  • We explored the National Mall in Washington, DC, recently -- from the U.S. Capitol to the Jefferson Memorial -- and almost all of the monuments and memorials in-between. If you haven't made this walk, you really should. It is a great time to reflect up on our nation, its founding, its evolution, and the growth of our people and institutions through time.
We visited the US Capitol, saw the White House, and visited the Washington Monument, the World War II Memorial, the Lincoln Memorial, the Korean War Memorial, the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial, and the Jefferson Memorial. We missed the Vietnam War Memorial, but will get there next time!
Travel is not just about going somewhere. It's about learning, reflection, understanding, and taking the lessons of the past to build a better future for all people. That is, and must be, the goal of our government and our nation.
