My personal Top 10 Most Wanted for Star Trek: Into the Unknown: 1) Akira-class 2) Jem-Hadar Battleship 3) Romulan D'Deridex-type Warbird 4) Klingon Negh-var-class 5) Breen Warship 6) Prometheus-class 7) Sovereign-class 8) Steamrunner-class 9) A) Klingon B'rell and B) K'Vort-class Bird-of-Prey (Identical appearance but huge size difference) 10) Romulan Valdore-class Honorable Mentions: Cardassian Galor and Keldon-class Warships, Excelsior-class, Saber-class, Miranda-class, Nebula-class
I think that'll be possible. It looks like you will have some flexibility on who you put where. But if Christopher Hobson is also his first officer - I bet there's gonna be a fight!
I've been really looking forward for this game to come out! I can't imagine the game NOT eventually putting out a model for each "hero" ship (Cerritos, Voyager, Titan, EVERY Enterprise). If they put out an Odyssey-class, I'm buying 3 because I love that design that much. I've already decided that I'm not going to collect every faction, I'm absolutely going full in on Federation, Klingon, and Romulan ships.
I want an entire The Motion Picture Era wave with the Constitution Class refit the Miranda the classic medical ships. It's just the best era for ships.
WK is showing this game at $149.99 MSRP! The ship pictures on their website seem pretty nice, but will have to wait for a sale. The ToS Romulan Warbird would be a nice model.
They really need a good mix of “adversary” ships so this game doesn’t just turn into some weird Federation civil war for 90% of the games you play at the local store. I hope they keep the releases pretty balanced between the factions. Main ships for Cardassian, Klingon, Romulan first before all the more ancillary Federation ships please!
A lot of the ships that are primarily science or exploritory vessels are likely to show up as from what ive seen on the rules you get punished for at least starting combat. I really REALLY want to see an Akira class, I adore that ship! As for non-federation I want to see a whole fleet of Cardassian ships. Keldon & the Hedeki classes too. Garak HAS to be included lol. Not too fussed about any other species other than Dominion, Federation & Cardassian. Though I'd LOVE to see as accurate as possiblely scaled Borg.
Of course it was gonna be the romulan, they are gorgeous beasts. Now being honest, i'll be waiting for your "5 klingon warbirds" list because that is entirely your jam and it sounds crazy fun.
I'd like to see 2-3 of the Wolf 359 ships show up as boosters or whatever the single ship expansions will be. The New Orleans class is a favorite of many, but maybe ships like The Freedom, Challenger, Cheyenne and Springfield classes could get releases too. I think it would be neat if they did some privateer/smuggler/pirate type ships too, as we know they exist in the Trek universe.
I would love to see ambassador. Yesterday’s enterprise is one of my favorite episodes and the first time I saw the C I was in love. I would also like to see the California class, would be neat if the played into the color scheme specialization and have different titles per color that change its load-out or mission specialization.
I’m still intimidated by running multiple ships in this game, but I really like the Trek-like mission play and complications combined with attention to specific ship systems. As for what I’m excited for, you’ve got to have the Klingon Bird of Prey. Have you ever considered that the future Enterprise could be prime universe for an Admiral Riker after PIC s3?
When they get through the Dominion War releases, I would like to see some TOS content. Gorn Raiders, Klingon D7s of course, but most especially the OG Constitution class and Romulan BoP with the bird painted on it (basically a space muscle car)!
I guessed Romulan Warbird! For the rest of your list, while without really understanding the game mechanics as of yet, it makes sense to me to have many "objective" ships that aren't out to blow things up but complete science tasks, so the Oberth and Intrepid definitely work for that. (Honestly, most of Starfleet should since it's not about blowing stuff up like the Klingons would be). My list of a few: I wanna see the Klingon Bird of Prey. Excelsior for sure. And if they let us jump around through time: The D-7 Constitution NX Be'ToQ (22nd century Klingon Bird of Prey)
I see the Nebula in the role of Frigate to the Galaxy class' Ship of the Line, to use a nautical comparison. If we get Kilingons then the Bird of Prey and Vor'cha class Cruiser are the most likely. It'd be great to see some of the more unusual or infrequently seen ships, the Vulcan D'kyr for example.
I expect to be inundated with every Federation ship ever seen on screen, I am hoping for some of the smaller alien species/empires to show up - The Gorn from Strange New Worlds, the Tholians, and countless other ‘one off’ encounter aliens.
I want to all different Era ships. I'd love to even see a DS9 model and even engage The Borg like they did in First Contact. And in Attack Wing we have both a DS9 model and a large Borg Cube with a sphere that launches from it. I'd love to see your number 9. I want some ships that we never got in Attack Wing, like enterprise-C Ambassador class. I also want some other races, some Andorians, Vulcan, Bajorans, and also Steamrunner and Norway Classes but an Akira Class. I love the The USS Thunderchild. So there are a ton of others. Species 8472, Horgian Hunters, The Doomsday Machine, I'd love to see TOS Era ships, and even NX-01 Enterprise Era. I mean there is a ton that I would love to see show up in this game. I'm excited for it. I've typed long enough. So, thank you so much for keeping the videos alive on this game.
I'm mainly concerned about a balance between federation ships and opposing empire ships. It might be too easy to have a dozen federation models, versus a warbird and a D7...
Since the game is in the TNG era (and should stay there IMO) most of mine are from Lower Decks. 1) California Class 2) Cheyenne Class 3) Luna Class 4) V'rek's Ship i.e. the Romulan Cruiser from Lower Decks S4 that's probably Oberth sized 5) Pakled Clumpship (Possibly too big?) 6) Ferengi ships (Lower Decks introduced another one).
I'd love to see ships from every faction in every time from the NX-01 to the NCC-1701G so you can play campaigns starting in one time and a progression to the most advanced minus the discovery seasons 3-5.
Lower Decks, Lower Decks!! I'm glad I'm not the only one that wants to have a California Class ship. The other ship I would like to see is the Titan with hopefully Captain Shaw. Do you think the scale is too big for a borg cube or a DS9 station in the future?
I would love to see the D'Deridex - it's #1 on my list too! As for the Scimitar, it took everything the Enterprise-E could throw at it plus two Valdore class warbirds, and it still would've come out on top if not for some personal heroics and sacrifice. It's probably too overpowered in the same way as the "All good things" future Enterprise-D. I really just don't want to see this game stuck as Dominion vs Federation for really any length of time. I want to see Klingons, Romulans, and Cardassians at launch with plans for more factions. The most concerning thing for me about this game is what I've heard about WizKids' reputation for not supporting their games as much as is needed.
I am happy to see a starship game for startrek, I'll now have a resources to learn as much as i already know about starwars ships. Also: how has Ds9 not been mentioned much?
Yay, ENGAGING content. Can pass on the Voyager for sometime. Build out the bulk of the ships during the Dominion war first. I understand why it needs to be in the list though. Same goes for the other ships not featured in the war. Love me the Miranda class. Very RELIABLE class. (Agree with your #1)
Pausing, as requested: my guess (even before you gave the hint about it not being Federation) was that it was going to be the Romulan D'deridex-class warbird. You've mentioned Cardassians and Klingons, but not Romulans? Definitely have to have them as part of any top 10 list. As far as some of my top ships that weren't mentioned: Constitution Class (Refit and TOS versions, although the refit was my favorite) Miranda Class Romulan Bird of Prey (T'liss class) Klingon D7 (the Bird of Prey might beat it out in terms of being iconic at this point, but not by much.) Can you tell I'm hoping we'll get a lot of 23rd century (TOS/movies) expansions?
They should probably stick to the more iconic ships for now before going too far afield. I'm not liking their idea for multiple factions right out the gate, it seems way too ambitious. Armada had enough trouble going from two to four and that was what turned out to be very late in its production cycle. I was hoping the other major powers would all be part of the Dominion or Federation Alliance.
I think the problem Armada had with going 2 to 4 was vastly different. Part of that problem was because they waited TOO LONG to add the new factions. If they had done Clone Wars much earlier we'd have better balance now.
@Crabbok True, clone wars stuff does seem purposefully OP, some of the ship costs are absurdly low for how much they do, and that probably had to happen since they have so much less diversity of options which indeed could have been rectified by concurrent waves of everything. I still think so many factions could be a mistake that's a lot to try and balance. I Also, despite loving Armada I'm actually not a big Star Wars guy, I like it it but it's not my passion, I realize though I'm in the minority amongst Armada players in that regard. In the immediate least they're gonna need the trekkies for this to succeed and things like independent Bajoran factions completely goes against the lore as they would get stomped by everyone else. The Cardassians as well would have trouble holding their own against the other powers, in a one one one fight at least their ships ought to nearly always lose against another factions. Casual players won't mind but studf like that matters to trekkies. They risk alienating their go-to player base.
My hope at least is that unlike Armada you can run ships of different factions together within an agreed upon framework e.g can't run Federation and Dominion ships together or Bajoran with Cardassian.
I know it is a next gen set (or so it seems) but my favorite ship has always been the NX-2000 Excelsior. She is a beautiful ship! But funny enough I hate the B, I think it took something beautiful and put a car spoiler on it. You and I seem to be opposite sides of this coin.
I'll be honest, I'm a bit concerned about Into The Unknown. The winds seem to be blowing against it some. There seems to be some sort of strong internal division within Wizkids, as of this month, Alex Davy is no longer employed by the company. There's also a renewed focus on Star Trek Attack Wing, which is kinda good in that Star Trek Alliance is a truly amazing game experience andlike, I own enough Attack Wing that I'm happy to see it still going. Yet, and maybe I'm reading too much into it, things seem to sound messy and factional enough within the company itself that I'm not sure how it's going to turn out.
Had no idea what you were gonna pick but as it happens it's the one I most wanted to see too, what a great looking vessel. While playing Star Trek Online I really enjoyed getting all the various ships but the one I wanted most and I doubt we'll ever see it in this game due to the scale, is the Yellowstone Runabout... dunno why really, something just appeals about that little ship, if I lived in that universe I'd want it as my personal ship.
My personal Top 10 Most Wanted for Star Trek: Into the Unknown:
1) Akira-class
2) Jem-Hadar Battleship
3) Romulan D'Deridex-type Warbird
4) Klingon Negh-var-class
5) Breen Warship
6) Prometheus-class
7) Sovereign-class
8) Steamrunner-class
9) A) Klingon B'rell and B) K'Vort-class Bird-of-Prey (Identical appearance but huge size difference)
10) Romulan Valdore-class
Honorable Mentions: Cardassian Galor and Keldon-class Warships, Excelsior-class, Saber-class, Miranda-class, Nebula-class
I'm looking forward to seeing a Sutherland ship. Would be cool if they allowed Data to captain it as well.
I think that'll be possible. It looks like you will have some flexibility on who you put where. But if Christopher Hobson is also his first officer - I bet there's gonna be a fight!
I'd love to see the Valdore and the Odyssey class introduced into the game.
I'm hoping for the Steamrunner and Akira class.

My favorite is still the Constitution Class Refit (Movie Enterprise).
I'd love to see a few TOS era ships and crew.
I want an entire The Motion Picture Era wave with the Constitution Class refit the Miranda the classic medical ships. It's just the best era for ships.
Yes please
WK is showing this game at $149.99 MSRP!
The ship pictures on their website seem pretty nice, but will have to wait for a sale.
The ToS Romulan Warbird would be a nice model.
Hundred percent agree with you! All of these are exciting and I can’t wait to play! Keep up the great work!😃

Thank you for the chance in the giveaway! It's awesome how you have them constantly going on

There are MANY Voyager fans out there. I think it may be a ship that comes out for sure.
Excelsior class is just an elegant and beautiful ship. I hope they get to it.
I expect to be inundated with every Federation ship ever seen on screen, I am hoping for some of the smaller alien species/empires to show up - The Gorn from Strange New Worlds, the Tholians, and countless other ‘one off’ encounter aliens.
Looks like a fun game. I'd definitely play the Romulans if the Warbird shows up
The constitution class(es), Miranda and Excelsior are top on this list as well. Perhaps the first on the list for the TOS/TMP era!
I want to all different Era ships. I'd love to even see a DS9 model and even engage The Borg like they did in First Contact. I can’t wait for the call from my LGS that my copy has arrived!
I'm really hoping we get a Borg Cube and Sphere. I love them so much
I would LOVE the Cerritos!!!!
I love Lower Decks so so much!!! It’s one of my fave series !
Can't wait to give this game a try
I'm mainly concerned about a balance between federation ships and opposing empire ships. It might be too easy to have a dozen federation models, versus a warbird and a D7...

the uual Bird of Prey will be good but love strange ones like the Romulin drone ship or the Tholians

No, you're wrong.

how can a ship go warp 13 when 10 is the theoretical limit.
Cool 🖖

I think due to the scale they are gonna do shuttle craft as tokens or an ability card.
I play STO on and off and I agree with you, I'll take the Yellowstone any day, even over the Delta Flyer and I couldn't put into words why.
