T-Lopes is the expression of how crazy we were about Sega, in Europe in general, and Portugal in particular... Just pure insanity, the Mega Drive blew our minds...

@@SGWolfie Well, for context, videogames only got popular and finantially accessible in the early 90's, since it was really hard to convince parents to buy games to their kids, the stores allowed anyone to try out games on request. Also, they had these really well printed pamphlets that kids could take home and stare at for hours instead of doing their homework. As more and more kids started having Mega Drives at home, they'd bring their friends in, and the reas is as usual. I actually never owned a Mega Drive, I played at friend's homes. I had a Game Gear though! What a loveable piece of shit that was...
So, Sonic became a bit of a mascot for videogames overall, since it's debut coincided with Sega's arrival in Portugal.
Glad to see another portuguese in love with Tee Lopes style in video game music :)

It's 2023 and I still play Sonic Mania twice a year and I never get sick of it. Best Sonic soundtrack EVER. And I'll fight anyone to the death who disagrees. Banger after Banger after BANGER.
According to Tee himself his last name is pronounced “Law-psh” but he doesn’t expect anyone to realise that and is fine with people pronouncing it as “Loaps”.
I like the Flying Battery Zone Act 1 remix Tee Lopes posted on TH-cam more then the one in Mania that was posted way before Mania was a thing. But overall these remixes are legit. There mind blowingly good. Lol Even the weaker remixes that are too much like the original were just, good. Which is only a testament. 👍
Studioplos act 2 is my favorite track from the game.

What about Egg Reverie Zone? For that zone it has to be the top of the super sonic style tier list right.
Sonic was so big in Australia there was a sonic theme park in Sydney. Unfortunately I never got to go since it closed shortly after Sonic exited the Console Wars.
You missed the opportunity to name C tier the sonic quote "Come on, step it up!"
Seriously though, a top tier song track. I personally think this and Undertale are on the same level when it comes to the music. And that's a huge compliment.

@@Hastifomal not in terms of quality but in terms of production, sonic mania had a bigger team while toby composed most of the music by himself so it would obviously sound more professional but toby did a damn good job of invoking emotion while sonic mania just has back to back banger after banger head bop songs
I used to have a theory that the all the New Zones except for Titanic Monarch were originally supposed to be Sonic 3 & Knuckles stages but they had to replace them due to the Music rights, and the Original Zones i though were replaced are

Press Gardens for Ice Cap Zone
Mirage Saloon for that one Desert Zone (A good change imo cause the ghosts were bullshit)

Sad that the tier list didn't include Super Sonic, imo it's the best classic Super Sonic theme yet. A S tier for sure

Flying Battery and Death Egg aren't remixable. They've literally perfect tracks (and actually have the same melody). The bassline in DE1 is peerless.

Well I have some controversial opinions it seems. The Flying Batteries are no higher than B tier, likewise Green Hill Act 1. Press Garden Act 1 > Act 2 (not because 2 isn't wonderful, just because 1 is SO good). Chemical Plant Act 1 > Act 2. I'd knock both Oil Oceans and Lava Reef Act 1 down a tier. Wanting to make the tiers meaningful, they can't just all go at the top, B tier isn't bad at all. I prefer Knuckles Act 1 to Act 2 in Mirage Saloon, but I still know why Act 2 gets so much love. Metallic Madness Act 2 > Act 1. Titanic Monarch Act 1 > Act 2.
And probably my most controversial opinion. The Hydrocitys are the sole inhabitants of Meh Burger C tier. Both were and are, so overrated. Least interesting stage tracks in the game. Still solid stage tracks and nowhere near Ken Penders D tier, nothing on this soundtrack was ever gonna get a "bad" rating.
All just opinions of course! And we're all celebrating an awesome soundtrack and that's the main fun of it. :)
