I was in the army back during the Trojan War. On the ride home we sailed past this island and heard two women singing so magically that the captain tied me to the mast to keep me from swimming ashore. Pretty sure they were Nadine and Reeb.
Hooked me with the first "didn't have to go". Man oh man, that is some sweet music.
Fiddle has a distinct Cajun sound, love it.

Who says country music is pop-crap now? This band would have been tops on Grand Ole Opry’s Ryman stage 50 years ago.
I know there is all kinds of Bluegrass lovers here in the east cost...Yeah these guys are from the west but they are great, Share the hell out of this ,let them come east ...love them. Been listening to there videos for quite some years now, love it , can get enough of them......COME TO OHIO.

Just luv' bluegrass music! Grew up listening to the likes of Bill Monroe, Earl Scruggs, Osborne Brothers, John Hartman, and Alison Krauss & the Union Station and many other bluegrass musicians. Foghorn Stringband luv' their music too! Reminds me of allot like Hawaiian slack-key music!

Like many bands, they are aware there in a recording studio so they are mostly sober. I bet they really Jam when they are live at a party concert situation

What sets them apart is the mandolin driven sound, unusual for a string band, Caleb is a superb mandolinist and could sit in with any bluegrass outfit. Sammy does play banjo but usually they feature fiddle/mandolin lead. More modern than old time, not as intense as bluegrass, the music is more like 50s country with better arrangements and picking. Foghorn defies any labeling, as Caleb say on his site "It’s all country music as far as I’m concerned!" Absolutely.
I've known Caleb for years, but a couple of years I had the opportunity to play with him at a mandolin workshop at the Chicago School of Old Time Music! Excellent!
