- The United States says it is involved in intensive diplomatic efforts to prevent a further escalation in the conflict between Israel and Hezbollah.
More than 32 people were killed and 2,450 people injured after thousands of walkie-talkies and pagers exploded in Lebanon.
Multiple sources say Israel's Mossad spy agency was targeting Hezbollah members, but Israel has not commented on the blasts.
On Wednesday, Israel's Defence Minister Yoav Gallant announced "a new phase in the war”.
The UN General Assembly has also adopted a Palestinian-drafted, non-binding resolution demanding Israel end "its unlawful presence in the Occupied Palestinian Territory" within 12 months.

Public diplomacy in Israel refers to Israel's efforts to communicate directly with citizens of other nations to inform and influence their perceptions, with the aim of garnering support or tolerance for the Israeli government's strategic objectives. Historically, these efforts have evolved from being called "propaganda" by early Zionists (when the term was considered neutral), with Theodor Herzl advocating such activities in 1899,[1] to the more contemporary Hebrew term "hasbara" introduced by Nahum Sokolow, which translates roughly to "explaining". This communicative strategy seeks to justify actions and is considered reactive and event-driven.
In recent times, Israel has shifted toward calling its efforts "public diplomacy", indicating a strategic move away from a defensive posture to a more proactive and comprehensive approach. This involves various forms of communication and interaction with foreign publics, including mass communication through social media and traditional media, as well as cultural diplomacy. Key Israeli government bodies involved in public diplomacy include the IDF Spokesperson's Unit, the Prime Minister's Office, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and pro-Israeli civil society organizations.
The history of Israeli public diplomacy dates to the early 20th century, with notable efforts during the pre-statehood period, the establishment of the state, and significant developments in response to changing geopolitical challenges. Methods employed range from traditional media outreach to digital campaigns, with a focus on shaping foreign public opinion, particularly in the United States, and coordinating with diaspora Zionist organizations to promote a favorable narrative of Israel. This multifaceted approach reflects Israel's ongoing efforts to navigate complex international dynamics and bolster its global standing.

Israel has not only the right to defend itself against terrorists. Israel has the right to fight against all terrorists that fight against them. Israel has also the right to fight against all those who support those terrorists that fight against them either financially, politically or militarily. Saying only that Israel has the right to defend itself against terrorists is in reality a poorly disguised effort to limit those Israel`s rights. Israel has the same rights to fight against terrorism as all other countries have. Everybody trying to limit those rights for Israel is in reality supporting terrorism against Israel.
The act of targeting enemy combatants in a neighbouring jurisdiction, without discernment or due regard for civilian casualties, constitutes an act of terrorism. The deliberate detonation of devices in public places, such as shops and on the streets, cannot be reasonably construed as an act of "defence"; rather, it amounts to terrorism.
On the previous day, the explosion of a mobile phone shop provides evidence that the devices in question were substituted within the ordinary civilian supply chain, and not one exclusive to Hezbollah or any paramilitary organisation. This demonstrates that Mossad was or ought to have been aware that civilians, including those in non-combatant roles, would likely acquire these devices. It is well known that medical professionals, particularly those within hospital settings, are frequent users of pagers due to their resilience to interference from radiological equipment -that is just a single example of use by a specific group who are not enemy combatants.
It is therefore clear that the Israeli Government, or its agents, proceeded with full knowledge and intention that civilian harm was foreseeable. Such actions fall squarely within the parameters of what constitutes terrorism under both domestic and international law.
At what point are Israel the terrorists? After another 40,000 deaths?
Right stop terrorism then peace will come why do you see other people as enemy.
Israel is a US military base if America took away their security garinties and funding the Arab countries would be able to stop Israel but America already destabilized them for decades which is the reason all these terror groups exist (Iraq Syria Afghanistan Libya) so really America is a joke and will lose any influence in the middle east and Israel will be in a forever war for the next 2 decades until America loses interest and leave Israel like it did the afghan provisional government
