Drew was the most annoying character the fact he dated Bianca after she bullied Adam so much and then went to date Becky after he passed away was even more disturbing and disrespectful

They really threw this class as a whole under the bus by their senior year. Their senior was completely focused on Clare, Eli, Drew, Becky and Imogen and the next class kids. All the rest of them were basically extras or already written off the show by then.
They completely underutilized Dallas. We could've seen him navigate planning college while also being a teen dad...a perspective that we barely see. Also, the actor who plays him, Demetrius, was one of the best actors on the show and they barely gave him any material to work with...
Alli's stories get worse when she stop getting reckless, almost like character development wrecked her character, the true irony. Also what happened to Drew, was that the writers kept him around too long
i think with alli, she made some mistakes, but at the end, she was still likeable and always took accountability for her actions, and tried to be the best version of herself.
although Johnny and Dave end up being A-hole. they are the only two I liked with Alli. didn't like Drew, Leo was pathetic, and I just could not warm up to Dallas.
I loved how Becky and her brother were introduced as Floridians I guess to explain why they were soo religious, but in some episodes you can clearly hear their Canadian accents...there was no effort there
You can live in Florida and still have accents.. their parents are probably Canadian and they lived in Florida but we never know but there are a lot of Asian Americans who live in Florida and African-Americans and Hispanic who live in Florida or are born in Florida we have accents probably because their parents have it and they grew up in the household and stuck with the accent it’s common

For example, I have a standard US accent for English but my Spanish is localized to specific Texas regions. However, seeing how Sarah Fisher (Becky's actress) is white, it's not likely she would have an accent if she grew up in Florida because there aren't many broadly white Canadian communities for her accent to be localized. Canada is not an ethnicity so that doesn't really make sense.

The baker family chose to move to Toronto but Cam and Dallas had to find host families to live with. It was sweet because even after being kicked off the team Audra let Dallas stay with them to finish his year and stay near Rocky.

Unpopular Opinion: I love Clare, and the actress who played her was phenomenal!! I remember when holly j tried to embarrass her about having a vibrator and Clare told holly j she should try it so she won't be so stuck up lmao. Clare had some funny lines. in a way I understood Clare, she and I have very similar upbringings.
So the reason Adam's storyline was so abrupt was that the actress playing him wasn't (rightfully) going to take T , and she was starting to develop bigger breasts, and the binder was making it hard to hide her physical body not matching with Adam's, she decided they should part amicably and figured the death from texting would highlight a rather prevalent issue among teens at the time (still is probably). While I identify with Adam the most, and it was nice to see a character like myself in a show like this, I understood that not having a trans person play the role would eventually lead to something like this. She did a great job playing him, no critiques there imo, but yeah if Adam had actually gotten to take T and not been able to show the affects of that, instead getting even more "feminine", it would have been difficult to play off. And I don't blame the actress being done with the role.

Now when she got cancer I felt really bad she was dealing with it but one thing I never liked was that toxic relationship with Eli and Drew that pregnancy storyline went knowwhere but it was still relatable but overall she's was just as worse as Darcy and yet an another Emma knockoff.
It was weird to me that they didn’t even bring Darcy or Clare’s dad back for a cameo to see her in the hospital like 😭😭😭 But Degrassi has always had a huge tendency to forget old characters and sometimes never bring them back unfortunately 💀😂

Technically he even surpassed that because Degrassi messed up the timeline since this class should have graduated in 2012 not 2014. Their relationship story line shitted on Sav for having double standards but I think he should have pulled a Dylan. 💀

I appreciated the humble beginnings of the originals (Clare, Alli, Connor, KC) bc they were the only ones to be in opening credits with Liberty, Emma, and Manny which I like to think of as the enjoyable TNG days lol. Clare was given TOO many stories, and they could’ve went elsewhere but I liked her at times. I have a soft spot for early Alli but s10 Alli pissed me off with the Drew/Bianca drama. She was pretty decent after that. Jenna and that terrible country singing🙄 she was okay by s12. KC bum bd, next. Dave had okay moments, RIP Jahmil. Justice for Adam Torres. I really felt for his character bc his ftm story was sad, like he was literally outted. Dallas was whatever, I stopped fw Degrassi by that point lol. Becky, blah but I’m glad she did right by Zoe. Connor obvi was neuro-divergent and it always showed BUT I liked how he was always himself and comfortable being Connor. He glowed up too😭. Overall, last “palatable” class but could’ve been better
tbf I think Clare was the legacy character the show was going to now revolve around once the last few kids of the Emma era graduated. So naturally she was going to get more storylines.
By far my favorite class and the one I grew up with as well. I think during their time they did well covering important issues like suicide and made it seem like a realistic high school experience.
Becky has such a great character development and her character serves as a great commentary on the difference between evangelical Christian loons and the kind of Christian that actually tries to emulate Christ. I'm very much not Christian or religious in any way but I can at least appreciate the story being told through Becky and her family
Funny info about this class: Claire is in the female character with the most episodes of Degrassi: TNG ever (181). The only other person who beats here is Snake at 197.
out of all the messed up stuff that happens on the show, the scene where Jenna hits KC with the guitar is always extremely shocking to me. it feels like such an out of character moment for Jenna and it's so violent, especially for two kids.
I'm glad u did another one. I've went back and watched the episodes on HBO MAX and now I'm on season 3 of Next Class. This will be my second time to watch every episode. I watched them all on the Roku channel in 2020
I don't know if it's just me, but it really feels like the first half of degrassi focused on the class of 2007 and the second half focused on the class of 2014. Maybe it's because it felt like they tried making Emma and Clare the main characters. Or because we start off degrassi with the class of 2007 and end it with the class of 2014. Either way, it really feels like these are the main two classes of the show.
Yeah I know I know she was supposed to graduate at the end of season 12 same with Drew but they failed so they had to stay another school year in degrassi and they left in season 14

Claire was obviously very entertaining to watch. But I also did have a crush on her in HS so maybe that makes me biased. As far as well-written storylines, I somewhat agree with the Drew pick but I also think that's carried by the Bianca parts.

The storyline at the time was very current with what was going on at the time with the protests and movements.

He was the only sophomore character surprisingly during the season he was in everyone else was a freshman, junior, and senior so he would've graduated with recurring/guest characters that were not worth mentioning. But maybe a video on one off characters would be a great way to feature Cameron. But Cameron may be highlighted on the class of 2016 video
I remember watch bits and pieces of this show when I was younger this the season I grew up on and when Adam died I was mad cuz it was too sudden and outta nowhere I was 8 when I watched this class and I didn't know about trans or gays at the time I did but I never really saw a problem with it I was always fascinated with these characters growing up
Also Alli had that gambling problem with poker (counting cards) and she and Dave actually broke up and were starting to get back together when he got with jacinta. That whole plot was just dropped it say that to say that Dave actually didn’t cheat but he was sorta dishonest.
the craziest thing about this class was the fact they were in high school from literally 2008-2015. at least emma, manny, and liberty went from middle school to college over their long stay on this show.

Yeah, they kept Drew on way too long and you could tell they were out of ideas and didn’t know what to do with him.

Claire was obviously very entertaining to watch. But I also did have a crush on her in HS so maybe that makes me biased. As far as well-written storylines, I somewhat agree with the Drew pick but I also think that's carried by the Bianca parts.

I recently tried to pass the message about a guy cheating ( he cheated with me and didn't say anything about his fiancé) his friend said nothing and the friends wife got mad at me for saying something. I have a few tricks up my sleeve, though.

I really enjoyed the video but wished that you would have atleast included a snippet in the Dallas character time stamp about the time when he and Connor were racially profiled at the mall by police along with other black men 😕. The storyline at the time was very current with what was going on at the time with the protests and movements.

He was the only sophomore character surprisingly during the season he was in everyone else was a freshman, junior, and senior so he would've graduated with recurring/guest characters that were not worth mentioning. But maybe a video on one off characters would be a great way to feature Cameron. But Cameron may be highlighted on the class of 2016 video
