Maybe we would get a super local channel you get for Pierre and Fort Pierre (both pronounced Pier) but even then that signal is so weak you would barely get it at all using even an outdoor antenna as was the case back in the 2000's.

I used an antenna like WaveMax. It works by the cable and not by the box at the end of the cable. You move the cable around the room to get best reception. The cable is the antenna.

I don't want to go to the expense of install an outdoor directional antenna so I've been on the search for a decent indoor antenna. I recently bought a General Electric UltraPro HD indoor amplified antenna. I'm quite impressed with its performance and I'd like you to do a review on it if possible.

I got a clear tv antenna for free with a little portable TV. It sucked. I took the antenna wire off, used it for something else. But that itself worked fine for VHF, Channel 10.
I love the fact that you followed up on the POS antenna 'rebranding'. A piece of copper wire might actually provide a better antenna(paperclip , anyone?). You save the consumer from wasted money and aggravation with your reviews.
What they did is actually common among companies that run scams. I just saw a video about it on TH-cam. Whenever word spreads about a product being a scam, the company simply changes the brand name so the criticism isn't searchable.

I have a simple rule on devices. If it's advertised on a TH-cam ad, its most likely a scam. I've seen ads that they claimed you could get satellite channels for free. You can get them if a local tv station is running them. I believe some markets have HSN over the air. It's still on a local TV station. You aren't getting the signal froma satellite
This reminds me of a commercial back many years when tvs went Digital claiming same stuff, but all it did was pick up local channels, so basically a TV antenna.

Many of the converter boxes like the Homeworx one have those features. You need to supply a USB drive for them to use. I have a $40 converter box connected to a $60 USB hard drive and the combination works great.
👍Hi Tyler, I built my OTA system from watching your videos and it has been working fine for years. I am about 45 miles NW of Chicago and pickup around 60 channels but recently starting about a month ago my ABC7 just loses signal and sometimes FOX32 does the same at the same time. I turn my rotor in a 180 sweep and the channel is just gone. But will magically appear at a later time. I still receive other channels when that happens, so I don't think it is my equipment. My question is, is there a website to check on transmission strength or maintenance outages or any problems they are having. I have searched but haven't found anything useful. To me when it says no signal with no pixelation the signal is not being transmitted. Thank you if you can help. If you need more info on my equipment, just ask.
1. turning your rotor 180 degrees I assume points your antenna in the opposite direction. 2. Stations can come and go depending on interference and other factors. Find out what the actual RF frequency of the channels you lose are. 3. Research online to see if the statoins in question are on the same tower. Also research online for staton contact info and try to get a number or email address of the broadcast engineer. Sometimes they are super helpful with signal issues. Sometimes they are happy to hear from somebody as they spend a lot of effort on an OTA signal nobody seems to pay attention to.

I know the degrees where the channels are transmitting from, I would sweep 90 degrees north then 90 degrees south not point the antenna in the opposite direction 180. My problem was my clearstream antenna was just not cutting it anymore. Since my post I replaced it with a Televes Datboss mix LR. Problem solved.

This is why I happen to have vintage VHF bunny ear and UHF bowtie antenna with 300 ohm to 75 ohm adapter to hook up the converter box and watch TV, and it works. My vintage antenna is made in Japan, and it works like it is supposed to.
I purchased the rewave and as you stated didn't work. Picked up no channels at all. Sent a request for a full refund and a case number to return the product. They told me no need to return the antennas and to keep them. They refunded me in full and now I have these useless antennas to dispose of. Thank you for looking out.

About one month ago I was looking for an indoor antenna and I researched online. Consumer Reports gave the Remax the highest rating. I purchased it and I get 103 channels and no issues with reception. I live in a rural area between Madison, WI and Dubuque, IA.
Do you live on some mountain? I mean, the area sounds like a fringe area split between 2 markets. How are you getting more channels than I do in a large urban market? (99 was the highest i got)

I don't subscribe to the online part of Consumer Reports so don't have access to their report on indoor TV antennas. Consumer Reports is a highly regarded company, so I would have to see their ratings to believe it. Anyway, my cheap $12 rabbit ears only gets me 38 channels from OKC 46 miles away, so I use an RCA 65+ flat antenna to get 55 channels from OKC. For an idea, maybe Tyler ought to review that antenna.

I was staying in a hotel in the middle of Los Angeles in 2017 and the rooms only had APPLE TV. I needed to see a local broadcast and found a cheap indoor antenna like this one and it pulled in 77 channels. I had a similar experience in New York. When you live in a major metro area these things seem to work but outside that cheap antennas are useless.
Same situation when I stayed in a cheap NYC hotel one time. The TV had no cable, so I plugged in an extra coax cable from my bag and it picked up about 40 channels.

It is incredible the scam antennas that show up on Amazon. Even ones that image is clearly not an antenna, like one that shows a generic image of a Microphone that gets 8K Tv up to 100 miles away!! The Rewave is also listed on Amazon.
Channel Master flatenna bought direct from Channel Master (not Amazon). Cheaper. Check both. CHeck Tyler review of this one. I bought two for family. Personally I use a small RCA and mid-size Winegard on a mast on the roof.

Have you considered putting together some kind of presentation framework that can be customized and used at places like community centers? Something that can be customized by the presenter to include tower locations and the like for a specific market? I think that’s a demographic that would really benefit from that kind of presentation.

Some are decent but others aren't. RCA is no longer a company - it's just a brand licensed to various companies. I suspect you mean a digital antenna for picking up digital signals. Or HD signals for that matter. However, as both a ham radio operator and a Navy veteran I can tell you there certainly are digital antennas. Those big flat panels on ships are phased array antennas. I'd call them digital as a computer steers the beam.

Unless you're talking morse code. Which may be the only truly digital signal. Well, NRZ modulation could be too, I guess.
Yeah, at first I thought they didn’t but I just put it in the wrong place, I first put it on my window but it didn’t work probably cause of a lot of trees as I live in Minnesota but I placed it in my attic and it worked better
I bought one and its amazing. Not only do I pick up every TV station in a tri- state area I also pick up AM FM, single side band, shortwave, my neighbor's cordless phone and some other shit I can't talk about.
It may be too much, too little, too late for me. I ordered one antennae from Rewave and they charged me for 3, plus a warranty and other items that I did not order. I've been writing to them to insist on a return, refund, and correction. The hoops that I've already jumped through... Hopefully, it will be enough. The jury is still out.
The marketing on this thing is wild. In the video ad I saw it said "there was a British satellite engineer who thought cable companies were unfair so he reverse engineered their coding and invented this device to bypass EU legislation to give you every channel ever in HD!" Then you go to the website and it says "a NASA engineer decided to reverse engineer over the air transmissions with the help of AI to give you every channel ever" I'm looking at this thing like "this is just a tiny indoor aerial" You could probably tune in to the channels better by just touching your finger to your tvs RF connector. 😂😂😂 And they want £120 for one!!! You can get a real outdoor aerial for £25 😂😂
I think this also qualifies as a scam: I saw an antenna on Amazon today that claimed a range of, no joke, 980+ miles and, of course, used "HD" and "digital" in the listing. I've watched enough of your videos already that I actually laughed at that range claim.
Yes, any range number over about 80 miles is a lie past about 200 miles it is getting funny to those in the know. Sadly enough people aren't in the know to keep those folks in business.

@@kensmith5694 yeah I got started on TV with a black and white zenith. Got one channel pretty good. Had to go outside and turn the antenna with a pipe wrench. While someone yelled stop you went to far turn it back some.
I had the Radio Shack Archer Color Supreme V back in 1988. It had fake plastic load coils and a fake plastic UHF reflector. I was so sure they were fake I smashed the "coil" open with a hammer. No metal or copper coil, just plastic. It had a noisy pre amp and a tuning dial that "kinda" helped. It worked no better then the cheap rabbit ears.

I live 60 miles from the transmitter. Big 6 foot metal antenna in the attic is the only thing that works.

I saw on opened up. All that was inside was a strip of thin PCB material with a copper pattern on it.

Wished I'd seen these comments before buying rewave. Bought one for my bedroom TV and whilst it works well it doesn't pick up any extra channels than a conventional outdoor aerial

Sadly, a plain RCA (name only) that I bought at a thrift store performs better than this "thing" for what I need.

The popular small RCA yagi is a decent shorter range antenna. Sold by a few places under different brands but actually made by Winegard.

I was staying in a hotel in the middle of Los Angeles in 2017 and the rooms only had APPLE TV. I needed to see a local broadcast and found a cheap indoor antenna like this one and it pulled in 77 channels. I had a similar experience in New York. When you live in a major metro area these things seem to work but outside that cheap antennas are useless.

Same situation when I stayed in a cheap NYC hotel one time. The TV had no cable, so I plugged in an extra coax cable from my bag and it picked up about 40 channels.

Ok, I guess I got scammed. I only wanted the antenna for $25.00. I kept saying no to all the add ons, but when my summary came up they had added everything to my order. Am I just out the money or can I return and get money back? Thanks
It is incredible the scam antennas that show up on Amazon. Even ones that image is clearly not an antenna, like one that shows a generic image of a Microphone that gets 8K Tv up to 100 miles away!! The Rewave is also listed on Amazon.
For budget indoor antennas the Philips Classic HD and 1 byone flat antenna are probably your best bets.
Channel Master flatenna bought direct from Channel Master (not Amazon). Cheaper. Check both. CHeck Tyler review of this one. I bought two for family. Personally I use a small RCA and mid-size Winegard on a mast on the roof.

What is the best coax cable for antenna to tv in a 40 ft range
RG11 if you don't mind it's bigger in diameter, not as easy to handle as RG6 and is more expensive. Otherwise use RG6.
An alternative is to put an amplifier at the antenna end of the coax.
Try good quality coax first.

Have you considered putting together some kind of presentation framework that can be customized and used at places like community centers? Something that can be customized by the presenter to include tower locations and the like for a specific market? I think that’s a demographic that would really benefit from that kind of presentation.

Some are decent but others aren't. RCA is no longer a company - it's just a brand licensed to various companies. For example, Winegard makes the RCA compact yagi but different companies make their indoor antennas. I suspect you mean a digital antenna for picking up digital signals. Or HD signals for that matter. However, as both a ham radio operator and a Navy veteran I can tell you there certainly are digital antennas. Those big flat panels on ships are phased array antennas. I'd call them digital as a computer steers the beam.

Unless you're talking morse code. Which may be the only truly digital signal. Well, NRZ modulation could be too, I guess.

Yeah, at first I thought they didn’t but I just put it in the wrong place, I first put it on my window but it didn’t work probably cause of a lot of trees as I live in Minnesota but I placed it in my attic and it worked better
I bought one and its amazing. Not only do I pick up every TV station in a tri- state area I also pick up AM FM, single side band, shortwave, my neighbor's cordless phone and some other shit I can't talk about.

It may be too much, too little, too late for me. I ordered one antennae from Rewave and they charged me for 3, plus a warranty and other items that I did not order. I've been writing to them to insist on a return, refund, and correction. The hoops that I've already jumped through... Hopefully, it will be enough. The jury is still out.

The marketing on this thing is wild. In the video ad I saw it said "there was a British satellite engineer who thought cable companies were unfair so he reverse engineered their coding and invented this device to bypass EU legislation to give you every channel ever in HD!"
Then you go to the website and it says "a NASA engineer decided to reverse engineer over the air transmissions with the help of AI to give you every channel ever"

I think this also qualifies as a scam: I saw an antenna on Amazon today that claimed a range of, no joke, 980+ miles and, of course, used "HD" and "digital" in the listing.
I've watched enough of your videos already that I actually laughed at that range claim.
Yes, any range number over about 80 miles is a lie past about 200 miles it is getting funny to those in the know.

Got one channel pretty good. Had to go outside and turn the antenna with a pipe wrench. While someone yelled stop you went to far turn it back some.

I had the Radio Shack Archer Color Supreme V back in 1988. It had fake plastic load coils and a fake plastic UHF reflector. I was so sure they were fake I smashed the "coil" open with a hammer. No metal or copper coil, just plastic. It had a noisy pre amp and a tuning dial that "kinda" helped. It worked no better then the cheap rabbit ears.
