It's a part of their long-term runup plan for next years 20th anniversary and SS10. They dropped this ahead of a concert tour that starts later this month called "Halftime: Spin Off," where they're going to play with the sub-unit concept (mix and match) and do some less performed songs. We're also getting a new season of SJ Returns, an album next year, all culminating in a global Super Show 10 tour that Heechul is planning on participating. He is not participating in the Halftime tour, which is why he doesn't show up in this single. As for the future of Suju, Donghae and Eunhyuk run their own company named ODE so they have full control to schedule around group things accordingly and Kyuhyun is currently under Antenna for personal schedules, but has been very vocal about his intentions to continue with the team. They're all still under SM for Suju activities, but the lost label SJ with the restructure (although the restructure basically extended the semi independent label concept to all SM artists) and now share a "center" with Riize and a few other artists. I think we are going to continue to see more solo and sub-unit content than full group, but thats been the case since they first started military service.😂 I anticipate that we're going to continue to get new Suju group music about every 2 years (maybe stretched to 5 down the road), but whether that's anything from a single to a full album is going to be anyones guess.
yeah they've been having more unit and solo content but i think we did get group comebacks every year except for 2016 and i guess 2013 (although they released japanese songs). and from 2017 to 2022 we had group comebacks every year. what you said kinda makes sense but i still hope we get group content more regularly 🥲💙
The member reveal reminds me so much of their concert intro vcr's. Maybe it's on purpose since it's kind of a concert song. And I agree it also shows how the members assemble for group content since they all have crazy schedules outside of it. They said something like they always have to use "funk" to describe their songs. Siwon could not be there to film all the time because he has a new drama coming out, that's why LSS are not all together. Label SJ was reabsorbed by SM last year, so they don't have their own label any longer. All the members are so busy now that maybe we get less of all of them together, but the solos and the subunits will still go strong, and from time to time they will get together again, SJ has to get to the 60th anniversary!! 😂😊
