Deathworlds can have plenty of living things. They are not planets that nothing can survive in (or at least not always), they are planets it is hard for humans to survive in. For example, a Deathworld can have plenty of living things that feel human brains taste good and don't to pass up a chance to take a bite of any nearby.
I've been waiting a long time for this. Rogue Trader is one of my favorite RPGs from the Warhammer line. I'm glad to see if coming to the video game sphere.
Its amazing, owlcat gaming really knocked it out of the park with this one. I hope you enjoy it!
Hope this gets a lot more views, you deserve it as clearly this was a massive effort. Bonus kudos for helping me understand leveling, in the last 2 pathfinder games I'd just spam options as I play on easy anyway but now I kinda get it a bit more on this game
How much did Owlcat pay you for this comment?
i was very hesitant to look up a guide for it since i wanted to experience everything firs. but with limited play time and the steep learning curve i felt like i had to lol. loving the game so far!
So good, so helpful. I have been playing 40k for many years, but always get worried starting games like this in case I set things up poorly at the start. This has been hugely helpful
Wow! I've spent 15 hours playing blindly and having a good time. Super happy I came here to beef up the knowlege that I was missing. I was already loving the game but now I'm liking it even more.
Thank you for doing this. I found this game through another content creator. I've never played crpg or rpg but for whatever reason I'm finding this really interesting . Thank you for going over the ground combat with all of the indicators and how they work. You are the only one that I have found who has taken the time to explain that part in any rpg. It takes a lot of the mystery out and makes the game seem playable to a newbie. Subbed btw.
Thanks for making this. I just bought the game and being presented with such a vast number of choices to make and things to pick from, while not yet fully understanding all the underlying mechanics and stuff felt a bit overwhelming, but after watching this guide I feel much better prepared for success. 👍
If you enjoy the video be sure to share with a friend you think might play the game!
Im here after platinum the ps version of bg3. Now its time to learn warhammer 40k rogue trader before i play it
This game looks awesome. It has a lot of what I liked about BG3
Dude that respec tip is gold, as well as adding custom team mates, comes in handy for the heretic run!
I've wanted the game for a bit. I purchased it in the current sale. This video really takes a few watches, because there is SO MUCH INFO.
Good job dude. subscribed
Glad I could help!
Outstanding work. Well worth the time investment. Thank you for your contribution to the community.
Glad to see the respec mentioned. Going to be playing this in co-op, and want my friends to be able to adjust their builds to what they like.
great idea! and thanks for the comment
Thank you for taking the time to make this, I am brand new to 40k and these tips are gonna be invaluable going forward. Well done!
Great video!!! I was trying top figure some things out on my own. This made it clearer!
Stayed through the entire video. This is an excellent guide, and I just picked up the game in the Steam Spring Sale. Looking forward to getting started. Thanks for the great guide!
Glad I could help, It's an awesome game! Have fun!
amazing guide . For begginers in these kinda of games are amazing , keep it up *thumbs up*
Well made guide, clearly a lot of work went into this. Subbed
Thanks a ton for the comment!
What a fantastic video. Clear and concise explanations and well made. Thank you very much!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Excellent guide, love your easy to understand delivery. Straight to the point and super informative. Thanks man.
New subscriber.
thanks so much for the kind words!
Very good guide for starters. Covers pretty much everything to know for a start into the game.
A lot of helpful stuff, thanks! Currently exploring the first system map so quite early on. About to rescue a tech priest! It’s very addictive!
Already want to reroll my character tho!
Fantastic Video!!! Thank you for putting together such an informative guide
Thanks a lot for the tutorial, just got the game yesterday, and I feel more confident starting a playthrough now 🙂 You just gave me even more urge to play it!
Heck ya! I hope you enjoy! It's a great game!
I really appreciate this guide. I've been building my guys based on "best soldier" "best operative" etc guides but I just don't understand how the skills work and how to synergize them
Thank you, this video helps me a lot to get a grip on what's what in the game. Pretty confusing for first timer like me, because I never play a Warhammer 40k game.
Thank you for this video. I have always wanted to try this style of game but find it way too overwhelming to even start. But coz of this video and my love of 40k I just purchased it and going to give it a shot!! 🤠👍
This is a truly fantastic turorial. Thank you!
thanks a ton! glad you enjoyed it!
Game looks RADICAL. Thanks for the video!
Warhammer lore works SO well in a choice-driven CRPG title. amazing amazing world / lore / story
Thanks so much for doing this!! The last CRPG I played was the original Baldurs Gate - things have moved on a bit since then 😂 Will defo be revisiting this video frequently, incredibly useful.
Hands down the best guide so far. A lot of info crammed into one video. Good job kiddo
Glad it helped!
best beginner guide right now. great!
Great video and thank you for explaining the skill check system. Keep up the great work.
thanks so much!
Excellent, just what I needed as a newbie to this universe. I've bought various WH40k games before but did not get into them, partly because this stuff was not readily available as you've made it. Thanks!
so glad I was able to help! hope you have fun, its a great game!
Amazing guide! just what i needed as a complete warhammer newbie
Tx for the guide. Just starting in the Warhammer series. Great game.
I know I'll grow to love Rogue Trader because of it's depth and complexity, but that very same depth and complexity is quite overwhelming (even with your great video) and making this a slog to play through the first time. I wish developers of CRPGs like Rogue Trader would put additional thought into the on-ramp for new players/smoothbrains like me. Maybe a "beginner" preset that simplifies or outright removes certain game mechanics such as trauma. This sort of mode would be great for a first playthrough such that by the time you've finished and ready to start a second or third playthrough, a whole host of the other mechanics have become second nature thus making it more manageable to learn "extra" mechanics like trauma.
As of now though, if I'm being honest, I'm forcing myself to play Rogue Trader (and even then only in short spurts) because it is so mentally taxing trying to understand all of the various systems. And I've already scrapped a few runs during the prologue because I learned new things. Now that I've learned from your video that willpower is mostly useful for psykers, I kind of want to scrap my run (only into Chapter 1 a bit) so I don't waste points on willpower (I'm going for a leader/officer support-type role)
Anyways, this was incredibly helpful as a video albeit still digesting a lot of it.
Watched the whole thing brilliant guide thanks!
Nice informative video man. I downloaded the game and realized warhammer has very different lingo than typical crpgs. Watched this video while cooking dinner and I feel like I’m ready to play for sure.
Heck ya, love to hear it!
Thank you very much, the much needed guide.
Glad it helped
excellent. very useful indeed.
Incredibly helpful guide for all us WH40K newbies. Thank you :-)
Glad it was helpful!
I used all my Medicae packs super early. Yes, it was dumb, I kow that now, lol. Where do I find or buy more? Can I craft any from the stuff I collect in the game? Also, tip for new players, DON'T USE UP YOUR MEDICAE EARLY. Most of the enemies are going to be easy. Save them for bosses or fights later on in the game.
@@fenrir7878 you can buy tons from merchants on various planets or trading ships in space. You just need the profit factor and reputation required to purchase them, but they are usually the most accessible items in their shop
This video convinced me to buy the game. Cheers!
Well, this video is a near must see if you are going to play the game for the first time unless you want to go in near completely blind which is fun too.
8:45 I was half paying attention and heard something along the line of *War Hams* helping you to get ultimates faster.
Great guide, thanks
my pleasure! thanks for the comment!
Great guide. Very well explained.
Glad it was helpful!
I'm watching this before I even start the game. I haven't looked at it all and I'm not familiar with your channel. Thanks a lot.
great video
yeah this game has been awesome so far!
Wish I had seen this before I started the game. Would've saved me a whole lot of trouble
Fantastic guide! Great to see all the ways Ive messed up creating/leveling my Trader Lmao
1:21:31 this is crazy. I never thought it would be this way
26:30 for us dnd nerds we can call that an action surge
Good guide :)
Awesome work
thanks so much for taking the time to comment!
Hi there, thoroughly enjoyed your video, and am loving the game so far, (Just started) but have no idea what the "Stacks" are, and how they work, you did not seem to cover them.
good video, just subscribed
Thanks for the sub!
I cant land shit im on the first mission THE FIRST after the prologue and in getting one shot with power swings
Great video. Thanks. Can I practically become a “grey knight” - Meele tank with psychic abilities? 🔥
Thanks lucky ghost
I will check this out but having tried to play it I find it hard to get into.
This tutorial is a work of art!
It's very useful and I thank you very much for doing it!
Compliments!
Thank you! Cheers!
Thank you!
i'm considering buying it, but how is it compared to Mechanicus? i played Mechanicus just for some moments and found it's too difficult (our techpriest neophytes too weak while necrons too strong and too many)
Is there a campaign timer like Owlcat's other games?
Is there a way to buy med kits
in chapter one
If i am Votary on dogmatic does this mean i can no longer choose any iconoclast choices?
you picked literally my character lmao. this video deserves more views for sure (the tutorial is good but doesnt explain everything), I really want to understand what Im doing and not pick random shit that may hurt me in the process, I really like the game so this comes truly handy
How long have you worked for Owlcat games and can I join you?
Wtf, when did 1 and a half hour pass? Rly enjoyed it as I'm getting ready to start Rogue Trader as a begineer .
Excellent video, one thing I missed is how exploits work in combat.
i love rug trader :D
I despise guides for games and what the internet in general has done to gaming (primarily pvp-games) but Jesus Christ, I truly need to atleast skim through this.
I'm playing on playstation 5 and the UI is confusing and there is A LOT of stuff.
I will keep comin' back to this video a few times when I'm stuck droolin with crossed eyes.
I may have missed it but is there a way to increase AP? I get one shot on a long las and that’s it unless I use abilities
Run and gun. Charge. Your ultimate are all a few ways to get multiple attacks in a single turn
Appreciated.
Legend
i appreciate the effort :)
can you create / recruit full custom party ? or only the one char custom ?
You can make multiple custom characters!
I legitimately couldn't figure out how to level my character. That's why I am here.
in the coop for the game are you allowed to play with multiple custom characters or are the people you play with forced to play the existing characters?
You can create a custom char for them to play
Using abelards ulti after using all his skills and then using the officer ulti to give abelard another turn he can kill about 10-20 enemies. Very busted mechanic imo, but the amount of chaff units that are thrown at you is very high aswell.
how do you switch weapons with controller please?
Just finished the prologue, but where can i find a shopkeeper that sells more medicae?
when you're in various towns on any planet, or when you run into ships that you can trade with in space
Ship to ship combat? ok I am buying.
I'm still sad Telekinetic is not part of this, but i can imagine it'd be very hard to code into a game mechanic haha.
The game is excellent. I just wish Owlcat devs weren't contractually obligated to include some obnoxious secondary combat system.
I hate the space battles in RT almost as much as I despised Crusade management in WoTR.
Still, it's a small complaint next to the hours of excellent story, memorable comrades, and deep combat system.
How to revive a downed character in combat??
Has anyone ever hear of the French game wakfu/ dofus? I loved those games tactical combat despite the graphics. This game reminds me of that but with A MUCH BETTER universe
Love how most times i see vids, people say this is hard. Im playing on hard mode and sure most fights i see one party memeber drop but im wiping 20 people in a couple turns. And i havnt struggled once so far. My group is only level 10 so im not too far in but i still cant see why everyones having a hard time in this game
How’s the graphics?
Woah woah woah... Haven't finished the video but how tf is damage sooooo high for Pasqual but ur wounds are so low ? Or atleast that other characters was. Usually they're all within the same ballpark. Atleast for mine, give or take 10.
Im asking because im lv 29 around the end of act 2 i think. Most characters are in the 70s or 80s for wounds. But everyone dmg is still in 20s. Which is probably why all my battles are marathons.
Oh I just bought this. Father/Son night, Lucky?
chooookyy!!! its a fantastic game, let me know how you like it!
Wow this game is really complex. I played both pathfinder games and those were pretty easy to understand cause I play dnd but this is different.
What genius came up with the idea that hitpoints should be named wounds? This is so backward.
They tried to fit the name of HP into the warhammer-genre ...but I guess this is just confusing
It was originally meant to be the amount of wounds a character could take
Not very different from the concept of hit points. Think of it as how many wounds or points of damage that you can take. Like how hit points are how many "hits" you can take.
Hi, I don't wanna be annoying and compare the 2 games, but I really enjoyed bg3 and want to start another dnd style game. Would this fit roughly in the same genre?
Same genre. No d20s though.
Works on a d100 system and this video would help you get into it.
Lot less voice acting for 1 and more reading. Lot more choices in narrative as well.
Ya absolutely!
Ok so can someone help me so I do not just lose the mood to play this game completely? I play on PS5. I play on the first main planet, with the rebels. I am through battles with rebels, there is a section with a lot of ladders to lower sections. My characters are CONSTANTLY running into traps and getting injuries, no matter wether I try to unlink the one that can disarm traps or move together. They run all over the place, they run forward after I get down on a ladder... Is there a way to stop them???? Is there a way to navigate through traps???
Make sure someone in group has high perception and they will detect and disarm traps before you step on them
@@LuckyGhost Im right after the prologue, first planet, all I have in my party is who I had on the ship with me, plus the Mechanicus guy from this planet who joins our party. The traps are already revealed, with red lines on the floor and stuff...they run right in the line and get pelleted... or they also run through a place where steam comes out. It is not a trap they percieve , it just can be turned off by a valve. But as i go down the ladder, they run through it, before I could go to the valve and turn it off with someone.
game still in alpha and you got guide ready.. liked and subbed
bro its released officially tmrw, what are you talking about?
@@globaladdict when ?
wounds champion
I can't get past the Aurora battle, driving me nuts.
