Yeah, it's pretty obvious that they did not made them full fledged cybrorgs like before for a reason. They need to force on the screen and display that gender change of characters on every opportunity, which makes it look petty.

It seems weird because we all know that smoke is his romantic partner since the original timeline, that's why he took revenge against lin kuei for cyberizing him. Jokes aside, unless you count sareena from mk mythologies as a partner, bi-han's romantic life has never been a plot point in mk.
3:28 for a game that shows horrific and gruesome ways for people to die… it must’ve been really really bad if the game cut to black rather than showing us the messy details.
Over the years, Mortal Kombat has gone from a game with a violent and visceral style with an imperial Chinese aesthetic, to a children's Power Ranger style.
I think Bi-han can break the cycle of turning into Noob Saibot, but only by the intervention of others. Remove Sektor, and the sorcerers as influences and let him bond closer with Kuai or Tomas and he should at least stay to his destiny of defending Earthrealm. I'm just saying this based off Sub-Zero's old MK11 ending and Liu Kang said it could take years to restore Bi-Han. But who knows I'm enjoying the direction with the story so far
I think Shao, Quan Chi and Shang Tsung remain as evil. Erron Black is a loose gun, so he is neutrally evil, Femktor and Noob Saibot, thou lovers, are enemies of the rest of the "good guys" cast, so they are evil in the sense that they will not allign with them. And well, obviously Havik is Havik, so that's another evil guy. I think those are 7 evil for the sake of being evil.
Only ones that stayed evil are Havik, Quan Chi, Sektor, Shang Tsung, Shao Khan, Reiko, and Noob Saibot. To be fair though, Reptile and Mileena needed a redemption arc though. Especially Reptile as too much disrespect was put on his name.

Sub Zero though is one of the worst characters in the game. Cyrax's capture foam is literally just a much better iceball.
Well Sub-Zero is now Noob so they'll have to replace him. My guess is either they make Frost the new Sub-Zero or Kuai Liang becomes Sub-Zero and they make Scorpion a woman.

@@nergal2741 The past is very ambiguous, since theres is like 3 or 4 timelines, but originally they were humans that were fully converted into cyborgs due to lin kuei's masters' cyber initiative, which wanted full capable warriors who wouldn't question orders and btw choosing whether to convert or not wasn't an option.
