  • Hi all this video was requested by one of our subscribers that goes by the name of ‪@mysterychemical‬
we look at the RTX 2060 and the Intel Arc A380 on there own in DaVinci Resolve, an then we use them both together, and we show the usage of each using HWINFO64 and the windows Task Manager.

Thanks for the videos, very useful and well made! Weird to say Intel gpus are currently better than their CPUs 😂

Thanks for taking the time to comment, I'm glad you are enjoying the videos.
We are completely AMD cpu's here, but I have been keeping up with intel cpu issues, and it looks like they are at least trying to get on top of things now, so that's great news.
I am really looking forward to seeing what intels next gen GPU's are going perform like, I was very tempted by the a770, but will wait now till the new gen comes out.

@@graynoone as a system builder, there is nothing better than informed hands on customer experience to make sure i can give the best advice to my clients
i actually sold a lot of i7 11700 and later i5 12500 + Tesla M40 system during the mining craze / pandemic CPU price spike, and they have been extremely well received, many clients reported that they had far better performance than machines that costed 3 times as much, probably because they used X299 or AMD sytems with worst encoders/decoders support on the dGpu from Premiere Pro compared to the latest intel iGpu

Thanks for the update. From this video I came to some conclusions.
A380 seems to be slower than RTX 2060 on AVC by a little margin while on HEVC on huge margin and seems same on AV1 as well (if compared to ARC itself). I would like to see A380 doing both decoding and encoding or used as standalone card while doing AV1 rendering. I use Premiere Pro so correct me if I am wrong on how Resolve uses GPU, currently AV1 does seems to be rendered with similar time as HEVC on RTX 2060 but during AV1 encoding RTX is used as HEVC video decoding GPU and Arc is used as encoding to AV1.
Despite Arc being a bit slower it is using lesser power as well which makes it comparable power usage to RTX card if had similar performance.
I think if Arc is used standalone both HEVC and AV1 render time on it would be same. Also I have question regarding the timeline footage used. It says 20Mbps HEVC video on clip name but Sequence name is 4k 60fps 25Mbps also at the same time Sequence itself is 30fps.

Yes I made a mistake there
The project name is incorrect, in my haste to get the video done I forgot to change the project name, the footage is as stated on the timeline 20000kbs
As I said in the video, I think the problems I had with the intel card are specific to my setup, but, regardless of the visual issues the card still managed to render the video, but for me the combination of both cards is perfect, especially considering the file size and reader quality.
