I really wish people who are demonstrating things like guitars and pups would use a $400 amp - and no other effects otherwise what is the purpose - what is "miked with a SM57 and Rode NT1 mean? I just want to here the tone. Mike
In this case, it's a good thing. As far as I know, those are solid mics, so while a fender twin isn't a $400 amp, at least the sound you're hearing (from the mics) is a solid representation of what the guitarist is hearing. Assuming no production shenanigans, of course...
Micd with sm57 and rode nt1 is refering to the microphones used to record the amplifier, and the microphones used are very high quality. The amplifier is a good amplifier, and represents the pickups very well. I promise you, you are getting the most precise recorded tone.
In a nutshell the City Limits set is a bit 'hotter' and designed to break up and get dirty. The bridge pickup is also significantly Hotter. The Classic Blues set, will stay a bit cleaner. I think.
Perfect woody sound! Sound like true vintage strat.

I’ve had great success with TR pickups!

Can you please tell me the difference between these and the city limits set. I'm looking for clean but also thicker than normal strat sound

City limits is like the fender tex mex. Almost shrill. These are better if you want a rounder sound.
@@joegremal5107 For whoever is still reading... I owned the City Limits and I didn't think they were shrill. Loved them. Very bold sounding but round.
@@nicolasdelcastillo6497 agreed. Just dropped a set into an old Squier. The change is remarkable!
@@joegremal5107these have a very similar spec to the tex mex set
