So update we bought both the S1 and S1 pro to compare, the s1 got stuck on curved edges and corners and would over clean areas out of confusion and waste battery. The S1 Pro had none of these issues. Go with the Pro the lasers on the corners make all the difference. Features we would like to see is return to ledge and a charging stand.
Solid review thanks. For anyone else out there wondering, I have a large (10ft deep) lima bean shaped pool and the S1 pro does seem to do a very good job on it. I also have gigantic drains and it handles those with no problem. Only issue I have seen is that I also have 2 large "drains" on the side wall of my pool which feeds some laminer jets and it cannot get over those
Is your pool plaster or liner? I have a freeform curved plaster pool with a shallow side that gradually slopes to a 9ft deep bowl. I have the Scuba S1 and it seems to get stuck in the deep end when it starts doing its patterns. I used to have an old corded tiger shark that never had an issue with it, but love not having the cord. Is the scuba s1 pro any better pattern wise? Or should I go a different route I’m wondering. I definitely like the ultra fine filters on it.
Well both the Scuba S1 and Pro versions are rated for pool depths of 10 feet so strange it should do okay in 9 feet. However, the Pro is bigger and more powerful so I'd assume it'll do better in the same spot. And yes, the two part filter system with the ultra-fine filter is 👍 Forgot to mention the pool is Pebble tec
@lucaskienitz5075 quartz. My pool also slopes down to a bowl. S1 pro does not stay in the deep end for me. I previously had a seauto seal which would get stuck in the deep end. Good luck!
@@adlerhut4397 Hmm could just my unit maybe, it just doesn’t seem to agree with my pool shape. I’ve just been pulling it out about halfway through its cycle, cleaning it, then putting it back in the shallow end and it does an okay job, it still seems to miss a few spots though, and loses a bit of power after pulling through some sand or dead algae. I think in a perfect world, I’d love to have a corded unit for deep cleans, and something cordless like this for light stuff.
This is my third robotic pool cleaner, my Seagull Pro the know stopped working, and I just returned the Beat Aqua Sense Pro, and bought this one after this review. So far I am super happy! It does a great job of cleaning my pool with out getting tangled in my Betta skimmer, that I need to have going all the time due to pollen. Great combination I hope it lasts.
The wifi floaty thing and the solar changing should be inside their skimmer so you dont have to have a 3rd or4th device in the pool. Another great videos as usual!
Thank you! There's actually going to be a new cleaner coming soon that works in a similar way, called the Aquamarvin AM6. It's a cordless robotic cleaner that's tethered to a cord in the pool with a separate floating skimmer attached to the other end. It also has the option to be converted from a cordless cleaner to a corded cleaner... all for about the 1100 dollar range.
Great review David! I was impatiently waiting for this one and you delivered. I will say that I initially put in a pre-order for the S1 Pro but then 3 customer service reps (through chat) told me the hydrocomm was completely cancelled for now with no ETA in sight. Reason = Did not pass quality control. And by the way they gave me the same resonsing for the solar charger. Both hydrocomm and solar charger are a no-go according to 3 customer service reps. The main selling point for me with the hydrocomm was by far the water monitoring function and I am very disappointed about the fact that they cancelled it if indeed the case. One thing I do want to ask you David. I did end up cancelling my S1 Pro to then simply order the S1 and so far I love it. I did notice that it has a WIFI ship in it although the Aiper App does not detect it. In other words as soon as the clearner is ON, I detect a Aiper SSID. Did you notice that as wel when using the S1? And is this hardware option in the S1 that is there in case the Hydrocomm or Solar Charger ever does get released some day? As always your feedback is super valuable. Cheers, Karl
Thanks for sharing your experience with their customer service! I can't seem to ever get a straight answer. It's a real letdown if they do discontinue both features. Even without the Hydrocomm and solar panel though, it's still a great premium style cleaner for the price, especially right now with that sale price. I know the technology takes a while to develop. Even with the Beatbot Aquasense Pro, which boasts itself as the "smartest" cleaner on the market with all their tech, they're limited as well. I really do like the idea of separate accessories that can be attached to a cordless cleaner though. Like, now I'm expecting new cordless cleaners to follow this pattern as well. Also, I did not notice the app picking up a normal S1 signal. I'm also also curious why that would be. I mean, no way they would add that for free later on, but maybe you're right, could be for those extra accessories if they're ever released.
Like some others I was very persuaded by the Beatbot Aquasense Pro, and almost pulled the trigger on one. But I also noticed a lot of raving reviews were by people provided the product for free. Thanks to your review, and mainly by the fact you spent your own money on your robots, I just ordered the Aiper Scuba S1 Pro at the current discount PLUS the additional percentage off with the code mentioned below. Hope this works out well. Replacing my very old Dolphin Diagnostic RD-DC. Still runs great, but the cable drives me nuts.
Thank you! Honestly, I have set the Aquasense Pro on the side for weeks now. I switched to using the Scuba S1 and then more recently the S1 Pro and combine it with an automatic pool skimmer. The combo works great, better I'd say, than the Aquasense Pro, and it was way less expensive. Hope the Scuba S1 Pro works out for you!
Thanks for your advice David. I just returned my Aqua Sense Pro and I am waiting for the Scuba Pro 1 to get here and crossing my fingers it will be good. I had the Seagull Aiper last year and the knob broke. I really want a cordless pool vac, and I am hoping this one works as well for me.
I didn't return it. I still have it. But at the moment I prefer the combo of having a cordless robotic cleaner and an automatic pool skimmer in the pool at the same time. Two machines on at the same time.
Its pretty good with wall cleaning compared to the Beatbot as it really covers the whole wall and waterline..The trouble is when it goes to the floor mode.It just goes circling around in one area and I have to turn it off and change the mode to floor manually to work. The other issue in floor mode is that it seems it has a number of cycle in one direction before it changes to other direction so once it reaches the end side,it would keep going to its pattern in the end are for how ever how long before it changes direction to the other side of the pool.
Just ordered it off the Aiper website and found a 15% off coupon for further discount off the sale pricing they have going on now. For overall a great price. Looking forward. Am replacing a 5 years old Dolphin Nautilus CC which has served me very well but it seems it’s met its end (it seems an electronic issue that there’s no way around without replacing the board etc out of warranty).
You are so awesome at this. I’d love to hear your thoughts about the the S1 Pro versus the Scuba non pro when you consider it’s double the price - thanks
Already working on a video comparing both! In short, the Scuba S1 works better as a simple plug and play cleaner, especially if you don't want the wifi/online app aspect. The S1 Pro is better if you have a larger/more complex pool, OR if you want an ultra-fine filter, OR if you actually do want wifi capability and an online app, OR you just like nice things and have the money lol.
Thank you! And here I thought people would notice my underwatered yard lol. Also, I don't know if you're in the market for the S1 Pro but I just wanted to let you know that it's currently on sale on their main website for a couple hundred off the Amz price. Add the coupon code "ASAP15" to promo codes before checkout for even more of a discount... I paid more for mine!
Thank you so much David for you feedback and honest review. Its so hare do know when people are sponsersed if its the truth. I had a dolphin with a cord which I loved but the cord is such a hassle. I ordered the Beat Box Aqua Sense Pro and it worked for an hour in pro-mode. and then spun in the middle of the pool and during the hour it worked it did not pick up much of the dirt. The good news is the company was very responsive and willing to help fix it or let me return it. I am going to try the AIper Scupba S1 Pro, based on your reco with the separate skimmer. It seems of all the cordless vaccums you have reviewed this in the one you would go with? Thanks for your help
Thank you! The S1 Pro is my current favorite yes. If you don't need the skimmer function of the Aquasense Pro or if you have/will get a separate skimmer, the S1 Pro is best for the price. I'm currently using the S1 Pro with different automatic pool skimmers and it works really well with any brand skimmer.
The one thing that suck about Aiper is their customer service. Placed my order in April as a "pre-order", after talking to an Aiper rep that said shipping will start in May. I was ok with waiting, but then my neighbor placed an order end of April, got his S1 Pro beginning of May. Then I see Aiper advertised the S1 Pro as in "stock" on Facebook, and several people received their S1 Pro right away, and there are those that placed their order before April haven't got their unit, some placed their order after April got theirs. I contacted Aiper, they reminded me that my order was a "pre-order", after several emails, it keeps going back to that it's a "pre-order". Talked to a rep, she said "end of June", it would be great to have a pool cleaner for swimming season and not half way through. They have no answer on the comm or solar charging, and I just found out, my neighbor's friend placed his order 2 weeks ago, got his S1 Pro last week.
I totally agree with you. I do NOT like Aiper on a customer service level. They are very unclear on things and terrible at responding. It's totally unfair for you how they're treating you, considering the fact you pre-ordered. As much as I love their cleaners, I very much dislike their customer service.
Good review, however my S1 Pro does not behave anything like yours. Cleaning pattern is somewhat random and cleans the same area over and over. Despite starting it in shallow end it keeps finding its way to the deep end where it then stays. So far does a worse job than my old tethered random cleaner.
Hey David, that you did your honest reviews. Question. What is your ultimate go to for a cordless robotic pool cleaner? I'm not ste I care much about the skimmer feature that cleans the surface of the water because it all ends up on the bottom for the most part anyway. Do you have a cordless favorite that you use? Thank you. Appreciate what you do....
My current favorite cleaner is this Scuba S1 Pro. Mainly for two reasons. One, there is a weekly timer function so I can leave it for a week at a time before needing to charge. And two, it has an ultra-fine filter option. For those times I want a more deeper clean. However, if you don't need those 2 options there are other cordless cleaners that do well that are less in cost. Really depends on what features you want I'd say.
I owned a Genkinno P2 and they provide a remote control to direct the robot the whole time.Hope Aiper can has the function then my family can just racing the robot under water😁
Oh yes, I have always loved separate physical remote controls to cleaners. They connect to the cleaner much better and use a different frequency. Much less lag and latency when pushing a button
Hey David, awesome channel! Glad I found it. My Dolphin Premier Robotic Pool Cleaner died just after 3 years and I'm looking at this robot. You think it will last longer than 3 years in my salt water pool? Also looking at the Scuba S1 little brother too. Love to hear any thoughts you have. Keep up the amazing youtube work.
The Premier is one of my all time favorite cleaners. I use the heck out of it during fall with the leaf bag and all my trees. That's the best part of the Premier for me. That with the constant power since it's a corded cleaner. The Aiper Scuba S1 Pro right now is my go to during the swim season where I get less debris. But it's very different than the Premier. Hands down, the Scubas are more convenient to use and move around and I love them. But I know that when the fall comes, the battery won't be able to keep up with all the debris unlike the Premier. But if you're not surrounded by trees like me, during the fall season, the Scubas will do great. With longevity it's tough to say since they're still new cleaners. But I have an older Seagull Pro from Aiper and that's been around for about 2 years now. And that's still up and running fine if it's worth anything.
Awesome video. I'm currently debating this one vs. the Dolphin Nautilus CC Plus. I do want an ultrafine filter (so I'd need to shell out $50 for the Dolphin for those), but otherwise am just looking for a quality clean that gets the entire pool. Stated another way, I'm fine having to retrieve and charge this one after every use IF it gets me better floor cleaning than the Nautilus CCP (and then the waterline cleaning would be a bonus). Since they are currently priced about the same, what do you recommend? I already returned a Dolphin Premier since it couldn't climb my walls, and the floor mapping seemed pretty awful.
I'm very impressed with the Pro model right now. The navigation system is better than the CC Plus and it also climbs walls and cleans the waterline. You can actually get it cheaper on the main Aiper site right now than amz has it and also add the coupon code "ASAP15" for a bigger discount. Making it less expensive than the CC Plus even
I wonder if all of the Scuba pro being returned with issues I don't see any refurbished S1 pro on their website, are they selling the return items as new and not replacing any parts . I bought one and they sent me another one which they said was new but also had a problem with that one. My first scuba pro will climb the wall and when it starts to come down it falls off the wall in the deep end but won't do it on the shallow end. The second one they sent me again they said is brand new,,,one of the motors would not start. I had the Seagull pro and had no issue with that one except the control knob would be hard to turn and the lid to remove the basket would not close.
Really good in wall cleaning and waterline especially the coverage. The floor cleaning though is where im not happy. It seems it is programmed to do a number of s pattern that is why it doesn't go to the other way when it reaches one end.It will keep doing the pattern for how long it is programmed that is why at first you would think it is stucked in one end instead of starting to move other end.
I'll have to test that out in floor mode. I usually drop it in the exact same spot in my pool and it ends up on the other side of the pool. I've been using the weekly timer in Eco mode and it's always in a different spot every other day so with no debris on the floor but I'll have to watch it when I get a chance on just floor mode.
@@imdefinitelydavid yes, watch it as it reach to the other end and you would see that it would still keep going in the same direction for a while thats why it would seem that it is stucked in the othe end of the pool but after reaching the either a timer ( more than 20 mins) or number of turns then eventually it would change direction and starts going back to the other end. Both the unit from Amazon and aiper website did the same.I just hook it back to the other end where it started and let it continue with its pattern so i dont waste time and battery waiting for it to eventually turn back to the other side.My guess is that it is because it is designed for a bigger pool while mine is only 30ft long but I am hoping they could correct the program where it would start turning to the other side once it detects that it reaches the end of the pool.
I'm having the same problem... I was thinking that it just gets stuck doing the same pattern over and over in my deep end. Your explanation makes sense. They should fix this ASAP.
@@baldeepmac The first one I got from Amazon did this in floor mode then I returned it after I saw the 250 price difference from aiper website but that unit also did the same. For now i just hook it back to where I dropped it first than wait for it to turn back to get the 2nd pass on the floor. Its an inconvenience but It really does a great job in wall mode and waterline mode so Im keeping it.
Another great review. I’m deciding whether to go with the S1 or S1 Pro. My concern as I’ve messaged before is the depth of the shallow end of my pool. I can’t find the dimensions of both cleaners on their site. Can you let me know the overall height of both cleaners David?
Thanks for this video in an unusual pool! I've just changed my Seagull Pro because it wasn't working properly and bought this one. Do you know if we'll be able to do system updates from the application?
Thanks for the great review. Just got mine and wondering if your charger gets really hot when charging. I have only charged mine once but it gets so hot you cannot hold it which doesn't seem normal.
Mine gets pretty warm as well. Did you charge it in a hot environment? Like maybe it was 90+ degrees sitting outside? I find that if I charge it early in the day when it's cooler it's not as hot as opposed to later on when it's noticeably warmer. I know there's some sort of recommended charging environment temperature for all chargers but I can't find the number right now
@@imdefinitelydavid Thanks for the reply. It was in the evening and in the shade. Probably only around 78 degrees. I literally could not hold it for more than a few seconds it was so hot. I'll see how it is during the next charging cycle.
That is exactly a video I will be doing once I get the Wybot S2. They're in the same class and similar price tag. I am curious as to how much more "high end" the S2 really is.
Hi David, I bought the Aquasense Pro, based on your review. Just received it today and used it for the first time. Used pro mode and observed that it did not do a very good job of cleaning the floor or skimming. Pool was already fairly clean, but the Aquasense missed 50%+ of the leaves on the floor and surface. Was optimistic, but ended up pretty disappointed with it's performance. I guess all the sponsored and free product reviews (know your review was honest) were a red flag. Will maybe give it one more shot tomorrow then return (via Amazon), if performance not significantly better. That being said, I did really like that the app let me know when it was done and it parked on the surface and was easy to reach and remove from pool. Presuming performance will not be any better, what should I do? Should I get this pro and the Apier skimmer, or the regular S1 and Apier skimmer, or something else? Also, does the Scuba Pro have OTA updates? Thank you!
I'm really liking the S1 Pro more every day as I use it. I think the combo of the S1 Pro with the skimmer would be great, even better than the Aquasense Pro because the skimmer would be on all the time(assuming it's charged enough) as opposed to the Aquasense Pro where you have to wait for it to transform itself basically. The navigation system on the S1 Pro is impressive too. I noticed it sensed my return jets and skimmer and went around them in the pool. The Aquasense didn't do that or at least I didn't notice it. Plus the potential for the Hydrocomm later on being added to the S1 Pro makes it a stable wifi connection so you get better controls from the app. Right now, there are more features on the app from Beatbot but if the Hydrocomm gets released soon, I think it'll be better. And yes, the S1 Pro supports firmware updates through the app. Hope this helps!
Thank you so much!! 😃 I think because of the 26 pound weight it might not be for me!! (Im taking care of pool maintenance and I can’t wait for my husband lol) I’m waiting for my refund from the Aiper scuba N1 because they were missing the filter and they didn’t have any in stock. I’m really leaning towards the seato shark (but I can’t find one for Canada) they have a new crab on Amazon? But some say the track gets loose and it broke within 4 months?
Yeah unfortunately the Shark is no longer for sale that I can find. And the new Seal/Crab isn't as good as last year's model imo. And that version has also been discontinued. The 26 lb weight limit can be a bit much, especially at the point when you're lifting it out of the edge of the pool for the first time and it's filled up, it's even heavier until it releases water
I just got the aquasense pro on the prime day sale with the extended warranty. But I’m also considering getting this. Have you tested the aquasense pro? If so how do they compare and which would you recommend?
Yes, I have reviewed the Aquasense Pro as well as the normal Aquasense. The Pro is great at being an all-in-one cleaner. That's where it shines. But the Aquasense Pro isn't great at any single feature. For example, it's not the best as just a standalone pool skimmer and not the best at just a standalone robotic cleaner. If you need both a robotic cleaner and surface skimmer in one and want the convenience of it being in just one machine AND you have the money to spend on it, then yes, the Aquasense Pro is worth it. But if you want to save some money, you could do a dual cleaner combo. A surface skimmer plus a robotic pool cleaner used at the same time. Something like the Aiper Scuba S1 Pro and the Betta SE Plus would work well for example, even better imo than the Aquasense Pro.
@@imdefinitelydavid thank you for your thoughts! I just watched your aquasense pro video. I think I’m going to try it out when it comes in and see how I feel about it. I don’t NEED the skimmer feature but it is nice to have for sure. If I can’t justify the price, I may go with the scuba s1 pro
I'm very impressed with the navigation system and obstacle avoidance with the S1 Pro. It was able to sense return jets, pool skimmer, main drains and shallow steps. It adjusted itself quite well. I'd say it's even better than the Aquasense Pro in this case. However, the downside is that Hydrocomm. Without it, the wifi app becomes very basic, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. I just wish these cleaners came with everything at once. This S1 Pro along with the skimmer is my go to cleaner right now. Honestly, I've set the Aquasense Pro aside for the time being.
I don't know if you're in the market for the S1 Pro but I just wanted to let you know that it's currently on sale on their main website for a couple hundred off the Amz price. Add the coupon code "ASAP15" to promo codes before checkout for even more of a discount... I paid more for mine!
Thanks for the review. Do you think it’s worth the double in price for the s1 pro.? I literally just bought the s1 last week. The water line feature is super tempting
I don't think the waterline feature is necessary, but yes, it's totally cool to see, and it really does save time cleaning just the waterline. If you get an especially dirty waterline, for sure upgrade it. But if you're happy with how the normal S1 does at this moment, I'd save the money and stick to it. Unless you're really keen on using the app and the "potential" extra optional accessories LATER ON. Bummer that most of those cool online features are not yet available.
Are you in the US? If you check the main Aiper site it's on sale for $899. Oh and there's a coupon code "ASAP15" for 15% off right now I think. Try that if you're in the US.
It self parks below 15% battery. That's when the led blinks red. It should move to the bottom of the floor closest to a wall when it parks. Unfortunately it doesn't climb up the wall to the waterline for retrieval.
Totally hard question to answer because everyone has a different pool. What works well in one pool might not work well in another. It should be more so what features you want in a cleaner and the price point I think
I purchased the Aiper Scuba S! pro last month. Was wondering if any other people are experiencing debris falling out of the machine when you remove it from the water.? Not happy with this
Sometimes debris causes the inner flap of the basket to remain open as it is controlled by a small spring. When you pull the unit out of the water, debris exits the unit because the flap remains open. It's a bad design!
Can you set it to wall clean (app only function) in the app then put it in the water to perform that function, even though you lose wifi? It cleans the waterline but not the walls
Yes, there's Wall and then there's Waterline mode. Once you select the mode on the app and place it in the pool, it turns on and starts in the mode you selected on the app.
Anyone have any issue connecting to the internet? I have not been able to succefully connect it to my internet. It gets to 90% and then fails everytime. I have turned off the 5.0 Ghz network to make sure that the 2.4 Ghz network is only available.
The one in the background? That's the Aiper Surfer S1. It's an automatic pool skimmer. Works off solar power and you can also charge it as well. Check out my other videos on pool skimmers! 👍
David, I'm so frustrated by these robotic pool cleaners... Don't know what to do! I bought a aquasense pro which did not clean well and I returned for a scuba S1 Pro and surfer S1. In auto mode the Scuba Pro gets stuck on my swim ledge going up and down in a never-ending repeating pattern. In floor mode the scuba Pro gets stuck on the deep end going back and forth in a never-ending repeating pattern. I was never able to connect the surfer to the app ( scuba connected fine ) and after 4 days the surfer kept spinning around in circles. Did many resets, to no avail. Just ordered the betta se plus but I have no idea what to do for a robot cleaner for the rest of the pool. I would really like to stick with cordless. What do you suggest?
Wow every cleaner that you've used so far and had issues has worked well in my pool. So it's hard to recommend another cleaner... it does sound frustrating and I hope it gets better
I also returned the aqua sense pro. I love the Scuba 1 pro but also noticed it gets stuck in the deep end and wondering if I should return or just use in the wall/floor mode.
It probably won't clean a very shallow deck(no cleaner will, at least the ones I've tested) because it needs enough water to move in and out the machine and shallow water doesn't have enough surface area.
Our shallow sundeck is about 8 inches deep and is 7’x15’. I am not concerned with having that area cleaned, just looking for a cleaner when cleaning the walls it doesn’t shut down when it gets to the sundeck area. Would be nice if it did go back to deeper water or if could program to clean floor/walls and not go up on sundeck and shutdown. Thank you for the great reviews you do!
Instead of the S1 Pro, the normal S1 would do just fine I think. Even the Wybot C1 would be a good choice. I've never had either of those two get stuck on my ledge. They both know to back up and not power down.
Hi David i looked on the aiper web site and i dont see any mention of a remote control and it is not in the "what comes in the box" in the listing? Scott
It has "app control" and not a remote control. Maybe that's where the confusion is. Sounds similar but different. When I think remote control I think of a physical piece of plastic with buttons on it. The Aiper S1 Pro does NOT have a remote control. It does however, have App control. Which is an online app you download and connect to and by using it you get access to cleaning modes, battery indicator, and cleaning history. But even in that app, there is NO REMOTE CONTROL function unfortunately. Hope that makes sense
@@imdefinitelydavid thanks for your reply @8:13 you mention that you'll get a physical remote control" but your saying that that will only come with the hydro link when it becomes available?
Correct. That was based off the Hydrocomm being released. However, as of about a month or so ago they said that they were no longer going to release it, at least not in the US. Major bummer
The N1 and S1 Pros are the same cleaner but marketed towards different retailers and only differ in colors. On the inside they're the same cleaner. The S1 versions are sold online through Amz and other online sellers. The N1 versions are sold online with other different sellers as well but also will be sold to the big name box stores you can walk into(local pool store/lowes/etc). And both S1/N1 are also available together on the main Aiper site.
@@imdefinitelydavid Oh my gosh I love how knowlegeable you are! Okay the Aiper website it says the N1 was coming with solar panels but hydro something., but I dont need all that .
@@imdefinitelydavid The N1 Pro webpage also mentions ability to solar charge, and I don't see that on the S1 Pro. Is that available on both, and just not listed? I tried chatting on the website, but the person who responded didn't know...
I just checked again and yes, both the S1, S1 Pro and N1 series have "solar panel compatibility". Or at least it still says it does. However, I've heard from many reps that they have discontinued the solar panel and their Hydrocomm accessories so it won't be available on any of them which is a bummer.
The S1 Pro would be my choice. The Zima Pro won't climb up steep ledges on its own because of how long it physically is. Although it's totally cool to be connected to wifi all the time and great to control it like an rc car, it's kind of more work for me than the S1 Pro is, which does climb ledges well.
I really did love the Liberty 300 when it was first released. It was a big name brand cleaner and the only one on the market at that time with a weekly timer, so I was willing to pay the high price tag. But fast forward now, you've got these new cleaners like the S1 Pro that is less expensive with more features... Dolphin and Polaris really need to up their game. They're betting off of their reputation and brand name, but value wise, these smaller companies are offering way more for the price. I'll always love Maytronics cleaners. My first cleaner was a Dolphin... but in this case, S1 Pro wins!
I swap out a few cordless cleaners because I have the luxury of having so many of them lol. I tend to have a fully charged one on the side ready to go on a weekly basis. I always prefer cleaners with weekly timers because I get so busy/forget to turn them on and off. I've been using the Scuba S1 with the weekly timer and swapping it every other week when it needs to charge with the Dolphin Liberty 300 with weekly timer. But now with this S1 Pro, I'll most likely use this one and swap it weekly with the normal S1. If I had to pick just one though, my current favorite is this S1 Pro, for sure.
Yes, I do. The new Seauto Seal/Crab is great for being a plug and play cleaner, super powerful, and aggressive for the price. But they removed the optional cleaning modes out of the box compared to last years model and I really do prefer cleaners with a weekly timer. If the Seal had a timer it'd be my choice. But that's just me, if you don't need a weekly timer it's still great! The Scubas are more expensive, but they have that weekly timer function I love.
To add to that... I don't know if you're in the market for the S1 Pro but I just wanted to let you know that it's currently on sale on their main website for a couple hundred off the Amz price. Add the coupon code "ASAP15" to promo codes before checkout for even more of a discount... I paid more for mine! Lol
I have a rectangular pool with free floating stairs so the robot can pass below. The scuba S1 pro can't clean the wall (will get stuck below the stairs when trying to get up), it can't clean the pool (if not placed in parallel to wall, it won't align itself to the wall. It will not clean the borders where the wall ends to the floor), it can't do the waterline (it will just go/down up every few cms). Also it won't come down to the side of the pool if it runs low on energy neither (just had to grab it in the middle of the pool). Support says it's a known issue and firmware update will come in 1 month... other users write 3 months.... Sorry, but these positive reviews seem all to be paid reviews. If you could leave it the pool and it would clean the pool every day for a week, then great... but so far no success.
@thibautbritz9382 Get your money back. I'm going to stick it out and wait for the supposed software update. I've been using mine just fir bottom cleaning until then.
Sorry to hear that about your pool. I try to give my honest opinion but obviously every pool is different. It sounds like your pool is more complicated in design. I'm not sponsored by Aiper. I actually have DECLINED paid partnerships with them. Yes, I DO NOT like the company on a personal level(they've used my content without permission in the past) but I do like their cleaners. That's why I'd much rather pay for their cleaners myself and review them, unsponsored. Again, sorry to hear it didn't work out!
It's a better deal with bigger battery and more power than the Liberty series. I'm very impressed with how the S1 Pro moves and cleans. And right now on the main Aiper site there's a nice sale going on. You can even get a bigger discount if you add the coupon code "ASAP15" when checking out. Makes the cleaner worth it even more!
@@imdefinitelydavid thanks for the reply. Ive ordered mine and it came down to 765$ and use the earned points to order the aiper Surfer s1 for 240$. Good deal? Worth the money for not so known berand?
I just received today this hoower and let him work. All works fine, except of 3um filter. This was one of reasons I bought it. The filter is there just like a marketing. Water is not forced to go through, because it can flow arround filter from all sides. So what will water do? Will flow not through the filter, but arround, as it is less obstacle. The 3um filter engineering is absolutly shit and useless. It can not really work. The same result will be without the filter. All very fine particles are throughn away of hoower through nozzles. By the way it was also visible, clouds of fine particles went out of nozzles, when hoower sucked it from the floor. All other functions seems to be OK. For sure 3um filter is just empty marketing, or I received it incomplete inside the filters compartment.
Sorry but this is a bad designed robot! It's very slippery on tiles It cant climb on walls if the corners are curved and with tiles The navigation is not existent and laughable, it can stay on a corner for two hours and leave a huge part of the floor uncleaned. The tracks are slippery and the robot is too light, so when it hits a corner on angle its drifting by its momentum and it goes on a completely different path leaving the rest of the area dirty! (Yes i removed all the air when singing it, and also removed the microfilter in case it could achieve better suction power) The Microfilter is a joke, there are two huge holes left and right where all the unfiltered water passes through into the propellers The garbage bin if its slightly dirty, the dirt blocks the lid from closing and when you lift the robot it spreading debris into the water I upgraded it with Firmware V1.01 but absolutely nothing changed! This should cost 100$ and be advertised as a toy... Very unsatisfied!
Do not buy this product. Defective after three months of use, I have been trying to enforce the warranty for 6 weeks and nothing. Here is the last message I just sent them: I find your answers unacceptable. I filed a complaint with Amazon for breach of warranty. You have stretched the time so as not to respect the warranty on the product. All I asked was to return the unit for repair, nothing more. You have made many promises that you have never kept. This is unacceptable. Please note that I will file a legal complaint for a refund if, within 10 days, I do not obtain satisfaction. Additionally, I will endeavor to give you bad publicity on all networks and online platforms at my disposal. Your product is not good and your after-sales service is deplorable. I demand a full refund, replacement or repair free of charge from you within 10 days, failing which I will file a complaint against your company.
I just purchased this unit based on your stellar review and looking forward putting it to good use. Thank you David!
Thank you! 😃
Only issue I have seen is that I also have 2 large "drains" on the side wall of my pool which feeds some laminer jets and it cannot get over those
Thanks for your input!
Your pool sounds more complicated, so it's great you can give your input as well. Appreciate it! 👍
And yes, the two part filter system with the ultra-fine filter is 👍
Forgot to mention the pool is Pebble tec
I hope it does for you too!
@@imdefinitelydavid now that sounds very interesting 🤔 thx for the information. Hope to see a video in it soon 🍻
Cheers,
Karl
Thanks for this comprehensive, objective and very helpful review!
I hope so as well!
why returned the Aquasense Pro?
Sounds like you got good use out of the CC! The S1 Pro will be a definite change. Cleaners have come quite a ways now in 5 years. Enjoy!
@@imdefinitelydavid Thanks David - BTW you have a lovely yard!
@@imdefinitelydavid I think reviews lead me to the scuba versus the much more expensive pro. Thanks
Good choice! 👍
Hey David why are all these comments negative, Home Depot has it on sale I want to buy it since Home Depot will back it
Thank you so much David for you feedback and honest review.
@@imdefinitelydavid Amazing, yea I have the betta Skimmer that I love.
Aiper support told me the Hydrocomm device was “cancelled.” I don’t think they could get it to work consistently.
@@imdefinitelydavid Very helpful - thanks for the great info!
Oh sorry, I just went out of town for the day. But I will be back tomorrow and get those measurements for you by the end of the day.
@@imdefinitelydavid no rush David.
The height of the normal Scuba S1 is about 8" and the S1 Pro is about 11.25"
Thanks for this video in an unusual pool! I've just changed my Seagull Pro because it wasn't working properly and bought this one. Do you know if we'll be able to do system updates from the application?
The app has the "firmware update" section so I would assume it can yes.
@@imdefinitelydavid Cool!
Hey David! Do you have any thoughts or experience between the Aiper Scuba S1 Pro and the Wybot S2? Any thoughts on one over the other? Thanks!
I had this exact experience with the Aqua Sense Pro. Feels like they are trying to do to many things and none of them are excellent for that price.
How would you say this robot cleans compared to the AquaSense Pro? The price point on this cleaner is much better than the Beatbot, for sure.

@@imdefinitelydavid I guess the question remain if it’s worth twice as much. Amazon now is $1000

@@imdefinitelydavid nice! Thanks. I’m definitely returning the one from Amazon! Great work!
@@imdefinitelydavid last question. How long did it take for you to get it from aiper?
Does it self-return, come up to the outer edge and park itself.? Not a fan of using the hook every time. Also does it have a charge stand?
It doesn’t, it will show a red light on the led strip indicating it will die soon.
It self parks below 15% battery. That's when the led blinks red. It should move to the bottom of the floor closest to a wall when it parks.
Unfortunately it doesn't climb up the wall to the waterline for retrieval.
What is the best-performing AquaBot? There are so many on the market! Thx
Totally hard question to answer because everyone has a different pool. What works well in one pool might not work well in another. It should be more so what features you want in a cleaner and the price point I think
@@imdefinitelydavid no price restriction. What is Best aquabot on the market that does the most.
I purchased the Aiper Scuba S! pro last month. Was wondering if any other people are experiencing debris falling out of the machine when you remove it from the water.? Not happy with this
Yup. You gotta go fast!
Very cool, but what is that floating skimmer device? I'm looking for something like that?
The one in the background? That's the Aiper Surfer S1. It's an automatic pool skimmer. Works off solar power and you can also charge it as well. Check out my other videos on pool skimmers! 👍
@@imdefinitelydavid Thanks, I'll check it out.
@@imdefinitelydavid Can you use the Aiper Surfer at the same time as the S1 Pro? So you can clean top and bottom at the same time?
Yes you can! A very good combo that I currently use. I have the Pro and normal S1 and both work at the same time with the skimmer.
Will it clean shallow sun deck areas? The one we have when on wall cleaning mode it will shut off when it gets to the shallow areas.
Ordered it earlier from Amazon.. Hopefully this is it
I just ordered from Aiper website and saved $300+. I believe you can return and then order directly from aiper
@@kryptonitedelgado1409 exactly what i did and got for for 750
Hi David i looked on the aiper web site and i dont see any mention of a remote control and it is not in the "what comes in the box" in the listing?
@@imdefinitelydavid thanks
@@imdefinitelydavid should i buy one ? lol
One more question looks like you can pre-order the Aiper Scube N1 Pro do you know anything about that one David?
The N1 and S1 Pros are the same cleaner but marketed towards different retailers and only differ in colors. On the inside they're the same cleaner.
The S1 versions are sold online through Amz and other online sellers. The N1 versions are sold online with other different sellers as well but also will be sold to the big name box stores you can walk into(local pool store/lowes/etc).
And both S1/N1 are also available together on the main Aiper site.
@@imdefinitelydavid Oh my gosh I love how knowlegeable you are! Okay the Aiper website it says the N1 was coming with solar panels but hydro something., but I dont need all that
.
Would you pick this or the Degrii Zima Pro ?
The S1 Pro would be my choice. The Zima Pro won't climb up steep ledges on its own because of how long it physically is.
Although it's totally cool to be connected to wifi all the time and great to control it like an rc car, it's kind of more work for me than the S1 Pro is, which does climb ledges well.
Whitch one is better? The Scuba pro or the Liberty 300? Thanks!
Thank you. I was waiting for such a rewiew. I‘ll order the S1 pro!
Make sure to look at that discount on their main website. It's a couple hundred less than Amz, especially with that extra coupon code.
David, What cordless pool cleaner do you use these days?
Thank you. So you prefer this new over the Seauto Seal SE?
Lol
Great. Thank you
What does the device do at the end of the cleaning cycle?
It will park itself at the bottom of the pool floor, closest to a wall(not climb up the wall, but stays at the closest point near the wall).
Shipped with faulty software. Supposedly going to be fixed in 3 months.
Would you still recommend this vs dolphin liberty 300 or 400?
It's a better deal with bigger battery and more power than the Liberty series. I'm very impressed with how the S1 Pro moves and cleans.
And right now on the main Aiper site there's a nice sale going on. You can even get a bigger discount if you add the coupon code "ASAP15" when checking out. Makes the cleaner worth it even more!
@@imdefinitelydavid thanks for the reply. Ive ordered mine and it came down to 765$ and use the earned points to order the aiper Surfer s1 for 240$. Good deal? Worth the money for not so known berand?
Yeah I paid more for mine lol...
But Aiper has been around for years now. They're not gigantic like Dolphin or Polaris but they're a solid company.
@@imdefinitelydavid we will see how long it will tske for them to shipp. Might takentill wnf od the month or june when you order from their website.
Terrible design on the charging port- it allows water in which means bad things when plugged in. Mine melted and almost caught on fire
Sorry but this is a bad designed robot!
It's very slippery on tiles
It cant climb on walls if the corners are curved and with tiles
The navigation is not existent and laughable, it can stay on a corner for two hours and leave a huge part of the floor uncleaned.
The tracks are slippery and the robot is too light, so when it hits a corner on angle its drifting by its momentum and it goes on a completely different path leaving the rest of the area dirty! (Yes i removed all the air when singing it, and also removed the microfilter in case it could achieve better suction power)
The Microfilter is a joke, there are two huge holes left and right where all the unfiltered water passes through into the propellers
The garbage bin if its slightly dirty, the dirt blocks the lid from closing and when you lift the robot it spreading debris into the water
I upgraded it with Firmware V1.01 but absolutely nothing changed!
This should cost 100$ and be advertised as a toy...
Very unsatisfied!
Do not buy this product. Defective after three months of use, I have been trying to enforce the warranty for 6 weeks and nothing. Here is the last message I just sent them:
I find your answers unacceptable.
