Jason was so fun to play as in MKX that it lead to me binging half the Friday movies in couple days. MKX is what got me into horror movies in general, oddly enough.
That’s how a guest character works. It helps advertise both franchises and brings fans of both series together. When Terminator Robocop and Rambo each came out I remember binging their movies as well lmao.
Jason was such a unique character. When you fought against him it really did feel like you were fighting against a character from a horror movie who was always in way more control than you ever were. I wish more fighting games would do stuff like that with their characters, just make them not as busted.

The ex clothesline is easily my favorite move in the game. There’s something so satisfying about instantly traveling the entire screen after armoring a projectile just to slug the other guy in the face.
It's also amazing how much of Jason's kit translated over to the Terminator in MK11, and how well it works despite the difference in the mechanical systems between those games. These characters were meant to terrorize people, and that translates well to the games.
Except when Jason came back if felt like you could still lose with his insane damage boost. When Arnold comes back you can just zone spam him until he's dead.
Jason in Relentless can do over 80% with a 5 hit combo into X-Ray. To do this, land a Jump In Punch, then press 2, 4, then F44 and cancel into X-Ray. Have fun. Edit for more trivia: The amount depends on specific numbers. At 50% he gets a 10% boost. At 25%, it's 25%. At 10% it's 33%, and at 5% it's 50% more dammy. Which is how you can crack 80% with this character with unnerving ease.

I won't lie, this is one of the only characters that I loved,but when you can do over 50+ damage in less than 5 hits just because your close to death in the relentless variation there was some definite carry energy going on

Man, I hated this character sooooo much! I was just a mediocre player, just getting my feet wet in online play. The amount of times I got rocked from one side of the screen to the other, I still have PTSD from Jason mix-ups. My poor Reptile still weeping in the corner.
For all the reasons listed above Jason in all his variations has always been my main.. Not only is he a damage machine, he's also very fun to play with above average brutalities... He's my boy!!!
Jason was one of the characters that carried almost half of my overall K/D ratio until I was safe enough to start practicing other characters publicly without having to worry about my losses being higher than my wins. Besides Jason and all his variations, Sektor and Scorpion are my other two best characters also adding Goro to be fair. Yea, I went there.
The lake mist teleport is the explanation to how he can move so fast huh, but seems he is smart enough to keep it a secret, which means he's going all out here

I assume due to copyright reasons at the time they couldn't make him look two different in his Variations like they could with Leatherface, but I assume that Slasher Jason was supposed to be FVJ Jason, then Relentless Jason was supposed to JTM Jason and Unstoppable Jason was supposed to be JGTH Hell.
5:52 not just higher, it can catch people who jump over him a little too close. As in if you jump to cross him over and you fall very close like shoulder to neck area. You would get vaccumed into his hands from behine him because it just worked.
Stacking both buffs at the same time also started refilling your meter until one of the buffs deactivated as well. Jason was fucking awesome in this game. Lol
I'm so thankful I never had to fight Relentless or Unstoppable Jason since every single one Jason player I fought used Slasher so I didn't have to deal with the crazy buffs or the armored teleporting command grabs.

I loved playing as the slasher variant because I could constantly get about 50-66% damage because of the range of the machete and the choke. My god I loved playing as him and wish that he could be in another MK game soon

With Jason being this good and scary, I'm a bit nervous about them adding Michael Myers in Mortal Kombat, if they add him. I'm nervous about how original he will be because I want Michael to have an original move set and not have moves ripped straight from Jason in MKX
I wish they make Myers unable to jump, period. As his special ability. The up-side? Enemy’s attacks cannot push him back. They only deal damage. (He can still be grabbed) So, it is impossible to combo against him, or zone him. He would be just sloooowly coming towards you and all you can do is hope that you can jump over him and not get stuck at the end of the screen.
Yeah the "red mode" had something nightmare - ish 4 real. The more hasty n panic driven, the escape attempts became, that more the victim deliverd itself thanks to the dpad letting them jump n go towards jason, everytime the reflexes 4 crouching n running away were kicking in. Once they managed to keep it together, the extra focus made them 4get to stay alert n watch there back ... where the lake mist caught'em. Real fun variation. Especially after the nerfed damage from the shit they done to the scaling, made unstoppable a hollow shell of his earlier self. At least i guess that was it. I remember doing his punch walk combo into xray with dmg buff on for lousy 43%. The same thing u can find in older clips of his early days, causing 61% already. It was a bad joke concidering the xray alone, doing almost 40 alone (38 or 39%) the five on top should b reached wth one hit of the intro combo, leaves 2 hits and the buff ineffective exept as a waste of time n added risk, while activating it.

One thing to note, you can completely negate the killing machine super armor sleep by literally just using a stage mobility based interactable right before it runs out, meaning there’s no downside if you get a combo because of the armor, and then ended it with wall jumping to reset neutral for free.
I wish you went into MORE detail!!! I mained relentless from 2016 and still take him out for a spin sometimes. Relentless can stack both the armor AND pursuit to completely guarantee a victory. the b3 into grab can also be switched into b3 launcher IN case people try to njp to escape. b2 was a decent anti air that could launch but on block can be switched into tight squeeze. In case opponents caught on and tried to jump you could do b2 choke and now they get caught jumping. It gets worse still! Back breaker WILL connect on a blocked down 1. If you pressure someone with d1 back breaker it will land. If they start jumping out of your d1 you can do d1 choke and now they’re hit by choke. Mind you b121 b121 b2 pursuit was a good way to drop the opponent off a combo and now they’re panicking while you can approach them. But if their health is low you end with armor instead, THEN PURSUIT as they try to hit you and their hits bounce off. You turn on pursuit and finish them off instantly. Lastly… take relentless jason for a spin and bring hp down to
The scariest character in a fighting game is Youkai Kusaregedo from the Samurai Showdown series. He looked so disturbing and his cannibalism gave us one of the worst finishing moves imaginable.
As a man who LOVES the friday the 13th series and Jason as a character, i adored how faithfully they adapted his moveset and him as a character! But the one thing you neglected to talk about was his projectile in slasher. His machete toss was remarkably fast, had great start up, EASILY built up meter and i might be mistaken but damn did it feel like it was faster than most in this game.
Can't help but notice that all three variations have something to do with health bars. In the read more I have provided examples. Slasher: Good luck dealing damage once he gets in Relentless: The lower his health is, the squishier you are. Unstoppable: Free healing and a revive that can be done more than once and can be cancelled.
I just yesterday started playing Jason for the first time and then this video comes out. All his variations have great combo potential and he's just so fun and satisfying to play.
Jason is so much of a good character for everyone, that even I, who am not too good at classic fighting games, could go far enough, in MKX online modes, and progress in the trophies. Although I also am decently good with Johnny Cage and Scorpion.
My favorite part of playing Online with Jason was activating Pursuit and watching the opponent mashing buttons and trying to get away from him Even if you couldn't see their faces or hear them it was clear that they were in complete panic
It's actually really easy to dodge, lol the worst oart for me is the infinite armor, armor breaking buff (literally nullified all armor), and the stupid damage buff he gets as his life declines. I think his enhanced command grab when he has less than 15% health does roughly 30%. For a command grab, that's fucking asinine
Fighting against Jason be like "Dang i got choked" "Once again im choked" "My neck is now struggling to retrieve oxygen" "And now he brutaled me with the choke just great"
When he was showing the combos, I thought “damn this is crazy, I wonder what changes they made to nerf this guy” But when he said “they did nerf him but he is still a monster” So that’s post nerf version…
Man. When I just started playing the game (My first ever mk game, he played Mk 11), my friend tormented me with this character. He did the same 2-3 combo strings that did 20-30% as slasher. While I was just trying to learn Cyrax and the basic fundamentals of the game, now it's usually 50/50 on who wins but man that character got on my nerves.
you may have noticed already and it might already be common knowledge but killing machine actually won’t interrupt a combo you started so if you could keep it going long enough you couldn’t get punished when jason falls asleep
If you jump backwards and there’s enough space behind you, you can get away from his X-ray though it’s a little difficult to pull off because you kind of have to start jumping before he X-rays
I can also say something broken about his thing. One time when playing with my cousin. He was playing as Scorpion and I was playing as Jason. I activated my X-ray like 3 seconds before he did and when we collided I grabbed him and got the win even though he was flying towards me as a fireball.
Before relentless was nerfed the damage from losing health carried over so if he went down to the wire in a match the damage was unreal good nerf I was mad but it had to be done.

One thing to note, you can completely negate the killing machine super armor sleep by literally just using a stage mobility based interactable right before it runs out, meaning there’s no downside if you get a combo because of the armor, and then ended it with wall jumping to reset neutral for free.

I wish you went into MORE detail!!! I mained relentless from 2016 and still take him out for a spin sometimes. Relentless can stack both the armor AND pursuit to completely guarantee a victory. the b3 into grab can also be switched into b3 launcher IN case people try to njp to escape. b2 was a decent anti air that could launch but on block can be switched into tight squeeze. In case opponents caught on and tried to jump you could do b2 choke and now they get caught jumping. It gets worse still! Back breaker WILL connect on a blocked down 1. If you pressure someone with d1 back breaker it will land. If they start jumping out of your d1 you can do d1 choke and now they’re hit by choke.
Mind you b121 b121 b2 pursuit was a good way to drop the opponent off a combo and now they’re panicking while you can approach them.
But if their health is low you end with armor instead, THEN PURSUIT as they try to hit you and their hits bounce off. You turn on pursuit and finish them off instantly.
Lastly… take relentless jason for a spin and bring hp down to

The scariest character in a fighting game is Youkai Kusaregedo from the Samurai Showdown series. He looked so disturbing and his cannibalism gave us one of the worst finishing moves imaginable.

As a man who LOVES the friday the 13th series and Jason as a character, i adored how faithfully they adapted his moveset and him as a character! But the one thing you neglected to talk about was his projectile in slasher. His machete toss was remarkably fast, had great start up, EASILY built up meter and i might be mistaken but damn did it feel like it was faster than most in this game.
Lol I remember seeing Sonicfox use Jason and the thought of him being able to come back to life was a nightmare.

Can't help but notice that all three variations have something to do with health bars. In the read more I have provided examples.
Slasher: Good luck dealing damage once he gets in
Relentless: The lower his health is, the squishier you are.
Unstoppable: Free healing and a revive that can be done more than once and can be cancelled.
His healing also restores his meter if you don't amplify it

What I'm hearing is they made him lore accurate
I just yesterday started playing Jason for the first time and then this video comes out. All his variations have great combo potential and he's just so fun and satisfying to play.
Jason is so much of a good character for everyone, that even I, who am not too good at classic fighting games, could go far enough, in MKX online modes, and progress in the trophies.
Although I also am decently good with Johnny Cage and Scorpion.
My favorite part of playing Online with Jason was activating Pursuit and watching the opponent mashing buttons and trying to get away from him
Even if you couldn't see their faces or hear them it was clear that they were in complete panic

It's actually really easy to dodge, lol the worst oart for me is the infinite armor, armor breaking buff (literally nullified all armor), and the stupid damage buff he gets as his life declines. I think his enhanced command grab when he has less than 15% health does roughly 30%. For a command grab, that's fucking asinine

I tried back X down back forward, it's really hard.
Jason was my main in MKX, and playing with Relentless was A LOT of fun!
When he was showing the combos, I thought “damn this is crazy, I wonder what changes they made to nerf this guy”
But when he said “they did nerf him but he is still a monster”

Man. When I just started playing the game (My first ever mk game, he played Mk 11), my friend tormented me with this character. He did the same 2-3 combo strings that did 20-30% as slasher. While I was just trying to learn Cyrax and the basic fundamentals of the game, now it's usually 50/50 on who wins but man that character got on my nerves.
They put in so much time in Jason they made so much fun and he can be almost impossible to retaliate

you may have noticed already and it might already be common knowledge but killing machine actually won’t interrupt a combo you started so if you could keep it going long enough you couldn’t get punished when jason falls asleep

If you jump backwards and there’s enough space behind you, you can get away from his X-ray though it’s a little difficult to pull off because you kind of have to start jumping before he X-rays
I can also say something broken about his thing. One time when playing with my cousin. He was playing as Scorpion and I was playing as Jason. I activated my X-ray like 3 seconds before he did and when we collided I grabbed him and got the win even though he was flying towards me as a fireball.

Before relentless was nerfed the damage from losing health carried over so if he went down to the wire in a match the damage was unreal good nerf I was mad but it had to be done.
