Yes, I got my volume levels wrong in this video, the music is too loud, sorry in advance about that. I always make sure the captions are correct if you need them.
Funny thing is I could see similarities in Xbox and Dreamcast when I first played Xbox. Beyond just the controller letters being the same. One of my buddies who worked in Silicon valley said that's because many who worked on Dreamcast worked on Xbox lol.
@@WhitePointerGaming It's not the music. You need to invest in better microphone and learn how to mix voice (EQ and compression). Also I hear a lot of room reverb in the recording. Sound-proof your room or put a blanket over yourself and the mic while recording for better audio, I'm not kidding :) Interesting content, but I stopped after 1:15 because I cannot hear what you are saying.
Thanks for the tips @Sempersky. I do edit the dialogue separately before adding it to the video but I just got it a bit wrong in this case. However, I've been making the effort of properly adding closed captions to my videos lately (instead of relying on the automatic ones as they have issues with my Australian accent) so if for some reason you can't hear me or understand me properly, the option of the closed captions is there.
@@sempersky8723 it's the music, while his mic quality isn't the best also the music is way too high, I would recommend fading it out before speaking occurs or perhaps fading it and overlapping it while fading with it much lower (almost unheard) while speaking. Of course I think while awesome this song may not be the best for that at all. The riffs are kinda aggressive. I would have went for Jun's "after the adventure" or afternoon tea for this type of thing but you can make just about anything work
Odd how the Dreamcast is made compatible with Atomiswave, NAOMI, and PC games yet don't have all the games that those three platforms offered ported to the system. It should be very easy to port those to Dreamcast without hiccups but then Sega killed off the platform way too soon.
Well at the time I worked in the games industry as and artist, we we're doing a game on the DC called " Worlds Scariest Police Chases" never released. Anyways i remember at the time the main Programmer said using CE hit the CPU for about 8%, they just preferred to use their own code to get that last bit of speed.
I always wanted to know what happened to that game! I wanted it when I first read about using the microphone to call in for backup from other squad cars. Can you please share any info you can about this game? The community has been wanting to know what happened for years and we always hoped a build of the game would surface but it never did.
@@BFKAnthony817 Well that was a shit show and there's probably a lot I could say that'd get me into court for defamation. The short story is there was no management and halfway through production the company went under. Some of the team negotiated with the publisher to continue the game and thats when things got worse. There was a massive city built, you could drive cars around but there were no people, no missions, no microphone. It was essentially a graphics demo. All a bit sad, one of the artists making the city went a bit demented and started adding strange retro SCi FI elements, which was quite fun :), all very sad and I can't say more publicly.
If I recall correctly SEGA Dreamcast compatibility for the XBOX was dropped due to them not being able to get online working (Or at least, not very well) with the games that used it.
Isoa okawa died before the request being declined, Okawa even sent over more information more data, more assets for console development to Microsoft to include it into the xbox. Microsoft was leading him on to get more out of him. Also what killed the dreamcast was Peter Moore in january. Isoa died in march. Peter Moore's betrayal allowed the xbox to come into the market unhithered, and he was a microsoft tool, and lead many of the Sega of America staff over to microsoft, and even a chunk of sega of japans staff too. His hot head temper is what caused most of the internal conflict with sega of japan and sega of america. Isoa okawa also forgave sega for all the loans he gave them, this was likely either in his will or decisions made while he knew he going to pass very soon, along with trying to get Microsoft to add dreamcast compatibility, as these talks between the two were spread out about it and depended on Isoa okawa's health.

Nice work Pointer. The only issue I had is that the background music was a bit too loud.
Ah yes I wasn't sure if I had the mix right...I'll make sure it's a bit quieter in the future. Thanks for the comment.

A very appropriate detail in a video about the debut console for Sonic Adventure 2
always wondered about that Windows Ce logo on the console... thanks for the video.
Glad you found it informative!

There are unofficial conversions of Atomiswave games to Dreamcast.

@@manmonkee Wow that is really unfortunate. I have to ask though, do you happen to have any builds of the game perchance?
@@BFKAnthony817 Nope, if anybody does it'll either be Jon Forshaw or John Southgate but most likely it's lost to time.

Thanks.

Sega had disagreements, but they should've had allowed backwards compatibility
Thanks for this.
when i had a SEGA Dreamcastᵗᵐ ialways wondered why windows would be on a Console, now i actually get why by watching this video, 𝓽𝓱𝓪𝓷𝓴 𝔂𝓸𝓾!
🤔Now all we need is an official list of Microsoft ce games. Cuz they can’t be trimmed down. And having to test everything is a pain.

Okawa KILLED Dreamcast and wanted to kill the Entire Company as well.
