    Addicted to the custom segment 🥾🐸
    I am thinking about a next pair but in AR with JG lug in Horween or Roughout Buffalo leather, no speed hooks and perhaps with that Numzaan tongue. Steel toe cap. Olive stitching ;)
    Regards to JGF fans!
    From me: Recent Numzaan buyer

    Ive spent $1,000 ,on jim green in less than 6 months and i want another pair 😂 lol.
    So far the quality is exceptional 👌, i had to by a pair for my brother & Dad.... and now my uncle wants one too... I'm happy to buy them a pair as long as its the bearfoot styles for their knee issues/ lower back issues. They are one of those narrow cowboy boot users that have claw toes, and knee pain from tight narrow toe box and hard big heels on the boot.....for style.
    i highly recommend going with the bearfoot syle boots they have. Some people say they look like clown shoes and like a more narrow shoe for style... to that i say rubbish.
    Only reason to have a narrow shoe is your toes are deformed from the tight shoes , let the toes expand and your feet will heal. Removing all needs of orthodic stuff, for good foot health. Which translates to lifting heavier weights, running and walking further and faster, more balance, better knees, and helps with back pain/ issues.
    Now for a party, sure take the narrow shoe, with heels , they can look nice, but for everyday use is not good for your feet / health

    I can't wait to customize my next pair of African Rangers! Could the website implement some sort of preview of the customization during the selection process? It would really help me choose what I want best. Thanks Jim Green! Best boots in the world!

      Good day and thanks for the feedback! We are looking into methods of generating a preview for custom orders. Our Custom Boot Builder is still in the early stages and we have some great plans for this feature in the future 💪🙌

    I enjoy seeing the options. These videos get people thinking about getting another pair even when we don't really need another pair! I got Barefoot African Rangers after first learning of this company just a few months ago then got 2 pairs of vellies in different leathers since they're on sale for $99. Well, I went for a custom pair myself a few weeks ago. Shoellies on a barefoot last. The tapered silhouette of the normal Shoellie won't cut it for me. I'm a thin guy but my toe splay is abnormally wide. I'll hopefully have them in a couple weeks from now.

    I love these videos with multiple boots! I want some customs and it is really helpful to see different combinations. I wish during customization they had something like Nike or van’s where it shows the boot as you go so you can see how the boot looks with the choices you make as you go

    Just got my custom order yesterday, I went with the African Rangers in Houston Black, no toe stiffener, triple stitching on all the panels, white stitch down thread, leather midsole and the standard outsole. I was pretty tempted to go with the lug sole as I have the AR8's and love them but I wanted a softer stepping boot that's closer to a sort of overbuilt sneaker than work boots.

  • @mikeisgettinupset
    @mikeisgettinupset 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

    Those AR's with the lug soles look DAMN GOOD. I like my normal rangers, but now am definitely considering getting a pair with the lug sole and the unstructured toe. Have you guys considered experimenting with zippers for your 6"+ boots? I think an AR8 with the lug sole and a zipper on the inside would be KILLER

    This is a weird question but how grippy is the oringo sole. I’m looking for something that can handle snow and mud. I’m from Wisconsin in the u.s.

    • @popuppete
      @popuppete 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I’m near Buffalo so a bit warmer but similar climate.
      I know ice is alway slippery, but I thought the Oringo sole was still below average on the ice. I prefer a 6 inch cut or higher for the snow, the rangers are a little short for that.
      It’s sole good for anything above freezing. It does a good job shedding mud so you aren’t carrying it all with you.
      Even though it’s a similar composition, The Anvil sole is surprisingly good on the ice. I think the barefoot style gives some more ground feedback so you can react more quickly to poor traction.

    Are the steel toe caps a different size than the composite that y’all offer? Is there a difference in width or height between the two?

    • @JimGreenFootwearOfficial
      @JimGreenFootwearOfficial  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Both steel and composite toe boots are built on the same last (the mold the shoe is shaped on). This means the overall size and width would be consistent between the two options, however the steel toe has a lower profile with a snugger toe box. The composite toe has a slightly higher profile with a roomier toe box.

      Good day and thanks for getting in touch, what you mention above is rather strange and a first. Our insert in our boots is removable and adjustable, we would recommend playing around with the insert and readjusting it in the boot. This should prevent the rubbing of leather to the insert which we believe could be the cause, should you not have any luck with this please kindly get in touch and we shall happily assist further on the situation 💪🙌🐸

    Makes you wonder just how many custom boots are ordered every week

    • @oscarbear7498
      @oscarbear7498 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I ordered a pair, after watching a few of these videos lol. Ehh why not:)
      and the price is not bad to get exactly what you want. Although I would say to first buy a normal pair In a last (the foot mold the boot is based on) to make sure you like it. So you know what size you like with what last.
      The only issue with custom is the wait time as it takes a month to make, and the shipping Is more expensive too.
      Vs the boots already made and here in the USA ready to ship. got to my door in less than a week.
      It's a cool talking point with friends , as nobody will have south African boots, and you can tell them it's custom made to show off 😂

      @oscarbear7498 I ordered my first pair of good boots from jim Green last week, I got a pair of custom ARs and plan on waiting a bit, I walk a minimum of 10km a day ( just under 6.5 miles) and have been decimating my everlasts and sketchers, can't wait to get something that will hold up for more then a few month!

      @oscarbear7498 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@brunoventina7619 thats going to be a huge upgrade coming from sketchers.
      What kinda terrain are you typically walking on?

    • @brunoventina7619
      @brunoventina7619 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @oscarbear7498 mostly asphalt and the occasional hike, I've very regrettably bought jeep boots and though I've used them for 6 months now they look at least 10 years old with the cracking, regardless of conditioning.
      Wanting to go all out on durability to compensate, I bought buffalo leather ARs and got them double lined for extra waterproofing and warmth

    • @oscarbear7498
      @oscarbear7498 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@brunoventina7619 oh you made a great choice. 👍 the sole will be great for constant walking on hard surfaces, and on occasion hikes, you could even just do hikes all day and still be fine. They are overkill in construction so will do you good in handling tasks.
      To give you an idea I live in south texas in a desert 🏜 with mesquite thorns at 2 inches , cactus and extremely hot environments. I am 155lb anf not a single thorn has gotten in. I am a ranch hand, so I'm doing heavy lifting of farm equipment, sacks of feed, moving horses, walking in brush at times steping on thorns , rough stuff like in Africa. The boots are amazing super comfortable.
      You might be in a colder area , adding wool socks would go great with the boots for very cold, although i havnt tested them in the cold myself. The water resistance is real because of how the stitching is done and a high toung, my boots are single lined and water doesn't get in. The leather is rare of African Buffalo 🐃 so you can show off to your friends for exotic skin, in pretty sure nobody has that.
      I've been testing the bearfoot african ranger and I've tested
      Jeep boots😂 sadly majority of boot have gone to hell cutting corners. Timberlands, Justin's, Nike, Ariat, under armor, etc. When you see cut down videos of the boot sliced in half to show its construction it's nothing but garbage.
      They sell cheap materials since majority of people don't even know what a "last" is for example and they wont see the internals. So they make the boot look nice outside then in the inside put cheap synthetic junk like foam, cork, skip stitching, cheap leathers or fake leathers.
      highly recommend now that you'll have good boot to learn more about shoemaking so you can better tell good boots from gimmicks because I previously didn't, I was buying junk not knowing about boot materials like the average person.
      I leaned alot through jim green because they show everything of how a boot is made , why the construction, materials and go into detail.
      The devil is in the detail .so now I know about good year welts, last choices , why a vegtan sole, why the type of stitching, etc. The quality currently can not be beat, I've searched far and wide and for the price is unmatched for its craftsmanship.
      I would still recommend picking up the bearfoot african ranger boots in a color you like to try them, they have 6 different colors. I have 2 pairs one for work and one for going out and are very comfortable and light weight. For going grocery shopping, church, mall, etc... Even gym for 🏋️‍♂️ for lifting weights because like weight lifting shoes they too are zero drop.
      Mostly incase your work ARs are dirty and you don't have time to clean them you have a spare boot.
