We lifted off from La Plata in a trusty Cessna 150, bound for the coastal city of Mar del Plata. The journey was anything but smooth, with fierce headwinds challenging us both there and back. Landing on runway 31 felt like a victory, despite the wind’s persistence. After refueling and grabbing lunch, we prepared for the return flight. This leg brought a new learning experience-carburetor ice, something I had never encountered before. With the high humidity in the air, we flew back with carb heat engaged the entire way. It was a productive journey, offering a firsthand lesson in ice formation, and with our controlled VFR filed, we completed the round-trip, pushing through the elements to make it back to La Plata.
