If you're a judge and you see someone with tattoos all over his face and crazy outfit and was accused of murdering someone you'll think it makes sense just because he looks like a thug. Thats the reason we should wear appropriately so the judge and lawyers won't judge you based on your appearance alone.

@@Ariel-my7lh The you have NO with business being a judge or even someone in the jury.
It's your job to analyze FACTS and make decisions based on what evidence that's been presented to you.
But I do thank you, you've just proven how the justice system is complete bullocks for certain minoroties, that will certainly be seen as "thugs/ceiminals" to the all Caucasian juries. Which is why they have a much higher conviction rate. And before someone tries to deny any of that, it's been PROVEN in studies.
      The justice system is flawed.

Cloths show respect and make you look serious. Of course a judge would be biased to the guy with nice clothing and actually loooks like he cares about the case

    • @dustinmaxwell259
      @dustinmaxwell259 ปีที่แล้ว

@@hibye4469 Sure...right. Add America's history of racial bias into the mix and is it really ANY wonder why certain minorties tend to get wrongfully convicted, and wind up getting far worse sentences than their Caucasian counterparts?
Hell, those minorities are "guilty" as soon they enter the courtroom. Savvy prosecutors have practically admitted to stacking the jury with all Caucasin members, because they KNOW said jury is far more likely to convict said individual.
As I said, the justice system is _seriously flawed_ . But I'm just some "SJW" that will undoubtedly be ignored.

I have a mental disability that affects me in a lot of ways, but a few of them directly conflict with this, and if I were in court I guess I'm fucked because of my disability?
    - I literally cannot wear constricting clothing (Suits, ties especially) on account of it feeling like I'm suffocating and destroys my ability to focus on anything.
    - I have particularly long hair that is somewhat difficult to maintain. Again on account of my disability cutting it is not an option, and whilst I do try my best to keep it washed, brushed, etc., mildly frizzy hair runs in my family and it will *not* straighten.
    - I have issues with my attention and am incapable of paying attention to something for a prolonged amount of time. I'll take in the words and understand what's being told to me, but my eyes (and attention) will wander frequently. This is not something I can control.
    - I stim a lot (this is when someone performs an action that stimulates a part of themselves, typically whenever you see someone with autism flapping their hand or even just tapping their foot, that's what it is.) I *can* force myself to stop, but doing so causes extreme distress and will make everything much worse.
    - I have auditory issues. My ears are physically fine, but my attention is split whenever I hear multiple noises at the same time and it causes me extreme distress.
On account of all of these issues (and more) caused by my disability, I imagine I have no chance in court.
Essentially what this shows is that the US Legal System is horrendus, working off of archaic principles rather than the actual written law. Judges will take things personally and act petty at wrongly percieved sleights.
If I understand this correctly, my disability will piss off a judge, and they will be bias against me as a result.
The fact anyone can defend that system is ridiculous.
