How clutch was Mark Bellhorn for these Red Sox. And all 3 big hits/6runs all came with 2 outs
The JD Drew Grand Slam and Curt Schilling pitching like Greg Maddox are what stick out to me about this game.
RIP Wake. ❤ to hear his Post Game Interview!
29:22 What an underrated grand slam!
I think that lineup is better with ellsbury at 1 or 2 with his speed and obp. And youkalis hitting 5th behind manny instead of jd drew , drew 6 varitek 7
2:10:45 Pulling out that chant while down 7 runs. Never change, Yankees fans.
Never realized Yankee fans did their own reenactments of Bottlegate after the correct call was made on the glove slap. God forbid the rules apply to them too.
It wasn’t because of Judge. It was because Devers hit it so hard by the time he was at first judge was already there. 🙄 ESPN. Tbs. All Yankee lovers
2:18:20 - that came up about 5 feet short from a game-tying 3 run HR - had it been hit to any other part of Fenway it probably would have been
0:11 loved this music back then!
1:27:12 death by paper cuts
Tim Mccarver hated Manny because he hated what he represented, he was the new ball player that didn’t always play the game the right way, and yes he was in home run trot mode on that play, however he still got that huge hit and got an rbi out of it, Manny got paid the massive contracts he got because he was an incredible hitter, not for his defense or base running or general baseball iq, he worked his ass off at perfecting his hitting ability and hit so many home runs. The Sox do not win in 2004 and 2007 or get to game 7 of 2003 ALCS without him, he was a special player. I think Tim almost harbored some jealousy and lack of understanding as to how someone could be so lackadaisical at times, but truly gifted and hard working at other moments
Thank you for uploading. You're a gem.
21:57 HR David Ortiz
i remember how in most fox games from 2007-2008 they had players and coaches announce the lineup on fox. idk why they did away with that lol
I love hearing the Won't Get Fooled Again synth solo during the lineup intro
Papelbon’s K of Hafner in the 8th was like Rick Vaughn striking out Haywood.
“Champagne tastes just as good on the road” I believe was the quote after this game from some clown on the Indians…guess what happened?😂😂😂
Joe and Tim just loved to hate on Manny lol. Silly boomers 😅
2:44:01 Ortiz solo HR 2:59:43 not a crazy, albeit important, sac fly by Tek 5:01:13 Papi's winning hit
Everyone asleep
No Jello never eat anything of a color other than 🖤
I remember that like was yesterday
Terrific “ Red Sox “ Pitcher Congratulations
Whenever CC Sabathia goes on his monthly rant about Boston and how everyone is terrible and racist, remember games like this. This is where his salt came from.
Yea I never liked that Chucky Cheese Sabathia fat guy but he's no longer fat and is in great shape but yea. Hey he finally got his 1st and only W.S. ring wit the yanks in 09. And he had to endure seeing the Sox win 2 W.S. lol
Joe Suck and his pinhead cohort obviously had money on the Tribe....I'm glad the commentators lost. 😊 Nice homer Manny👍
1:14:26 FUUUCK”” that’s what is means … you’re welcome ✌🏾
May he RIP, but Tim McCarver was the biggest Manny Ramirez hater of all time... It's not just this game.
It's true.
Not just Manny, Sox hater in general. Guy was so annoying.
Manny Roidmirez was a douche so it was rightfully deserved
@@deployeddadtv699I know I was so glad when the Sox sweept his Cardinals in the 04 W.S. and then the Sox beat his Cardinals again!! In his final year in the broadcast both back in 2013 lol Tim McCarver was a legend though.
Oilers aint sh*t
that's E-OR Eovaldi!
i have Curts Game jersey
Hats off to Curt Schilling who pitched with his heart for this game!!
Its great watching that real fans of the Yankees stay at the stadium and the noisy clowns left. You’ll never ever going to see that kind of fans in Boston. Go Sox!!!
Game 1....very exciting!! 😊😊
Castiglione and Trupiano were a great tandem, classic baseball sound.
Pedro and Manny and Fisk will always be my favorite Red Sox and MLB baseball players ❤
For all of Manny's goofy plays, that throw in the bottom of the 1st inning was an absolute bullet and perfectly on target. It also saved the Sox from what could've been a disastrous inning.
Most underachieving clippers whe team. Pj kool 😂
Without a doubt, Josh Beckett was the difference in this ALCS going 2-0 against C.C. Sabathia. Beckett also beat Sabathia in Game 1 at Fenway Park.
Kenny Lofton at dh 🤣🤣
It's amazing to think about it, but that third inning where Suppan goofed was the last challenge the Cardinals put up in the Series. Once that went by the boards, they had nothing.
No Gibson this time . Without Gibson Sox would have won in 1967 JERK.
RIP Wake :(
Bellhorn was huge in those playoffs
Came here after the passing of Tim Wakefield. RIP #49.
He watching on the day Tim Wakefield passed. RIP, Wake.
Beckett was as cool as a cucumber during this game and the following World series!!!
2007 Josh Beckett may be the most dominant single season I've ever seen from a starting pitcher. He was throwing a 101 MPH 4 seam, a 98 MPH 2 seam, 92 MPH change up and a 12 - 6. All of which were filthy and most of which were thrown for quality strikes.
lol? Pedro Martinez was SUPERIOR. 99-01. You have no clue what you’re talking about
@brianbelden2449 lol Josh beckett never threw 101 MPH fastball his fastball then barley reached 97mph lol
How can anyone, especially what im assuming is a RSOX fan, put Beckett's 2007 season as more dominating than Pedro's 1999 and 2000 seasons with the RSOX, or Clemens 1986 and 1990 seasons with the RSOX, or Schilling 2004 season with the RSOX. Now, if you never saw any of those five seasons between Pedro and Clemens and Schilling in person, and you only saw Beckett's 2007 season in person, then fine. I guess Beckett's 2007 season is the greatest season by a RSOX starting pitcher post-2004 With that said, I never remembered Beckett throwing 100+ at any point in his career (Marlins, RSOX). 97 MPH was the hardest I ever saw him throwing in the 2000s
@@greatestnitemare6626 somebody put together a metric, even like one of those in-depth mathematical formula things in 1999 and it said that Pedro Martinez had the third best season for a major league pitcher/player of all time. He had the statistically best season of any picture plus he was absolutely clutch coming in and despite his injury, threw a six inning no-hit shutout in relief when the game got out of hand. Also, I just looked up a fun fact about how dominating Pedro Martinez was in 1999: at one point during the season he threw a strike out in 40 consecutive innings a major league record. He had the best pitching season ever, especially during the steroid era in the American League with the DH and he basically made everyone look stupid. PS: obviously other Red Sox players throughout the years have had great seasons and dominating pitching performances, and I think some people put them above Pedro in ‘99 because of the fact that Curt in 04 & Josh in 07 won 21 & 20 games respectively plus won World Series championships.
That may be so. But the two back-to-back seasons by Rodger Clemens going 24 and 4 2 years in a row. He was just awesome and unhittable!
Never liked Lofton. He’s fast and has defense- that’s it. Rare HR here and there, but a good example of him being a thug
thanks for these. do you have game 4?
