I agree. Keep the route tight as possible. I have 12 in my neighborhood. Less than 5 minutes from my house. Try and do right turns as much as possible to avoid sitting in traffic.

I paid a service for two years and they tore up my yard. I have narrow gates (36") so he was using a professional stand up mower. It left bad ruts from his tires and when he did the "J" turns he spun out the grass. Also he used a string trimmer to edge and trim and I had bare dirt 6" wide around everything and he dug a 3" ditch along the hard surfaces. I went back to doing it myself and it is back to the way it should be.

@@TheLawnWhisperer It really is though. I've run a landscaping business for like 7 years and my father did for 30 years. Horizontal stripes are better because you can't see any imperfections in the lines from the street, they will look perfect even if they aren't perfectly straight. Increased curb appeal is literally our business.

My biggest obstacle is storage. Great tips though. Thanks for sharing.

Rent a storage unit or even a storage parking space pretty cheap anywhere from $70-$200 a month

I'm retired, making a few extra dollars would be nice. Are there many women in the lawn business? I have some yard equipment. I have a 55 inch Husqvarna riding mower I have a Backpack Blower Husqvarna I have two push mowers an edger, a trimmer and a 5X8 trailer my son and I bought years ago. I think that will be enough to start a small Yard Service. Retired from a head custodian position I have done big yards at schools. I love your lawns after cutting so healthy looking. I will continue to watch and learn more from your videos. Thank you.❤

If you can run lawn maintenance equipment, have the ability to drive to the yard & have a desire, you can do it as a business.
Doesn't matter your sex 😁 & in my area, it's mostly men.

Why would you start at 8:30 in the morning when the grass is still wet. If I was a homeowner I would not be happy with my grass being cut wet. Grass flows a lot better out of the mower when it is dry, usually in the afternoon.

I own a lawn care business and not only we mow at 8 but we also mow in the rain. You couldn't tell the difference if I mowed your yard when it was dry or wet.
