Ordered my pair this morning. Its absolutely amazing to see how much hard work goes into making the boots we get to wear! Thank you to all of the hard working people at Jim Green!!
*Weston is awesome! This is a great collab with the amazing Jim Green company! Jim Green worked really hard to make really cool boots with suede and smooth leathers! I like the results of the design!*
Would love to see a video where you use your leather balm on rough out leather. Would be helpful for those of us that got the Rugged Trooper and want to get them ready for the elements. Thanks.
I love that Jim Green listens to what their customers want! This boot is awesome! Not what I personally need, but it's a great addition to the Jim Green lineup. Looking forward to adding more JG boots to my stable in the future!
Mine just arrived this morning. I wear an 11.5 EEE/5E JK Boots super duty. They fit just like the barefoot troopers size wise(12). I went a half size up to 12.5 for this pair, to wear thicker socks and use 7/8oz veg tan insoles I cut. They came with really nice half leather half foam insoles that make the boot super comfy. I swapped them out for mine since I prefer the firmer feel. The soles have a nice radius to the fore foot that allows them to rock a little instead of feeling super flat and locked into the ground. Soles are way softer than V100 Redx. They are really lightweight compared to the superduty boots, almost feel like the trainer/hiking version of a pnw.
Wore them all day with thick socks. These boots are awesome! Super comfortable, lightweight, breath well, have good support, nice ground feel, soft enough sole to be comfy on pavement. They are quiet too, good sneaky boots. The heel counter is stiff for sure, and will slip a little if you don’t have thick ankles. I will have to wear heavy socks or moleskin around my heels till they break in.
Found you through Rose Anvil. Saw his video on the boot and I just bought a pair. Cant wait to get them soon!!!! Always wanted a wide toe box boot. Cheers!
I will be buying a pair as soon as they are available in black in EU size 8.5. I already registered for an email. One thing can make me these boots truly perfect and that is a steel toe, I wish I could've custom ordered a pair with it. Either way, you look like a great brand with very high value products so I'm looking forward to what you come up with next.
It's subtle but I like the styling of these more than the AR8's. I've been anticipating the 719 but I think I like the styling of these even more than those, I just don't need a boot this tall so I'd really be interested in a 6 inch height version of these. With a toe cap I think these would be a very strong competition to Red Wing Iron Rangers.
I like the look and design, when I saw the barefoot troopers I immediately thought a trooper with a normal sole would be amazing, turns out it is amazing. Only thing I'm not a huge fan of rough out. I checked out the pricing, now I knew it would be on the higher end didn't quite expect the price though. I'm sure they will still fly off the shelves. Waiting for the mocktoe to come on the website as well
I pre ordered a pair IMMEDIATELY. Sadly it won't be coming here until March though, I will be receiving an 8 inch boots with lugs after winter which is disappointing. Excited for this beauty non the less!

Just pre-ordered my pair (brown) but here in Europe delivery will be in March😢 will be my 3rd pair of Jim Green, was actually going to custom order some similarly modifed AR8 but custom builds now suspended until March anyway so easier to preorder these Ciao from Italy
i know it's super early to expect an answer on this, but is this an item that will be available for customization through the jim green custom shop? While it's enticing, there are features lacking that keep me from ordering this boot as it's offered. Cheers as always. love the work you guys do
We appreciate your support and love for our work and understand your enthusiasm for customization, however currently, this boot is still in the pre-order stage, and we haven't made any decisions regarding customization options.
These are looking really nice! My only issue is that they're way too tall for me. If we were to do a custom order when you open them back up in February, can we request they be done with the same kind ol leather insole you used for these boots? Keep up the great work!!
Any plan on adding a similar internal heel counter on the barefoot trooper in the future? Exposed stitching in the most fragile part of the boot is not great
Thank you for your feedback @nicolaschalifour. We appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts. While we value all customer feedback, we don't have any immediate plans to modify the design.
Need a steel toe on these and I will order these in a heartbeat. Can't wear these on job sites in AU and a lot of Euro countries. These would be relegated as fashion boots if I bought them now. My boss never allow it on site. Im sure you would sell quite a bit to the non US market with a steel toe/ comp toe option
