her than Emma and Clare I enjoyed Maya’s depression arch and the build up after cam
What about Caitlin??? She is literally the OG
she's not included since this is quite obviously abt the next generation and onwards lol
Most people watching this didn’t watch the OG degrassi so it wouldn’t be fair to include her
That’s kinda true. That’s what I’ve always thought. She’s literally been there since The Kids of Degrassi Street.
Why would they interact
Lol love this video. You should do a Craig / Eli / Miles video next since they’re kind of parallels.
5:45 - let's not forget how she threw manny's pregnancy back in her face when manny pointed out what she was doing with jay.
“Because you won’t leave me alone”-Emma
v hurtful especially considering getting pregnant so young can come with trauma and a lot of different feelings. it was a low blow.
Literally just watched this episode on Pluto TV, lol.
She shouldn’t of done it then 😂
That’s what happens, our past affects us and how others view us.
This was the perfect trio to compare, pls do more of these!!!!
The comparison we didn’t know we needed 😂
You definitely make more better characters videos these are 🔥
I'm trying to not let my age and when i started watching Degrassi influence who I think wins, but Emma overall feels like the winner in this fight.
I think Tori was supposed to be the new age Manny/Alli before she “moved away”
also man i love your videos, i was so pleasantly surprised to see there's still active conversation on youtube about my all time favorite show
7 year old me hated Clare with a passion.
Emma is the OG
I liked Clared a lot until she became self-centered, plus to me she was more of a Liberty than an Emma imho she I still liked her.
Didn't care too much for Maya (she's more of an Emma).
Maya is my choice her mental health storyline was very relatable❤
Maya was my favourite for sure! She definitely had her annoying moments but she wasnt an annoying character if that makes sense. Anytime she did do something really annoying it was usually out of worry for others. It was just executed wrongly... but never too extreme. She wasn't.a selfish person just an anxious character for the most part! Of course she had her annoying teen drama moments but so did everyone else. At the end of the dayshe was a teenager!
I LOVE MAYA SHE DESERVES THE WORLD
Personally I pick Maya
Thank you for all your hard work the show was set nicely done because they all had good character developments.
I really gotta go with Maya, cause she’s less annoying than all of them. Emma would most definitely be an anti-vaxxer and anti masker in 2020, and Clare was irritating af to me and boring
I think Emma would be vaccinated
Craig vs Eli vs Miles next?
Yup
They all got under my skin.if I had to keep one,I guess Emma.I wanted to strangle Clare, and I ignored maya
I love this video so much, please do more with other Degrassi characters
Emma is not that bad I also think she has good intentions she just keeps too real. Clare has her moments but she’s not bad and I love Maya ❤
5:21 Samuyil Hyde reference in a Degrassi commentary video
I think Emma had more well known moments, that are remembered mostly through memes, but when I think of Degrassi: I see Claire. Maya's definitely an enjoyable character and she was relatable but Claire essentially WAS Degrassi
Clare had the same old plot recycled and was a pretty one dimensional character compared to Emma and Maya. How you think Degrassi when you see Clare, I will never know.
Definitely enjoyed this! 💯💯💯
Maya is my second favorite female character in degrassi! Zoë is my first
You should do another video on which character is better on each degrassi era I enjoyed the Emma vs Claire vs Maya
And the Craig vs Eli vs Miles too 😊
This was great!!! You should do the other character reincarnation characters like Craig/Eli/miles and manny/ali etc!
My type of convo bc I love them all and a ton of ppl hate them all
Well my personal favorite was Emma but I know people are gonna disagree with me 😬😬😬
Emma & Sean first picture of their first date is ICONIC
I love Emma but she is so annoying. Even her choice of husband pissed me off
Definitely gotta Say Maya wins the relationship round, Claire’s relationships are boring, minus the start of Eclaire and Emma just dated to many people lol but I do love her ending up with Spinner TBH

Do Manni vs Ali vs a third person next
Manny vs Alli vs Tori
Technically Emma was introduced in Degrassi High as a baby 😅 I can understand not including that.
Maya actually was a beast lol emma was just 100% annoying. Clair was annoying but had her moments
Emma actullay has a figured out personality unlike Clare and Maya.
@@codesm96I honestly don't even remember why I said this. You make a good point.
Emma hypocrisy made me instantly fast-forward her scenes.
ready to see paige, holly j and zoey next
Emma and Sean are the best couple. But so is Ellie and Sean do that's confusing.
Your next comparisons should be Manny/Ally/Tristan
Emma hands down
I think one of Clare's iconic moments is the #StuffCareSays video that they made about her
I think Clare was the 'best', only because her character is the only one who had a 'natural' send off.
Can you please do Craig, Eli and, Miles next lol
1 Emma
2 Maya
3 Claire
Wrong
I commented this on another video but Maya > Clare >>> Emma. Emma was just awful, Clare was annoying but understandable and more likable, and Maya was less annoying and had the better character arc.
thanks for this vid❤❤
All of them were so annoying to me but I do be a sucker for Eclare... so idk
So Emma coming on as baby doesn't count?
Caitlyn should be in this video as well
but the fact emma lowkey give manny bulimia and try to control her
omg i can't stand all three but i would have to say maya
I'm saying this before the video because there's no physically possible way you could make me like either option more than her: Emma is better. I'm watching this for fun lmao.
Now that I’ve seen the whole vid here’s my actual opinion-
Clare is in my mind the most iconic.
For me it’s Maya, Clare, then Emma
Emma was the worst part of the early seasons. Despite how bitchy they could be. I liked Paige and Manny better as potential second leads.
Can you do Sean Vs KC Vs Zig Next
Maya is definitely the least annoying out of the three, but I think Clare had the most interesting storylines
So I'm assuming it's either Manny vs Alli vs Zoe or Spinner vs Eli vs Zig next
