To me the writers missed an opportunity to do in season 7 to expand upon liberty and have her deal with the fact the her birthday will forever be the day that her first love’s life was taken away.
Season seven was the second half of the school year that started in season six. Liberty's next birthday wouldn't be until she was at Smithdale in season 8.
I always thought it was weird how Mia was salty JT didn’t talk about her right before he died. Like. Dude didn’t know he was about to die. Even if it had nothing to do with Liberty…he had no idea what was about to happen 😂
Even though I remember EVERY plot point, watching as an adult is a CRAZY different experience!! I watched an interview with JT's actor, which you can find on TH-cam, but, your comment is 100 percent wrong!. He said he was in complete shock while reading the script and finding out that he was getting killed and written off. I think people take a comment like "he wanted to go to college" and run with it, just bc someone expresses they want to go to college, does not mean they got written out to do so, he was 10000 percent going to stay! One other sad thing was when his management team got the email invite to be in Drake's reunion video "I'm Upset" they thought it was a scam, and so therefor he missed that amazing opportunity that was sooo nostalgic for us! ❤

And Craig the self obsessed serial cheater. But Peter is absolutely up there right up there at the top of the list. Jay has farts for brains but in my opinion he’s not nearly as insufferable as some of the others I’ve listed here. I’ll say one thing for sure they certainly excelled at establishing extremely annoying individuals on this show!
Toby got reduced to supporting character. He appears in the last few seconds of the intro with other side characters like Ashley, Craig, Dylan, Danny, and Derek.
I thought they were over for a little while, then had a realization that all of these videos are 3 hours or longer (which I LOOOOVE) and I can't even imagine how long it takes to be put together! ❤

So many characters were done dirty at this point and my heart has never recovered from the death of JT Yorke. Taking Back Sunday being in the Craig coke episode is WILD for so many reasons. Calling them “a local band” is hilarious. I’ve been a fan of them since 2002 - in fact I’m literally seeing them tomorrow in the year of our lord 2024 so the timing of this video releasing couldn’t be more perfect! I’ll be channeling my inner sad girl Ellie in honor of y’all enjoying this video rn. 🥹
“Ice Cream” honestly this season is very meh for me. The Lakehurst stuff was very half baked and felt like a rushed reason to create drama and a season climax. The class of 2006 didn’t really have any character development, just gained more problems. The class of 2007 honestly was very uninteresting aside from like Emma, Sean, and JT. The Class of 2008 was annoying and most of them have very few likable traits. Darcy, Peter, and Mia were all petty and made dumb choices and Danny and Derek have 0 brain cells I usually watch this season up until the JT death climax and resolution then skip to season 8 cause season 6 and 7 are the worst of the “Emma generation” of Degrassi.

The Alex stripping episodes drive me crazy. In Ontario, tenants get a hearing with the Landlord Tenant Board before they get evicted, and they can work out a payment plan. Likewise they can go to a credit counselor and pay back half the credit card debt with a consumer proposal. Way cheaper and easier than trying to pay it all at once...But of course, credit counseling and tenant court are much less dramatic than a teenage girl stripping to help out her family! 😅

Kind of a weird plot point that never gets addressed.
