This man is insane. His upload schedule and the length of his videos is wild, and it’s not like the scripts feel rushed or bad either. The grind is real.

Using too much psycher power can call in demons to make the fight harder.
I heard that as "summon more xp bags to hit."
Unless you're playing on unfair or similar, you're very unlikely to trigger that kind of stuff. Especially since there's a bunch of talents that helps mitigate veil degradation.
It's cool that this is included. Playing Dark Heresy, it's an event that can really throw a fight around.
To balance this these summoned units should attack everything but give no XP or loot when killed.
until you have 3 bloodletters rampaging through your party
They do not give XP (the summoned daemons)
I like the fact that the Owlcat graphical style makes it look like a table top game much like Chaos Gate.
When Owlcat releases a new Pathfinder or DLC verison, I will buy it. The more I see of this game the less likely I'll play this game. Just dont like Warhammer. This is just my opinion and I hope some people have fun and Owlcat continues to make games, that I would buy.

Marksman got renamed in the release into Soldier, for those that might get thrown off looking at archetypes in the video.
I just got control of the ship. I'm new to 40K lore and loving what I'm seeing so far. As of now, my goal is to be a primarily Dogmatic loyalist to the emperor with a Ned Stark "man who passes the sentence should swing the sword" mentality. Super enjoying being a Commisar Soldier from a Forge World.

Amazing! The WOTR Guide was awesome, it really helped me understand the game better which I then completed on Core without much difficulties. This guide is going to be equally helpful as well if it gets complicated. Thank you.

Scrap acually does more than just upgrade your hull and ram, if you go into another menu it can upgrade some of your ship abilities as well.
Im watching this after finishing the prologue with my Noble Officer. I saw the extra turns and was like 'yes please'. Loving the breakdown so far, i may restart with this new knowledge, but love the game and love your vid man.

Made me a Crimelord Operative without knowing just how broken it is. I dont think ive ever missed a shot and nearly always crit and penetrate armor WHILE making my whole team way more effective

Started my first character, a Voidborn Naval Officer. Plan to raise INT and use Be Smart talent as the "face" of the team.
I'm doing similar but with forgeborn crimelord

Excited to hear Iconoclast has a decent variation on the story as that's how I intend to do my first playthrough. That being said, certian dogmatic decisions still made more sense as more lives would be lost uprooting chaos than nipping it in the bud...
That's why my focus will be iconoclast followed by dogmatic. Makes most sense to me.

Would have been interesting to see a psychic null origin, but that would have created major problems with psyker companions, so it's definitely a no-go lorewise

Phenomenal guide
Origins was originally Homeworld, so Psyker as an Origin wouldn't work because there thankfully aren't any worlds populated solely by Psykers, unlike Ogryn or Ratlings.
Yeah the wound thing is weird. On tabletop when you attack something you have to hit it, go through the armor, then the toughness which was a representation of the character just toughing it out or having good biology. Wounds was a character taking a significant injury that in most cases would incapacitate a normal unit. So to me wounds are not hp, it's you went down and might want to get that gut wound stiched up. Gonna take some getting use too.
Felt kind of clunky as first (I blame playing so much bg3), but its def growing on me. New to the combat system and I'm enjoying it more and more
If you actually played bg3, hou should feel like this game is smooth like butter. Clearly lying. Someone nv got to act 3.

So if i wanted to make a melee psyker i could start biomancy and later pickup pyromancy to make use of its self-burn mechanics? Or would thay be leaving me too talent starved to be good?
So, very minor spoiler:
Heinrix von Calox, the inquisitorial Interrogator companion, is a Warrior-archetype psyker who starts out with biomancy. Picking up a second discipline, especially if you only dip into it, should be fine.
Im really torn between straight noble officer fellowship build or splitting it with santic psyker officer willpower/fellowship

i started it up yesterday with no pre knowledge, i must say the reading of tutorials on top of the reading that is the rpg element is quite exhausting haha ... BUT it gives you enough tutorials at the right time to get used to everything quite quickly without the element of frustration that is like "god i shouldve known this way earlier now i have to reload!" ahahaha.
i really like the overall system, infact i like it waaay more compared to pathfinder, it is closer to divinity 2 (didnt play the first), it feels a lil more straight forward, more casual in consequence, but who knows how my story will evolve, i would wish there was 1 complete talent reset, just one, so when youre lets say around 30-50% of the game you are allowed to "repair" what you only learnt via experiencing the game aswell as each class, i am one of those winmaxers, not in a way that makes me godmode, but one that makes me so annoyed by 1-2 things i completly fucked up that i get the urge to restart the whole thing...wich in games like this, is a rather no go due to the length, reading, braining, killing 20-30...50h mostly ends up me not getting the motivation back up to overcome the point i restarted leading to a stop playing, i know thats a me problem haha.

I only played the first beta/alpha and I would swear the recoil only applied once, not to every shot cumulatively. Did they change it or am I just not remembering correctly? Also can you see the max number of attacks per turn anywere? Great video as always!
Cant say I ever noticed a problem with recoil, attacks will just stop highlighting attack options when you run out but otherwise not that im aware
Kingdom management combined with time limits of the quests is the single factor that made me quit Kingmaker even though I played it for like 70 hours. And because I haven't finished Kingmaker, I didn't feel like playing WotR because I felt I would be missing the proper order of progression (and the fact that WotR also has its own version of kingdom management was also a big factor).
I'm glad they eased up the system in RT.
A bit late but I can tell you the crusade management isn't nearly as bad as Kingdom management. You don't want to rush it because spreading your crusade too thin can lead to massive and rapid losses but you don't really have a lot in the way of time limits so long as you aren't rushing the story.

Does Voidborne Be Smart talent allows you to use INT instead of FEL in a conversation skill checks same as Forge Worlds Calculated Relations or is it strictly for other nonskill related stuff like officer abilities and passives?
Only abilities and talents, so skills shouldnt be affected
I'm really enjoying it, but I'm hoping for another dnd romp next, or maybe something original all together.
Really dissapointing that some of the 'lore rules' surrounding 40k prevent really interesting things, like a potential 'fallen' Argenta questline, or even just a romance option.
Additionally, maybe it's just the setting, as I have not actually played very many games in the 40k universe, but it feels the evil options are sometimes just comically evil, and the dogmatic is comically dogmatic. Would have been nice to see more nuance.
Maybe I'm imagining it, but specifically when it comes to the story it feels like Games Workshops hand is keeping things from straying too far out of their vision of the characters/setting

I have no idea what this is, but it looks sweet.
Anyone else feeling like cover is bugged or something? It's supposed to be -35% for light cover and -60% for heavy cover, but I swear right now as I'm fighting through an early area (Rykard starport) it feels like enemies are shooting my party as easily in cover as out of it. It's pretty freaking annoying.
Pity that half the homeworlds are just a fellowship penalty, especially given that the Rogue Trader is essentially the face of the party. I’m probably going Commissar in our co-op game, so I’m basically stuck with either Imperial or Hive.

kinda makes sense, considering you're thrust into a leadership role. Yes, it'd be nice to both be an excellent warrior AND excellent leader. It's a bit of a shame they put that choice in where you're born, but in a way that kinda drives home how unfair the empire of man is: Being born in the wrong place will severely limit your options.
@@diazinth its true everywhere, but even more so here where you have literal paradise worlds and... planet-sized factories (overwhelmingly ran solely by the Admech).

Hey, Mortismal. I am largely a PS5 player (all my steam games are Mac). Would you suggest playing this game before the Pathfinder games? The scifi setting and turned based mechanics attract me, but I am not a Warhammer guy.
Its an entirely different system and setting, so its just your own preference really

Willpower, Weapon or Ballistic, rest depends on your archetype, personally I like warrior or soldier for it
