    That's amazing! This is the first language I've studied in which the word for email isn't "email." Excellent work, people of Suomi!

      :-D Email is also used in Finnish, but sähköposti is the native word.

      In French email is courriel electronique, but "email" will be understood too!

    HERE and THERE is another tricky thing in Finnish.
    As far as I know:
    (1) Tässä/täällä (here) and tuossa/tuolla (there) expresses NO MOVEMENT;
    (2) Tänne ("to" here) and tuonne/sinne ("to" there) expresses MOVEMENT.
    ***AM I RIGHT?
    It would be very nice (sugestion) if you made a special vídeo explaining this TRICKY feature of Finnish.
    How would I say in kirjakieli (you singular) the following?
    1. Come here. Go there.
    2. Bring it here. Take it there.
    3. Put it here. Put it there.
    4. It is here (a book). It is there.
    5. What were you doing here? What were you doing there?
    This is so tricky that there are other words related such as: siinä, siellä;
    And also is tricky the difference between tässä, täällä and tuossa, tuolla.
    THANKS FOR READING THIS LONG REQUEST.

      Yes, you are right about (1) and (2). Thanks for the video suggestion, I'll put demonstrative pronouns on my list!

      Yes, Finnish cases are indeed complicated, but don't worry too much about it, Finns will probably understand you even if you use the wrong case. :-) Glad you find my videos useful, thanks for watching and for your kind comment!

    How do you say I'm a truck driver?
    I get paid to stare out the window all day haha so what better use I can make of my time than to learn a language .

    • @FinnishWithAnna
      @FinnishWithAnna  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can say this in a few different ways, depending on what kind of truck you drive. A big truck, you'd say "Olen rekkakuski/rekka-auton kuljettaja". A smaller one (lorry type), you'd say "Olen kuorma-auton kuljettaja" (kuski is a shorter form of kuljettaja). Good luck on your language learning!

    "mitä teet työksesi" seems like literally " what do you do for (as part of) your job". Can I say simply "mikä sinun työsi on"? Is it properly?

    • @FinnishWithAnna
      @FinnishWithAnna  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, definitely, you've translated it correctly! And yes, you can ask "Mikä sinun työsi on?", although it's not a common way to put it, but Finns would understand it!

    Wait ! Does that mean that owning a bet horse is common in Finland, that's so unfair haha !

    • @FinnishWithAnna
      @FinnishWithAnna  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sure, I keep my horse in the kitchen! ;-D I actually thought if I should include another smaller pet instead, but since there are a lot of horse lovers in especially the younger generations, I chose the horse. :-)
