@@robertoday7526 Because God has showed His love for us, because while we were yet sinners He sent His ONLY begotten son to die for us. People choose their selfishness and feelings above trust God almighty and what He states in His word is our decision. Dating, fornicating and all of the stuff the world participates in keeps us heart-broken, laden with children outside of marriages and hopping from bed to bed -- all of the things God never told any of us to do. Phyllis was beautiful and talented and extremely intelligent, but even depression are signs of self-love perverted - eyes still on US and not on others who love us and how our death would affect those who love us. Depression is hard, but there is TRUE help with God, not with drugs and these evil psychiatrist and psychologist who in many cases make things worse.

Such a beautiful, talented and sophisticated woman who wanted to be understood and loved. But Phyllis was what people would consider intimidating (she was tall, gorgeous, had her own money and success). She also possessed a strong personality, presence and didn't take any crap. So that unfortunately scared men away. Her mood swings caused by her mental illness made her sabotage relationships. She wanted to be loved and didn't want to settle.
I do not think anyone could have said or done anything to prevent her passing as it was ultimately her own decision to leave at her own time. Many of us want to go but lack the strength due to many reasons to do it ourselves so we sit and suffer here on earth waiting, hoping and praying that things get better. I was only 4 years old when she passed but her music stayed on repeat in my household. I also didn't understand why many were so shocked at her cause of death at that time. And with that said, I truly hope her soul has found peace.

So important to 💕 people through your actions with how you treat them. It was so obvious the woman was very depressed. Folks, so caught up into she had all this $ the woman died alone, sad, and dealing other things no one could even imagine. Sooo 😭 sad.

Men couldnt see her value past her looks. fools.
This is why i like cancers. I am virgo..
Shes telling you what she wants. She wanted out , she wanted a man, and a family. Shes a cancer, she wants love and family. She was depressed because of what she just said her “mother”. Cancers are close to their moms, and however the mom raised them thats how she will be.. the trama and depression she has come from the root of her mom. Rip

I want to take my time and answer the question without being offensive, I loved Phyllis Hyman since I was a kid before she popular in the 80's
A man could not have loved Phyllis more than she loved herself...the industry treated her poorly because of her height and build, which had nothing to do with her talent...she was with Arista just as Whitney was coming aboard and I am sure Clive put all his energy into Whitney and neglected Phyllis and even Aretha...but Phyllis had issues with depression

I love you ❤️ Phyllis The queen when I tell you the first time I seen her was in School Daze ,and I fell in love with her , ever since. I’m not going to go into why she doesn’t have movies or documentaries or Why she receives no homage. so I will do it Clyve Davis you have so much karma coming any way. her voice was a silk musk on a summer day smooth as cream. her beauty was sublime before Whitney there was Phyllis Hyman. listen to somewhere in my lifetime , living all alone , be one , old friends her delivery and pain in her songs is tangible. this woman is the vocal bible she was touched by god. I do not get chills from the new R&b girls. Phyllis have me chills and still somewhere in my lifetime that long run at the end 😪.I have no words I wish she could have received her flowers so here Phyllis we love you rest up queen. 👑 🌹🌸💐🌺🌷🥀 those who truly know good music will never and will not forget you with that voice how could we she was the voice. Her Florence Ballard snd Angela bofill will always live thru me this industry depleted so many of are artist it’s sad.

@mazaratialbum Music is first, but there is something to be learned from her depression -- and how she let it get to her. She WAS such a great musical talent, and it's a shame that we lost her at such a young age because of something that can be treated. Therefore, I won't disable the comments when it's a worthwhile dialogue.
