    Just clear a scene of measure the temperature of the oil pan by a thermometer. That's inaccurate of the measurement of the oil pan to determine the ATF temperature. There is 6 to 7 °C lower than inside thermosensor was read by MB Star. That's a big difference.

    Hello Mr. Leigh, I greet you from Stuttgart, Germany. You know which car brand is based here 😀 I like watching your videos very much, very instructive, very precise and calm. Are you planning an oil change on the automatic transmission of your 221.194 ? It would be great if you make a video or tutorial on this. I find this a challenging job on the 4Matic as you should drain the oil from the transfer case, which may not have a fill plug and you should also take care of the oil coolers. I find the information in the WIS about changing the automatic transmission oil on the V8 4Matic very jumbled and confusing. It would really be great to see a video from you about this, also for the reason that I could not find any other youtube video about this particular job. All the best to you and your great channel.

    终于新视频了,772.96也是9升,我之前加的8升开了一段时间发现油不够,另外一个显示772.93是7.1,幸亏没有加那么少。

      是,按照9升加最保险。到45度的时候放油,确认油量。

      @@LeighSr 开了一个夏天,前两天补了2升,放出来1升。实际加油量9升左右。772.96 4matic和772.90 rwd加油量差不多。772.93只需要7.1升不确定是什么车型。

    The transmission was not overfilled, but it is not clear if the transmission was under-filled.

      After initial fill, remove drain plug after getting to 45c (operating temp) and whatever amount of fluid comes out, is deemed as excess. Once it starts to drip as shown, you are good.

      @@Uncx Not neceesarily. Fluid will slosh into the leveling tube as the car moves even when the level is low; fluid will always come out when the plug is opened.

    Nice video. I have a W164 and there is no torque converter bolt. So, I’m just going to drop the pan, replace the oil I can drain in the pan and replace the filter. I guess that’s all I can do. Old oil will still mix with new oil.

      Check for a return line from the oil cooler going to the transmission. Open that line, connect a clear hose to it. Have your clean oil line connected to the drain plug of the transmission. Pump 5 liters in the transmission, then start the car. Drain 1 liter, add 1 liter. Do that 4 times. The reason to use a clear hose is to see when the dirty oil becomes clean.
      In conclusion, you’ll need 9 liters of fluid. Use a graded pump to pump the new oil in, drain 1 liter at a time( use the containers in which the new fluid comes in, they are 1 liter). I hope this helps

    What do you think about the idea of adding 2-3 liters and then draining out after a few minutes as a way or refreshing the fluid in between services?

      Actually, I don't think that is useful to reduce the oil sludge adhering to the bottom of the oil pan. The transmission is a relatively closed space, so ATF is not as easy to oxidize and deteriorate as engine oil.

      For some earlier 7G-tronic models, you couldn't drain the torque converter, as it didn't have its own drain plug. Therefore, when you dropped the pan and changed the ATF and filter you were putting back 2-3L less than the capacity due to the ATF left in the converter. So when you "replaced" your ATF, you were only getting about 70% new fluid. This is essentially equivalent to what you are suggesting (partial rather than complete ATF change), and it was SOP for MB for those models/years. So yeah, that's a viable method of improving your ATF situation between complete changes IMO.

    奔驰的变速箱对工作温度、液位非常敏感。在国内的4s,都是以重力方式换油,因为循环换油如机器压力控制精度低,容易冲坏变速箱内的阀体、密封圈,造成损失。

      在奔驰的车间指导手册里,有change ATF和flush ATF两种操作,目的不一样。是换油和冲洗两种行为。如果是4S店,应该配备奔驰专用的冲洗机,操作上是没问题的。但4S店因为懒惰(包括美国),都只放掉油底壳的油,不放变矩器里的油。

      @@LeighSr 我都会监督施工,变扭器里的油必须更换。放干净后再用压缩空气吹一下,吹出残余的油液。

    李先生好!真是羨慕您有那樣的場地和工具可以時常自行對懷疑的事件作仔細的檢查,我的車齡剛過三年,才接近六萬公里,就發現她的變速箱油底殼是潮濕的,我的觀察是油底殼墊片不良所產生輕微滲漏雖然沒有滴漏,但總是讓人擔心。我是沒有環境及工具自行做變速箱換油、換濾網、清洗及更換墊片等等的動作,如果是您,請問我是立刻去賓士廠花大筆的錢讓他們服務,還是找家小型工廠利用他們的工具設備按照您的換油程序換油即可?

    溫度低於攝氏30度放油、溫度45度測量油量(補充新油或洩放多餘的油),請教一下:如果我每隔3000哩、洩放低溫時的舊油、不頂開溢油管、計算舊油量、在溫度45度加入與舊油同等量的新油,這樣可行嗎?(就是每次交換1-2公升)感謝回覆!

      可以這樣做,但是意義不大。變速箱油的壽命至少7萬哩,變速箱裡最髒的是濾芯和油底殼的油泥沈積。
