Thank you for your hard work in putting these videos together, Anna. The learning format is very beginner friendly and your pace is gentle and effective. Please keep up the good work. You make learning Finnish less intimidating. ☺
Erinomaista työtä, Anna! I worked in Finland 20 years ago and loved the country and the people, so I'm trying to build on the little Finnish I learned then. Kiitos paljon!!
Kiitos paljon, Anna! I'm currently dating a Finnish guy. Most of the time we speak English with each other. So I decided to start learning some to surprise him. hehe Love your channel so far!
Kiitos paljon Anna! I am thinking of moving to Finland in a few months and wanted to learn Finnish. Your lessons are great! Very helpful. Much love from India!
Thank you Anna, I am learning Finnish these days via online course! I have very much difficulty to learn but your lessons are awesome and great help!Thank you very much and keep up the fantastic work.kiitos
...dear Anna, this is soooooo hard! 😅😅😅😅 Although i have my learning diary and i’m writting everything down, i don’t know when i’m gonna use Finnish 😆 Kiitos anyway for good job! Moikka from Croatia! 😎
Hi anna.I am learning Finnish from you from last week because I love finland🇫🇮,I wish I can come in Finland in future. Now I live in Italy🇮🇹,I am a student of 7th grade.Basically I am from india🇮🇳.you are the teacher to teach me Finnish
hi anne The best person to teach the Finnish language. I learned a lot from your videos. Thank you. for your effort, but I have a question. In the first question, where do you live, we used missa, and in the second question, where are you from, we used mista. What’s the difference?
1. What's your name - mikä sinun nimesi on My name is Derek - minun nimeni on Derek. I'm Derek - minä Olen Derek How old are you - kuinka vanha olet. 2.
Terve! Im not sure if your still operating this channel, but i have a question. I plan on watching all of these anyways but i need help with the finnish past-tense/suffixes and im wondering if you could recommend one or more of your videos or external sources.
hi, I'm newbie, from Vietnam, it's pretty nice lesson, but ^^ I don't know why we question with "nimesi" then we answer with "nimeni"? it's always like that? Kiitos!
Hello, #FinnishWithAnna I hve a question: Why the word Where, in the first sentence is Missä and in the second sentence is Mistä ? 2- I notice taht in the first sentence with Missä the answers ending have -ssa , and in the second sentence with Mistä the sentence ending are with -sta Does it mean someting, or just a coincidence?
Hi Renato! The difference is that "missä" translates to English as "where", but "mistä" translates as "where from" - Finnish just has one word to convey the question "where from". It is this difference in questions that causes the change in cases (suffixes).
Since "nimeni" or "nimesi" has the suffixes for "my" and "your," is it required to use the pronoun? For example, would "nimeni on Aeturnalis" suffice, or is "minun" necessary?
"Missä" is "where" and "mistä" is "where from". For example: "Missä sinä asut?" = "Where do you live?" and "Mistä sinä olet kotoisin?" "Where are you from?". Hope this helps.
Ignoring the ethical issues, can a native speaker please tell me which of these sentences (for "I eat a vegan diet except for fish") is better Finnish (or are both / neither any good?) ... Syön vegaanista ruokavaliota kalaa lukuun ottamatta. Syön vegaaniruokavaliota paitsi kalaa.
Kitos but in this lesson i am so confused why you change the name of country this is very weird and for the question where you ve said missa then mista what is the difference !!!!!!!

I guess Finns really like tasty food since they have one word for favorite dish
;-D
Actually, it's two words stuck together, lempi (favorite) and ruoka (food). Finnish does this a lot. :-)
@@FinnishWithAnna I thought that was the case since you do the same with numbers.
@@FinnishWithAnna poppppppppppp

Yes, you can say either "minun nimeni on" or just "nimeni on". Same goes for the others, too, like "nimesi on" and so forth.

I have some question to ask from you about of Finnish language.
has word order rules?
When should write missa and when should write mista? 🤔 Is there rule for that?
"Missä" is "where" and "mistä" is "where from". For example: "Missä sinä asut?" = "Where do you live?" and "Mistä sinä olet kotoisin?" "Where are you from?". Hope this helps.
@@crispygift thanks alot
we need alot of vocabulary bcuz i try to build a sentence but i dont know many words
can anyone explain why did she use "millaisesta" instead of "millainen"?
millaisesta is the elative singular form of millainen
It’s would be great if you can provide a normal form of countries
I live in India in Finnish language
