Did you try rip Subnautica shaders? You could sell up a display stand in injury with these shaders to be able to look at the changes your made. Paint textures in Photoshop and see results immediately. No need to use substance painter just to see that it looks different after you finished.
@@JNJNRobin1337i mean the first problem is making it in the first place, streamlining a task can’t be done when the task is physically impossible So I can see why it’s not easier given they just did it for the first time recently
I also love how one of the reasons is that, due to the way Subnautica uses some texture maps being just plain wrong but them being used this way across the ENTIRE game, he had to spend time to figure out how to get things working in spite of this Now, as for _why_ the devs made it work this way, in my mind the term _"technical debt"_ makes the most sense here (if you don't know what that means, you should, it's very much a common theme in today's games industry, *ESPECIALLY* in AAA where it can get 10x worse in only 10% of the time because of company bureaucracy nonsense)

Absolutely amazing mod! I'm so excited about this DLC-level content that feels as polished as an official expansion. I have a suggestion: would it be possible to integrate this mod into the game's story so that the signal to the first Void island could be received from the final alien base? damn. A quick question, will call of the void have compatibility or/and planed interaction with return of the ancient ? if i instal both, will Gargy destroy me before i ever can reach the void biome ?
We're not putting any effort towards compatibility and would rather focus our efforts on the mod itself. We prefer to deliver a great product on it's own, than a mediocre product you can add things onto.
Just a quick question, what will happen to the development of this mod when subnautica 2 comes out? will it stop, will you continue working on it or try and change to to a mod for subnautica 2?
Also, Each version could force changes to the mod itself to make it work in the game. This is most evident in games that have been updated after a long time, and mod developers have forgotten about their work...
When the full mod comes out, is there going to be any incentive to reach the PCF like the original game? Or are 90% of players going to ignore the original plot and not even go to the active lava zone?
The hydra shard video tells you how to install the mod and what you need. Once you've downloaded all the necessary mods you need to put them into the plugins folder in subnautica.
To put it objectively: - The sound design team (me, Junezi and Yuli) aren't overloaded with tasks, and we can manage working on all of the sound and music for the mod without need for another sound designer. - We are perfectly capable for what's needed in the mod, and I believe we'll deliver properly. - The team doesn't want to work with Simon. - Simon probably wouldn't want to work with the team even if we asked him to. TLDR: we don't need him
@@marbulOfficial its your mod and if you dont want to work with simon i respect that. I just thought that it would fit for a mod on that level to get the guy who made the OSTs for the original game
This mod is all about taking something that was developed with love to detail and player fun in mind - and then expand and improve on it! Why should the handling of the sound be any different? You do you - if the progress of the hydra is any indication at all, we'll have some great soundtrack to look forward to!
How will you find the Blueprint for the Hydra submarine? I think it'd be cool if you could find it in a secret room within the aroura Also, will there be more wrecks and destroyed lifepods within the void that we will be able to find?

Nexus mods and vortex
@@PoseidonOnLaptop thank you
Is it possible for you to hire simon chylinski for the OSTs its the same guy who made the original Soundtracks of subnautica it would be soooo good
To put it objectively:
- The sound design team (me, Junezi and Yuli) aren't overloaded with tasks, and we can manage working on all of the sound and music for the mod without need for another sound designer.
Absolutely not.
Our sound designers are better anyways :p
@Crimson-Dust I see your point tho! ^^
but due to everything we mentioned so far it will not occur :p
This mod is all about taking something that was developed with love to detail and player fun in mind - and then expand and improve on it!
Why should the handling of the sound be any different?
You do you - if the progress of the hydra is any indication at all, we'll have some great soundtrack to look forward to!
How to get the hydra dock I love it
Icant wate to play this mod. But i'm going to hang out till full release. Any likely time frame on that
I tryed to use the hydra but i have a heavy modded game and i did not managed to make the Hydra work..
Awesome
How will you find the Blueprint for the Hydra submarine? I think it'd be cool if you could find it in a secret room within the aroura
Also, will there be more wrecks and destroyed lifepods within the void that we will be able to find?
I’m pretty sure it will be found on the island that is guarded by the silence leviathan
In the shard, it is automatically in your database
How you get the Hydra is still a secret :)
As for wrecks, we're not sure yet!
modding subnautica seems to be a big pain
whats your pc specs
will this mod be free and on nexus?
Yes and yes!
