For all the incredible things Pedro did for Boston from 98-04, this was his magnum opus. He didn't have prime Pedro stuff at that point, but he was still good enough to hold it down. Pedro is always welcome anywhere in Massachusetts, he's a legend.
@@greatestnitemare6626 Pedros fastball was basically around 94 mph after the 2001 injury. Before the injury, he could get it up to 97 mph Yes, Pedro still had elite pitching repertoire after 2001. But my comment above was about his fastball velocity which made him one of the best of all time above all others in combination with his breaking pitches. Pedro 2002-2005 was amazing, but not as sensational as 1997-2001 Pedro (before his injury in 2001)
For all of Manny's goofy plays, that throw in the bottom of the 1st inning was an absolute bullet and perfectly on target. It also saved the Sox from what could've been a disastrous inning.
9:26: 1-0 Boston 26:43: End of the 1st Inning. 49:23: Suppan's mistake 1:17:54: 4-0 Red Sox lead. 1:26:45: Martinez walks to 1st. 2:14:42: Larry Walker HR.
Cardinals almost got shut-out in both games 3 and game 4 (given, butterfly effect) had it not been for the Larry Walker home run. Cards got shut-out 3 times this 2004 postseason in 15 games that they played. (game 4 Dodgers, game 5 Astros, game 4 RSOX). Unreal, since they had a sensational offense in 2004.
Pedro blazing past these steroid freaks with 89-91 MPH fastballs. And now everyone’s throwing 95+. But the radar guns aren’t juiced today…. Riiiiighht 🤦♂️
No but they either have the kids on juice b4 they get to the show or start training thembyounger and younger . Theres just more talent now with all the international players
It's amazing to think about it, but that third inning where Suppan goofed was the last challenge the Cardinals put up in the Series. Once that went by the boards, they had nothing.
49:23 that's why it's important you really understand the game, not just play your position and collect your paycheck...jesus. And now with a universal DH I guess it doesn't matter. They really need to make a lot of changes in the MLB, and that wasn't one of them.
Supposedly, third base coach Jose Oquendo was screaming at Suppan "GO, GO, GO!!!" and Suppan, an inexperienced baserunner, thought he was saying "NO, NO, NO!!!" and froze on the basepath.

My best friend's aggressively Italian American father said Pedro was "TROWIN' FIGH YABALLS!"
Pedro never had "Prime Pedro stuff" ever since he injured his shoulder in the middle of the 2001 season.
@@hmhm856 Did you not see Pedro's numbers in 02 or 03? Peon.

Pedro and Manny and Fisk will always be my favorite Red Sox and MLB baseball players ❤

Jim Edmonds is one of the best center fielders Ive ever seen like as a fielder , and he’s not a bad batter either
Woulda got in the HOF w 1 more season. 393 homers. 1199 rbis. 998 walks.
@@zachshaw951 dam vro that’s crazy , Jim Edmonds is amazing man thank you for the stats❗️I’m about to watch some of his highlights & reflect ⚾️

It's all technique. My son is 15 throwing 89 mph right now and that's all because of a personal pitching coach I hired. He's 5"11 170

They all stood up for strike 3 in the 1st inning & instead got a Manny Homerun 😂😂😂😂😂
1:55:20 wtf was that all about?
Idk you tell me! That guy is a mlb player or something?

Watching the replay, I can see why he stopped. That ball got to Bellhorn very quickly.
