That third spring on the steering wheel… I could only find two holes on the back of the steering wheel to wiggle the spring and then spent a considerable time trying to locate the third, which I couldn’t, so ended up wriggling it until it came out. Is there a trick?
Nice video Dave, I have an Audi A6 saloon and ABS light tyre pressure light and cruise control then doesn't work either. All happens after turning steering wheel to right for a fairly tight turn when moving. Must try it when stationary!! Can be okay on motorway and no turns to do after restarting car. Maybe similar problem??. ABS sensor def Okay as works other times
hi i have a question regarding clocksprings, i have a polo 6R basically the same car as in this video just mine is a 2010, anyways, for some time now when i turn the steering wheel, i can hear a low creaking sound when turning either side, today i took the top cover off the steering wheel and inspected from all angles, to my surprise the front cover has come off of the clockspring and is loose and i can slightly see the ribbon on the inside through the edges, tried pushing the front cover back in without taking the wheel off but no look and to add the clockspring is working fine as my car does not have the buttons on the wheel and the horn works perfectly, just the creaking that has bothered me for some time and now seeing that the cover has come off makes me wonder was this creaking due to the clockspring. what are your thoughts? how is it possible for the front cover to come loose or is that normal?
Hi Dave I have an airbag light on my seat Ibiza fr sport 2019 with error code b10001b. Says the driver airbag resistance is to high but everything works on the steering wheel fine any ideas please
Hi Dave, I have a polo 2015. My airbag light is on, no cruise control, no seatbelt warning light and no stop start. Is this all related to the clock spring?
Not sure Pete, seems original ok. These ones are cheap as there are no electronics on board. Larger vw's not so cheap as have electronics. However, some Polo's have SAS at the steering wheel. 2 different types
Bit of a random question, but I was just watching your videos on your Toyota Hilux Surf, what's your thoughts on using waste oil for rust proofing underneath on a car or Jeep etc ?

Great video! No stupid music, no bull***t, no wasting of time. Just the most important things. Thank you!
Thanks for another informative video. Every days a school day for me watching your channel. 👍
Thanks for the video. Doing same job tomorrow on the wife’s 2017 Ibiza.

Got mine booked in with my local garage on Monday.
What key did you use to disassemble the steering wheel?
Did you have to remove air bag light with the scanner?

Very nice
This part is pretty expensive for my touran 2011.
You have any idea about aftermarket part, does it have any issues or difficulties?
bud, can i put an airbag in my polo with the same connectors same wiring loom but a different parts number. thank you in advance...
Cheers Dave good to know as the kid has a 15 plate polo 👍

Good work Dave. Did look a wee bit tricky removing the bag 👍

Quale chiave devo utilizzare per svitare quella vite centrale nel volante
The clock spring is quite cheap, would you think someone was in there before you Dave and fitted it arseways ? 🤔

How did the airbag warning light stop lighting
@@EldridKersouw by fixing it, it's what the video is about
Nice work Dave. Looking forward to the next one. CHEERS
Hi Dave, where did you order the replacement clock spring from?
Volkswagen dealer
Once again Dave another top job done 👍👏
That looks like it's not going to be an easy air bag to remove. Haven't come across that one yet. Cheers mate
Nearly always a faff removing a steering wheel air bag. Did you keep the old clock spring screws Dave or is it just me that hoards stuff😂
Nice one, clock springs are by design and function a failure waiting to happen
All vws are not created equal. I replaced the clock spring on a 2013 Passat. It had 4 or 5 connectors including sas. It was very troublesome to code.
yes, as mentioned towards the end of the video
for 49 quid its not even worth looking at second hand ones . have a good weekend dave
thanks 🙌🙌
Cool cool..
