I’ve had my 2003 W209 CLK55 coupe for over 10 years, now up to 190k miles - best car I’ve ever owned. Stupid fast, stealth, reliable, and that pillar-less look is just gorgeous. Thanks for a great model overview AMGmeister!
Wow nice good for you. Looks like you got a lot of healthy years out of your CLK. I have a 335is and looking to get another classic coupe in my garage. Just love the timeless look especially the egg shaped head lights.

great video, I am a 05' 55 Coupe owner. '06 55 Coupes are even more rare as they had the revised AMG front bumper similar to the '63's and also the facelifted tailights, but still carried the M113 with 5 speed gearbox.
I have a 2005 CLK500. I’ve loved this car since brand new. I just turned 100,000 miles. Last month I lost a “crank sensor”. This is the first time it’s ever been in a shop for something broken. It’s been a very dependable 🚙 car.
The w209 model is my favorite Mercedes car. I currently own the Clk 500 which is a lot of fun to drive. Unfortunately, buying clk 55 in Poland is a huge challenge. Greetings to clk fans all over the world.
Fully agree - find some nice car in a good shape in Poland is not an "easy ride", however if you go outside to our nearest neighbours it's doable. I've done for now only 2k km, but I know one thing - this beast will stay with me forever. Greetings for all AMG enthusiasts.
The CLK550 is the best amongst the 209s hand down. It's much faster than the CLK55 and almost neck in neck with the CLK63 but with none of the head bolt problems of the 63. Thanks for keeping these classics alive. 🙌
Replaced a C55 with a CLK550 Coupe back in the day. 14 years later, 207k miles and it preforms like it was new. They’re cherries, one of the best Mercs of the time.
The CLK550 is great value for money in todays market because it's still a fast car. Comparing the convertibles, the CLK55 runs about a 13.5 second 1/4 mile, the CLK550 is 13.2 seconds, and the CLK63 is 12.5 seconds.
I’ve had a CLK550 Coupe that replaced my C55. I’m glad I chose the 550 coupe over the 63 or the 55, the 550 is nearly as quick as the 63 but was still the pillar-less coupe I so desired. Great content as always!

I owned two 02 Clk 55 AMG Cabrios. One all black, and one white with a blue top. it was a beautiful car.. Never had any problems with either, but didn’t keep them past 50k miles.
Thanks for the great video, though I now find myself missing my old 209-era CLK55 coupe even more than I already was. Interestingly enough, it was actually more reliable and less costly to maintain than any of the Nissans or Mazda that preceded it. Wish I had it back. Also, I haven't checked the comments to see if someone else already chimed in, but the CLK63 was available in North America as both a cabriolet as well as a Black Series coupe.
This is fantastic! For the value and power I am looking right now at a 2007 clk63 convertible. Here in Canada Ontario. 155,000km for 22k. Already own a w203 C55 2006 model.
Not only some of the most reliable AMGs, but reliable Benzes period around mid-late 2000s. Anyone in the market for a used CLK55 or CLK63, I would also heartily recommend including post facelift CLK500 (CLK550 in US market). Not going to be as razor sharp as a true AMG in steering, handling, or braking but they were more powerful and faster than the CLK55s in a straight line and borrowed a lot of AMG styling ques and hardware. Not to mention cheaper to maintain. Def worth consideration.
Was waiting for W209 content specially your 63 ! Thanks again ! quick question, have you looked underneath your clk63 when you lifted it to see if you have a resonator or not? WIS mentions no resonator on those models, I was thinking of removing it from mine for better sound.
One thing I didn't mention in the video was that the CLK55 does not have a resonator and a CLK63 does have a resonator. I removed the resonator on my 63 and it does improve the sound at startup and lower rpms. However it's not as loud as a E63 or CLS63 with resonators removed because those cars have a dual exhaust system.
@@AMGmeister Oh really? Amazing! Thought i'd be stuck with the one I have. I think a true dual would then be a good option with C55 mufflers or E63 ones. Not easy to find a one side muffler that flows enough for the m156. I think the entering piping should be 2.75" on those 55/63.
