Protip, don't remove your visor until all the slag is removed from the weld, stainless shrinks fast as the weld cools and it can cause the slag to pop off, you'll learn the hard way when some pops off and sticks to your eyelid x.x

@SebastianRoss-Guarino I've had it arc over my protective glasses and stick on my temple or shoot and stick on my lip. That one hurt. I definitely keep my hood down, now

Graduated from trade school in spring. I’m currently mig welding at work. I really miss stick welding. I kind of hate argon cause you have to work in a hot sawna condition
ideally you should use a dedicated stainless brush. a regular steel brush may contaminate the stainless and start rusting. for the purpose of this demo video, it doesnt matter

Is welding stainless stick the same as regular carbon? No special gas?
The Flux on the rod generates the necessary gas composition.
That’s the best thing about stick welding.

For those who think this is such a great weld… try stainless rods… easiest weld to do in all of welding!

Anyone else have problems with your automatic darkening lens not working? Takes a second to darken and then shuting off mid weld? I changed batteries.
