My interview was last week, and I got rejected. Honestly, the consular officer wasn’t interested. I saw the rejection in her face from the very first question she asked me. It felt like she was just asking because I had paid the fee, but the answer was already decided in her mind. I could sense it in the way she asked the questions, and even the whole interview process felt uncomfortable. The consular officer speaks to you through a microphone from behind the glass, like you’re a suspect.

Hey..thanks for sharing your experience with us. I stay in New Delhi and would be applying from the same city preferably. I have two primary concerns: 1. Although my program is a very busy one and there would hardly be time to work while studying. But is it okay to mention that you may take up an on-campus job (if available), to help you pay back the loan interest while you’re in school? Or should you avoid showing interest in work during the school completely? 2. If the appointment wait time in New Delhi is longer than that in Chennai or Kolkata, can I change my appointment consulate after submitting the application? And does it make a difference if you are applying at a different city from what you mentioned before? Thanks!

Jai, I mentioned it in the video but I’ll reiterate I had a 3 year undergrad and to be considered for a phd in the US they generally look at a 16 year education so 12 years in school and 4 years as an undergrad. I wanted to apply for a PhD but fell short by one year hence the 2nd master (which I would fast track into the PhD program) if that makes sense
I got rejected the first as I was very nervous and uncomfortable I was unable to answer the second question that was asked to why I chose the university I was going to amongst the 4 universities I got admitted to it was a very bad experience

Hi, I was rejected twice, and now i have to shift my admission till spring 2024... I was asked about my sponsor (who's my uncle), i was also asked my post graduation plan (which i said it's to take up a lecturing job at my almamata. I was also asked what i was doing at the moment (i replied that i just finished my compulsory one year service to the country, we call it NYSC here and that I've taken up a research assistant job at my almamata... These were the questions that came up in both interviews. In the first interview, i was asked if i had a relative in the US , of which i said NO immediate relative,, prior to that i wrote on my DS-160 that i have other relative not immediate relative in the US... What do you think could be wrong? And In my next interview, what do tou think i should add or remove
Rejection could be from lots of different factors… -sponsor -family in usa -home ties -future plans All depends on how you answered those questions, clear communication is key
It is a scam. This is so sad. The students put so much effort and pay so much to the US for these interviews and are rejected on a whim by consular officers. That some eventually after many more fees, etc. are accepted says it all. The system has to be better.
@@chaiandcoaching Good question. It seems that Consular officers are faced with a tough and impossible job. Giving hundreds of very short interviews per week while under pressure to process as many as possible as fast as possible. How is it possible to properly vet applications this way to ferret out fraud and immigrant intent? As it appears to wind up to be a subjective process in the end for the officer to get the job done, this may mean that legitimate and serious applications are rejected but those well-positioned and with immigrant intent can slip through. Maybe Congress can relieve consular officers (who surely have lots of other duties) this task and budget for visa specialists to conduct this work? Allowing more time, effectiveness and efficiencies? Just a thought from the armchair. :)
Chai, tell me please how do you think the visa officer will think about this answer ( F1 visa, study English) - Why USA ? As I recently obtained my bachelor's degree in automation engineering, i have set a plan of pursuing a double master's degree in Dubai. However, one of the mandatory requirements for admission is a minimium toefl score of 80. To meet this requirement. I have chosen to enroll in a specialized TOEFL program in the USA. The decision allows me to simultaneously study english at connect english while completing my first year of master's studies through distance learning. I talked with my department head, BRAHIMI Nouzha, and she was fully agreed of achieving both Algerian and international diplomas since I'm a serious student with a very good grades. By effectively managing my time, I will return to Algeria after achieving the desired TOEFL score and complete my master's exams and also graduation. And then apply for a master's degree in engineering management in DUBAI. By having a master's degree in automation and industrial informatics, and another master's in engineering management will alow me to become a project manager in an Algerian company to engage with international clients.

I have my interview on 2nd august . I’m pursuing my bachelors in psychology though my undergrad program is nursing n i have gap years like 4 yrs as i was working as a nurse in those time my primary sponsor is going to my be my uncle so this might trigger them as I’m from single parent family soo could u help with this please.
Let the consulate know that your uncle has been of great support because you’re from a single parent family, he helped and sponsored for your undergrad program and he’s willing to help you pursue your dream of becoming a psychologist. Also include that he’s been very successful at (the work he does) and has been of great help to the family financially.

Rejection could be from lots of different factors…
-sponsor
-family in usa
-home ties
-future plans
All depends on how you answered those questions, clear communication is key

Will be having f1 visa interview in Tanzania .. same university. Is this going to be a challenge?
Challenge for what?
I’ve got admission in MBA at Webster. Is it OK to say in interview that my real brother is going to sponsor me who is a senior bank manager ?
Sure
It is a scam. This is so sad. The students put so much effort and pay so much to the US for these interviews and are rejected on a whim by consular officers. That some eventually after many more fees, etc. are accepted says it all. The system has to be better.
What ideas do you have to make improvements?

What happened?
I have been refused once, Does having a b1/b2 visa help in your interview for an f1 visa?
sorry to hear that, sometimes it can help, all depends on how you tell your story
Chai, tell me please how do you think the visa officer will think about this answer ( F1 visa, study English)
- Why USA ?
Sounds good 👍
