    I have one too.
    It is a decent unit for what it was made for. It will run a 32-inch lcd TV for 8 hours or all day with Solar panels cuz it has pass thru charging. You can convert Harbor Freight existing solar panels to work if you don't want to wait for the new panels to come into stock. Also, you can get 2 hours charging if you plug 2 chargers in it. I tried it. One in the back and one in the USB input.
    It will also run LED/USB lights, a low power ham radio, and charge a phone during a power outage. It will also run a laptop or charge some power tool batteries. I like it.
    It can't match a big power station It won't run a full-size Coffee pot (if I need coffee off grid I use my percolator and Coleman stove), or microwave or a heater, but even a big power station will lose battery power very fast though if you try to run high wattage stuff through them. Even a Eco flow Delta without a bunch of solar panels will get drained in about an hour and a half if you plug it to a 1000- or 1500-watt space heater.
    Use it for light duty stuff for what it was designed for, and it works fine.
    If I need power, I would not use this as a primary back up power source. But paired with a solar panel, It is a good supplement to a generator. If i need to run something big, I use a small Champion inverter gas/propane generator.

      I think we have the same mind set on this. My main use for this is to use at conventions, maybe some camping, but mainly to power a small arcade, TV, old nintendo's, Atari etc.. Low power stuff. For a primary backup, at least right now, I have a Honda 2200 generator. I was surprised by what this would run, but my main use is for conventions.. Thanks for your comment. I appreciate it.

      @@chrisp308 Yes, perhaps.. But this does everything I need it to do. Running old videos games at conventions. Still testing it on stuff but it ran my Street fighter arcade all night long with the sound off. It's still fun to see what it does or doesn't do. And it's cheap enough for me. :)

    Came here from Kearny Farm channel. Thanks for the review. People should understand that every product has a use case and this one fit yours, so that's all that matters. I have a few "smaller" power stations for specific duties like being a UPS for my router, NAS, TV, streaming device and soundbar. Although I think the ecoflow river 2 or 3 is better, being able to buy/return locally has it's own value. Keep up the good work.

    • @JDPDoingStuff
      @JDPDoingStuff  28 วันที่ผ่านมา +3

      Thanks J.. I appreciate that. There are a lot of people on here that are hating on it, but they've not got one yet. I'd like to see them get one, then hate on it. I do agree that although this works great for what I am using it for. I will most likely be getting the River 2 or 3, not sure which one yet. Also the harbor freight 600 is on my list. I like the face that if something goes wrong, I can take it back to the store. As far as the charging, I don't see the big deal right now about one of the others charging a little faster. I can plug this in at night and it'll be charged full in the morning.
      BTW.. @KearneyCreekFarm channel is Awesome!!
      Rock on brother!

  • @shanesdiy
    @shanesdiy 24 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

    Geez the TH-cam trolls out in force on this one, settle down people! I appreciate you picking one of these up and showing us some tests. Saw this at HF a couple days ago so was doing some research. I just have a couple of things to point out. I did see in the manual you can charge with AC from the wall and solar/DC simultaneously so theoretically you might be able to charge at upwards of 150-200 watts. When you get your solar panels I'd like to see that test. You could do it now by plugging the DC cable into your car while plugged into the house at the same time.
    Second thing related to your video game machine. I wonder how much more run time you'd get if you just use the 12vdc output directly to your game machine rather than going from power station battery 13VDC -> 120VAC inverter -> 120VAC power supply -> 12VDC to the game. Certainly some loss through each conversion process. Might need to make yourself a cable to run direct to the power station DC output to the game machine.

    • @JDPDoingStuff
      @JDPDoingStuff  24 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @shanesdiy Yes.. they are out in force. The most troubling thing about it is not one of them purchased this thing before they say it's poop Lol.. Anyway I did the video mainly for people who have never had one and don't know about how to use these things. Of course someone needs to look at the power requirements on the device their using first. I knew the coffee maker wouldn't work, but how many people don't know that? And, Of course this isn't going to compete with a 500w + power station. This is in the sub 200 range.
      Charging via 12v and AC would really be a good test, and I think I'll do that on a short this weekend.
      I did get this specifically for the arcade machines so I think that's a good idea about running the arcades on 12v, I'm sure I can make a cable for that easily enough.

    It has a 350 watt inverter. 115 volts times amps equals watts. It will run a rice cooker 225 watts, a smoothie maker 60 watts and a hair dryer on low setting. It will run anything that draws 350 watts or less. It should also run a dc volt diesel heater as my Bluetti EB3A runs my diesel heater. Cool video. Thanks for posting.

      Predator COULD have made this to run 700W continuous .... Even if its only for 30 min, at least that open the door for a few more appliances.
      But $200 for 300W capacity cant be beat.
      You CANNOT get a 20V at 15ah or 40V at 8ah battery WITH the inverter for $200 ... That battery alone will be well over $200 PLUS the cost of the inverter which will be a modified sine wave and NOT a pure sine wave like this has.
      So this unit is a 300W capacity @ 300 running watts with (pure sine wave, irrelevant imo) for $200 ... cant be beat

    • @JDPDoingStuff

      I actually don't have one to test. It would really depend on the brand, but the little research I've done, the better ones like Pit Boss and Traeger use 300 to 500 watt startup for a few minutes and 30 to 50 watt per hour.
      If startup is at or around the 350 mark or less, I think this would run your grill.
      Someone with more knowledge and better math skills than I will surely chime in, but you'd really need to look at your startup power. Once started it looks like they all pull between 30 and 50 watts per hour, it's just the startup that needs looking at. The 700 watt surge is just that, a surge of power, not sustained.
      That all being said, if you weren't too far, we could definitely test it out! :D

    Best use on these little units are for back up power for say light load electronics. It will be great addition to the other Craftsman adapter inverter you have. Def get some solar to assist in it charging. There is also cables on Amazon that goes from USB C to XT60 connectors and USB C to Anderson connectors and such. But, this will allow you to use extra USB power bricks laying about to push power back into the predator battery generator while using the AC for various loads. This will help extend your run time. It may compete with the Jackery. Jackery level products and market is not where HF needs to be competing.
    The power is too low for any real utility or support of typical harbor freight customers who by their generators. Most people buy from them for backup power for use in disaster situations.
    While this is a step and may provide what their customers want in their products the power is currently way too low for any real utility at any significant length of time.

    The average coffee pot pulls between 650 and 750 watts or higher, and between 9 and 13 amps. Depending on the coffee pot. These small power stations are not rated for that kind of load. I have had 2 different power stations each one had a 500 watt pure sign wave inverter built in, and able to push out just about 8 amps MAX. They were both rated for 10 amps but the plastic on one started to melt at that amperage, and the other one just shut off over 7 amps. If you want to run a coffee pot then you need something that will handle 750 watts and 10 amps on the low end, and pray. A power station rated at 1000 watts and 12 amps will run a coffee pot, but they are very expensive. It's much cheaper just to buy a 1000 or 1500 watt DC to AC power inverter, and run it off batteries or a car alternator. Small power stations are good for charging cell phones or running a small DC fan or maybe a TV or a laptop, but not much more than that. In a power outage a small 500 watt power station can run a chest freezer for a limited amount of time. I did a 10 hour runtime test on our already froze Artic King 3.5 Cu Ft chest freezer using both the power stations that I bought. Those videos are on my own channel. The problem with cheap power stations from China is they tend to break down pretty quickly. Neither one of the power stations that I tested lasted a year before they broke down. In a pinch I do have ( FOUR ) 12 volt DC to AC power inverters ranging from 400 watts clear up to 5000 watts peak. I have TWO modified sign wave inverters and I have TWO 1500 Watt Pure Sign Wave Inverters. Even if the power station that you bought could handle all 350 watts that it's rated for that's not a lot of power. Think about it for a second. There are some computers that have a 650 watt or higher power supply, and some laptops can pull 120 watts or higher just by themselves. Some smart TV's can pull more than that as well. If you pulled your power station apart you would see that the wires are barely large enough to carry the 350 watts that it's rated for. The rating on these is usually a split second rating or peak rating for the power station, and not a continuous rating. If you want to use a coffee pot then you either need a much larger power station with a output of way more watts and amps, or a nice size DC to AC power inverter. I also hope you have better luck with harbor freight stuff than I have had. We purchased a generator from harbor freight, and it started once and it never started again. Come back in a year and let us know how it's holding up. Even if this can run 350 watts continuous that's still not a lot of power for a emergency.

    • @JDPDoingStuff
      @JDPDoingStuff  28 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Chris.. I hear ya. I do have a 1200 what dc inverter, but rarely have I ever used it. I don't need one of these for an emergency or to brew coffee.. I just wanted to try a bunch of stuff. I've actually had pretty good luck with Harbor Freight. Anything that didn't last, they always took it back no questions. I actually purchased a Torque Wrench from them probably 15ish years ago +/_ a couple years. I've used the cr@p out of it and it still works great. On the flip.. I purchase a breaker bar and it broke on the first bolt, Returned it to the store, they refunded me because they had no more in stock no questions asked. Went to Napa and got one there, for more money and it broke on the 4th bolt (rusty brakes on a trailer) and they gave me the run around when I returned it with receipt. This power station, if/WHEN it breaks, I can just take it back to the store.

      @@JDPDoingStuff It sounds like. I'm like you. I just do ytube for fun. I'm glad you like harbor freight, but there has never been anything that I have bought from them that was worth it. I bought a large C clamp from them once to help me put on some U joints on my old ford f150 and the clamp broke in half and hit me in the head. It left a pretty good size gash, and there was a lot of blood. Neither of the 2 power stations that I bought are still working, and they started out great. From what I can tell the first one shorted out and burned through some wire, and the BMS and the display went out on the second one. I did remove the battery packs for both of them but right now I can only use one pack with a small 400 watt inverter because the second one charges to 24 volts, and not 12 volt. You are welcome to check out my stuff if you like, then again my videos may not be to your taste. I do know that either one of the power stations that I had would run our chest freezer. I also did testing on our ARB fridge from 72 degrees to -4 degrees and they did a good job. About 8 hours was about as long as they ran my 58 Quart ARB fridge if I remember right. Since I pay for everything myself, and don't take or get discounts I can be pretty brutal when it comes to a review.

I also pay for things and find it hard sometimes to "do a comparison" It'll happen when it does. This Predator 350 was something I needed to do a certain task, and it does that well. If I wanted one of these power stations for emergencies, it would not be a small one like this.

I just don't understand why people can't get some type of emergency supplies, or backup power. We are on a fixed income and we still have rent and bills, but if you really want something then sometimes you have to give something up, or struggle for a while to get it. I'm do know that there will be people wanting you to do testing running your fridge, but even the 500 watt power stations that I had would not run my full size fridge. Or for the same money you can purchase a 1200 watt hour battery and an inverter

      There's always one. It's more so about convenience of an all in 1 unit for most people.

      @@ThisisForTheTV That's the case for me. It's easy to just grab it and go, plus it will look good running my arcades at Retro Video Game conventions.

      Ok - 100AH LiFePO4 battery $200, a decent PSW inverter (1000 watts), another $200. Yep, beats the per wh price of the Predator... or does it? You still need a charger, USB and 12volt power outputs, cables, wiring, etc etc.

      @OutdoorLiving88 considering that on HF that the comparable number of watt hours is $1300 and a charge controller is $15 bucks etc yes
      I built me one in and old rolling cooler and I have about 350 in it plus my time

      I saw them at Home Depot for 699 and 2199.. They aren't in this price range and they have much more capacity. Thanks for comment.

    Will it Brew Coffee?
    Do you NOT know how power works or have any clue on what appliances draw what power ???
    Anyone who knows electricity or knows what appliances draw would know that a coffee maker pulls WAY MORE than 350W and not to attempt this.

      @JDPDoingStuff  หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Evidently not.. Why the hate? Did you pick one of these up to test it yourself? As far as the coffee maker goes, Yes, I knew ahead of time it wouldn't do it because it pulls 750w. But that's what people want to know before buying something.. Not everyone knows everything about electricity or these power stations.

      @ the title says it all buddy 🤷🏽
      Questioning whether or not a 300W will power a 1500 watt coffee maker is the key that you dont know.

      No wifi, no bluetooth means no app control. They dropped the ball. The flip phone of power stations. Much better options out there for less. I'm not gonna get into the whole coffee thing🤣
