    I’ve already done this in my Henry X 45-70, I wish this video was out then. You did a great step by step on installing it! Correction though, you can still utilize the tube load if you take the tube completely out and turn the rifle so the rim of the cartridge doesn’t get caught on the load lip area. It’s the first thing I tried after I installed the hand guard. Great video and top notch products from Ranger Point Precision!!!!

    Took me about 7 half sheets of 600 grit sand paper to get the tenon to very snuggly fit. Just so you have an estimate on what you will need how much to expect to go through.
    ALSO if you have the 357 model this guy does a video on how to take out the set screw for the mag tube.
    To install this on the 357 you will need to take out the mag tube and put it through the stock then insert the mag tube into its slot. You will have to hang the RP handguard off to the side while its still on the mag tub then while the mag tube is inserted you will have to set both tenons at the same time, hammering them in little by little 1 at a time until its lined up property on the barrel.
    I have no clue how he got that in by beveling the edge on the front tenon with the RP tenon already set that had to be a super loose fit or some serious hammering.
    This was not a fun install but doable lol

    • @crookedriverforge1889
      @crookedriverforge1889 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@joeallfrontsquiet8797 hey Joe, so first off when you remove the flat head screw from the bottom of the receiver to expose the allen key that holds the mag tube, you will find that there is no allen set screw on the .44….. and you cannot completely remove the mag tube without taking apart the receiver according to Henry, who I talked to on the phone…. So what I did was lift up the mag tube as much as I without causing any damage to it to get the tenion in. Then you can pretty much reinstall the front one again. Also the guard itself doesn’t go together anything like the 30/30 in this video, but it’s pretty easy to install from there. I spoke to this guy from wolf and he said he just uploaded the .44 video, but I couldn’t find it…. Good luck to you if you try it. 👊🏼

    On the 45 Long model all you need to do to remove the poly handguard is use two pair of needle nose plyers. Stick the tips into the rectangle cut outs on each side towards the front, gently pry the polymer apart just enough to slide the front past the magazine tube end. It is a tricky process being careful not to crack the poly or scratch the barrel but it was possible with zero damage. I used JB weld to hold the screw mount in place to eliminate the back an forth or side to side sliding that occurs in the dovetailed joint.

  • @d3vArms

    I got mine on last night, but I wish I would have paid someone to do it.
    I have the 357 which hides the second set screw under the trigger guard plate, just some extra disassembly required.
    On my first attemp I only sanded the stainless steel part enough to beat it into place, This caused me issues when I tried to install the end cap for the mag tube holder. Trying to get the set screw hole lined up and hammer both dove tails into place at the same time proved impossible for me. The end cap for mag tube was rotating as I tried to tap it in. So I sanded the stainless steel part until it would easily go into the groove, I later realized that I actually sanded it to far. Now that I have it assembled the hand guard moves left and right and makes a click clack sound as the front end taps the mag tube. If I had known all of this before hand I would have paid someone who knew what they were doing to do it, and it would have been worth it.

      @matt538 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I slightly bent mine barely noticeable the seam came apart a little but I notice it when a stare at it awhile hopefully it dosent impede anything from functioning. Idk if it was from whacking it or trying to take it out after removing the screw. Only took 3 hits with a rubbber mallet but was a pain in the ass to get tube out. May of got too rough with it. I pulled it all apart ahead of time just waiting on the handguard to come in.

    Since I never got a reply from Wolf…. on what could go wrong I went ahead and did it myself. I would like to point out his instructions do not work for all X models! On my X model 45 colt there is NOT a grub screw (under the cover screw) that is holding the feed tube! You must take apart the trigger assembly.
