ARRIVING AT PARIS CHARLES DE GAULLE Airport Terminal 1 - Arrival Procedure, Baggage Reclaim & Taxi

- We are arriving at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport Terminal 1. We have just arrived at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG) on a flight from Copenhagen, Denmark (an EU country). In this Airport video Vlog the viewers follows us (Maxi and Maro) as we disembark our aircraft and make our way through Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG).
Viewers are given a POV real time view of what it is like to arrive at this airport as we make our way to the Baggage Reclaim area. As we are arriving in France from another European country we do not have to pass through Immigration /Passport Control (If you were arriving from a non-EU country you would automatically have to pass through Immigration / Passport Control. After following the airport arrival and Baggage Reclaim signs we quickly arrive at the Baggage Belts, where the luggage rather quickly begins to be uploaded. From this point we once again begin making our way towards the Charles de Gaulle Airport Terminal 1 Arrivals Area. Before exiting we pass through the Customs control. We pass through the green lane as we have nothing to declare. We then begin making our way to the Taxi Station as we have chosen to take a taxi into central Paris. Along the way we also pass the Airport Bus turn off, and see the Money Exchange Bureau close to the Car Hire / Car Rental agencies. There is even a Marks and Spencer Food Store for those who need a few snacks. Before we make our way to our taxi we show viewers the price of a taxi from Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG) Terminal 1 to the Paris City center.

A real fitness cession! Born in Paris, I have lived for several years in a country neighbouring France. Unless I have to take an Air France flight to France's overseas territories, I prefer to go to Paris by TGV. Just the idea of walking miles of corridors at CdG exhausts me already🤣
I just came back from Paris with my wife and this is the first time we have been there. Thank you very much for this video as it is thru this video that I have a much easier time to navigate our way from the moment we got off the plane till to the taxi stand. Much appreciated.

Arch Bala I’m going to Prague and have a layover at this airport
Adam Henry it was quite busy when I arrived in Paris since it is the 31st but it’s actually quite easy. This video was very helpful. I’ve also use a couple of apps like google maps and the genius citymapper which will also tell you which are strike safe. That is if you are actually planning to explore a bit during your layover.

That escalator in the glass-like tube was neat. I have never seen anything like that in any airport I've been to.

Hi Maxi & Maro. Enjoy your videos, they were quite helpful in Singapore and Malaysia. The passage at the 2:00 minute mark is very reminiscent of the TWA Flight Center at JFK Airport New York. The same style of tube connected the two piers with the central terminal. It's a landmark building which has been preserved and is being converted into a hotel. You should put that on your list. Of course, the most important thing is the architect - Eero Saarinen from Kirkkonummi, Finland. Enjoy Rive Gauche. Take your speed off.

Went through CDG just this morning and everything is true to the video, EXCEPT the massive congested influx of arrivals. Be prepared for that if you have a driver waiting! It seemed like several flights had come in at once.

When I arrived in from the US we came into a different terminal. I was super crowed, an had stores everywhere.
We would imagine that it would be a different Terminal as you are arriving from a Non-Schengen country and have to go through Immigration. Our flight was from a Schengen country. Best Regards.

Good thing you weren't trying to catch another flight. The slow movement on the people mover would have kept you from making any connecting flight you might have had. Hello! Why did you get a taxi? I never have been in that airport, but there is a CDGVAL to Terminal 2 and then a RER B train to Gare du Nord or don't know where were your hotel but like that would probably be easy. xDD
I have been at Orly airport, simple Orlyval to Anthony (depending, if you land into Orly Sud you would ride to Ouest then Anthony. Landed at Ouest, would direct you to Anthony and then RER B to Gare du Nord) I don't know if you remember.
My opinion is like that. :)
I love airports like jetways, departures/arrivals, connections like subway, trains, etc.

Do you Know if you need a transit visa at all is you do not leave the transit area and wait for your next flight? Would I have to go through immigration?
After got luggage and passed custom, is it in the same building to re-check in for another flight? I had two round trip tickets one is domestic in France, the other is international. And they ere purchased from two different airlines. Thanks.

This airport is easy to navigate but it is huge!!! We did have a bit of trouble getting to the train into Paris though!!

Great video. Thanks for showing terminal 1. What a lovely building. One question. Why where you rushing through the airport. It didn’t seem like you needed to get somewhere quickly, but so rushed. You where just about running.

We want to show every step of the way from the disembarkation of the aircraft to the arrival area. J'ai emprunté une fois le terminal 1, il y a plus de 20 ans (!). J'étais encore enfant. Depuis je pars chaque fois du terminal 2 (A,C, E ou F). Mon Dieu, quelle horreur, ce "Camembert", comme on l'appelle ! Votre vidéo décrit très bien cette sensation de faire plusieurs fois le tour du terminal pour arriver à un point précis.

I borrowed Terminal 1 once, more than 20 years ago (!). I was still a child. Since I take off each time from Terminal 2 (A, C, E or F). O my God !, what horror, this "Camembert", as it's called! Your video describes very well the sensation of going around the terminal several times to reach a specific point.

Do the double doors @ 1:45 actually have a function security wise? Just when you said you thought it was a security area. I wouldn't have thought there'd be a check there arriving off a Schengen flight. My thinking is that the doors are to ensure departing passengers can't get through that way.

In my humble opinion, a claustrophobic couple of tunnels and moving walkways from the gate to this Terminal 1. Sorry to mention this, but I was wondering if there was an incident, for example, fire and smoke with these corridors packed with people...

You probably came into Terminal 2 which handles the bulk of the flights now at Roissy-Charles de Gualle. This is the older Terminal 1 which was the original building back when CDG opened in the 1970s
Allmost all terminals in CDG are International terminals this 1 included the only ones that don't serve the international are terminal 2F, 2G, and I would say terminal 3 but you can depart to Canada with Air Transat from terminal 3
And this terminal where they arrived (Terminal 1) operates compagnies like Singapore Airlines Thai Airways Qatar Airways TAM airlines/LATAM Asiana Airlines, United Airlines, All Nippon Airways, China Airlines and many more, and used to operates U.S. Airways

Hello, did you make it on time? i have a flight in month and my beetween flights I have 2 hours to go , is it enough in this airport?
@@CvitD plenty of time, you only check in your main luggage once at the first flight, from then on they handle it all so you are ready to pick up after you land on your final flight. It's easy to navigate to where you want to go and there's lots of staff about incase you get lost.
