Nice tour, great setup. I really wish on all these Smart Tours (yours and others) that there would be an overlay showing the product name, if it is native Homekit, and possibly price range. Watching on the TV I have to then look at my phone to see if gadgets are listed in the lengthy description.

@@GeorgeLangabeer I eventually went to the app on my phone to see some of the products shown. I found the video on the TH-cam app on the TV and, as a first-world problem, I had to pull out my phone.

Great video. Have you incorporated your Reolink cameras into Apple home? Scrypted, homebridge or something else?
I have not. I have no interest in having my cameras (Reolink or otherwise) in HomeKit Secure Video. Until they update the platform, I’m done. These cameras have tons of great features and I’m not going to waste them worrying about having them in Apple Home. This might sound like a bitter comment, but please know that it’s not bitter towards you, it’s bitter towards Apple. lol
I agree with you. I have my cameras record on their own. However, I like the Apple TV screen pops. When somebody pulls in my driveway, they come up on my tv’s
Smart car edition would be cool. What do you use to clean your car ?
I like it! I use the Eufy H30 to vacuum my ride.
@GeorgeLangabeer Does the Ecobee security alarm sound on the Apple Home Pods? I currently have 2 Ecobee Premiums with the security plan but when the alarm goes off, I can’t really hear it in the master bedroom.
No, it does not. That would be a great feature though.

Are you utilizing Ecobee as your security system since you have their sensors on the doors/windows? What has your experience been like there?
Yes I have. If you don't mind the monthly fee, It's a great security system. Sensors are very reliable and the thermostat works great as a keypad. I'm not currently using their cameras, but if you add them to the mix, the experience is even better.
@@GeorgeLangabeer - does it bother you that it doesn’t expose a security system to HomeKit? Do you just rely on ecobee app and shortcuts? Any other workarounds I’m missing?
Doesn’t bother me at all. All the sensors are still in HomeKit & that’s what matters to me.

I hope to at some point. I’m about to have a surgery that’s going to require some recovery time. So I’m going to have to take a few weeks off. But when I’m back, that doorbell is on the list. I’m really liking it so far though. It’s been very reliable.

My HomePods can detect the sound of my “dumb” smoke alarms, so no need for an actual “smart” smoke alarm.
That remote is like $1,200 😅
And it’s worth every penny. It’s basically a premium Android SmartPhone/Tablet in the form of a remote.
