    Merrin will definitely play a BIG role in protecting Kata from the darkside as well. In fact, Merrin already has the jump on it before Cal even does at the end of the game, Cal is preparing the bodies while Merrin is telling Kata she has to confront it but not let it consume her. Merrin, like Cal has lost everything and she was in a very dark place mentally and emotionally until she met Cal (again, part of her talk with Kata), it's because of Merrin's own experience with hatred and a lust for revenge and overcoming that darkness that she can talk to Kata about it and help guide her in the right direction.
    Random side note, that "Ghost Star" song is hauntingly BEAUTIFUL. It's cute and innocent yet so sad and lonely. If Kata grows up to be a badass warrior for the light, maybe she'll get a nickname like Merrin's "Desert Ghost" and be called the "Ghost Star". Just a silly thing I thought of, I know it won't happen.

      Or if she doesn’t you know become a Jedi like bode she’d probably become one with the Rebellion against the empire cause ima assume here she’s around like 5-10? So around Luke’s age and it would actually make sense, if she isn’t going to grow to become a Jedi she’d probably help the rebellion against the empire. That’s what Cal would like and probably Bode too.

      Yeah, it seems like I’m the only one that’s very disappointed with the planets in this game. I mean, Koboh and Jedha are amazing. They’re huge, beautiful planets with a lot of exploration, but the rest are so average. Coruscant is slightly above average, but there still isn’t much to see after the opening mission. I already explored 88% of it after the first mission lol. Shattered Moon is small. Nova Garon was amazing only because of the mission. Tanalorr was small as hell. Overall, outside of Jedha and Koboh, there isn’t much post-story exploration. I’m still like 30% away from 100% on Koboh and Jedha lol.

    • @multoxgaming5756

      Perhaps Tanalorr will be an important location in the third game and is therefore not yet really explorable in Jedi Survivor.

      @@unapologeticOne the game could have really used one more unique planet. Imo between killing Rayvis and fighting Dagan or after killing Dagan and Bode’s betrayal. The game races to end end and I think spending a few hours for whatever reason on one more linear planet roughly the size of Coruscant would slow the game down between the main bosses Rayvis, Dagan, Vader, and Bode. You basically fight all 4 of those main bosses in the last five hours of the story.
      Tanalor having nothing is fine because I think it may be the main hub in the next game.

    • @unapologeticOne
      @unapologeticOne ปีที่แล้ว

      @@scoth2200 Tanalorr having nothing would be fine if it wasn’t so hyped up. I might be mistaken, but from about halfway through the game until the end Tanalorr was supposed to be this big thing, something we risked our life for, and then it was so underwhelming when we actually got there. I’m not even kidding like when I beat the game I was like, “Wait, that’s it?” lol. I was expecting a lot more from Tanalorr in this game. I spent half the game doing everything just to get there just for it to be smaller than Cere’s Base lmao.
      And yeah I agree another planet the size of Coruscant between Vader and Bode would’ve been great.
      Or they could’ve put more emphasis on side quests, like maybe make some of them mandatory to progress the main story around that point of the game.

    So the first game was all about growing up and facing your fears, while the second one was about becoming more mature and letting go of anger. I'm guessing the third one will be all about fatherhood and mentorship, and probably dealing with guilt. I can see a lot of drama and conflict around his task to "guide her through the darkness" and the fact that he killed her actual father in front of her eyes. Most likely Cal is going to sacrifice himself to protect Merrin and/or Kata, just like every single one of his parental figures did for him.

Probably along with Cordova too. I hope they do make another game tho & do a great job with it! Story wise & game play. But I also really want them to start using Cal in live action films too so I hope it doesn’t take them forever to drop the next game. I just feel like it will be a long time regardless bc they take their time with these games & I understand why & wouldn’t want the story half assed. I'd like to point out that Cal at the end did not look at Bodes lightsaber but Ceres. After the fight against Bode we can clearly see that he used Dagan Geras lightsaber, which is also shown through an echo in the observatory.
    As for the "Guide her through the darkness" we could also theorize that it is related to Trilla. We did not actually get a death confirmation, we just saw her getting her back slashed. We just assume that she is dead, but considering Ceres last words "Trilla" and Ceres interaction with Cal at the end she might be still alive. Just imprisoned, getting reprogrammed and will join the fight again in the third game and Cal has to guide her to the light side again.
    This would also fit the team as everyone is or was in contact with the darkside: Cere in the past used the darkside, Merrin is a nightsister which utilize the darkside in their magic, Kata is the daughter of Bode and for Cal his signature ability is considered to be on the darkside while he also now is able to embrace the darkside. But all of them are good people and fight for the lightside, so rescueing Trilla and making her join our fight would fit this new jedi order Cal is building. Jedis who are not afraid of the darkside and use it features to help others.

      I think Cere saying Trilla as she died was a sort of “don’t forget her, don’t let the same happen to Kata” sort of thing. Maybe even Cere finally finding peace as she became one with the force, to be with her Padawan once again. It would definitely undermine Fallen Order’s ending to have had her survive I think.
      Edit- Cere wouldn’t have actually known about Kata as she died, but I still think the general message stays the same. “Don’t let someone close to you stray so far away that you lose them, like I did with Trilla”

  • @jisageek
    @jisageek ปีที่แล้ว +2

    My theory:
    I think the game will start with a significant time jump (much closer to ANH) with Kata officially being Cal's padawan and essentially his and Merrin's child. Then something happens (Empire attacks, possibly Merrin/Greez's death or something of the sort) that causes Cal to "embrace the darkness" once again. Kata will become a main player to saving Cal and convincing him to not turn out like Bode. Considering the game devs messing with the idea of playing two characters during the story of Jedi Survivor (Cere and Cal) then we could potentially get a story based co-op system with you either playing Cal or Kata depending on whats happening (sorta like Peter and Miles in Insomniac's Spider-Man 2)

    • @simletsplays777
      @simletsplays777 ปีที่แล้ว

      The whole 2 player co-op system probably won't happen. It's a mix of 2 things. Story and development time. When it comes to the story area, they won't do a large time jump. They already did that with Survivor, I doubt they'll do it again. Fallen Order was kinda an open-ended ending where if the game sold poorly they wouldn't have given the players a huge cliffhanger and it gave them the opportunity to do a large jump. Survivor ended with a cliffhanger. The time jump won't be any more than 3 years. Kata will be at most 12 (More realistically 11). With Cal and Merrin busy with the hidden path and Tanalorr, they won't have time to get Kata full-blown training. So she'll be 11 years old, with part-time training. She definitely wouldn't be going on the battlefield with Cal and Merrin. Now when it comes to the production side of things. You have to realize this is EA publishing the game. Seeing as Survivor was released in 3.5 years whilst the pandemic was going on, EA will probably use that as the maximum amount of time they have to develop it. Respawn should spend those precious years developing more in-depth planets, smoothing the animations out even further, and creating even more story-oriented side missions. They'd be wasting time if they decided to restructure the entire combat system to make it a GOW rip-off. And another thing to add is that the entire trilogy has revolved around Cal. It's been his journey, not Katas. That would be like making 4, 5, and 6 revolve around Ashoka instead of Luke and Leia.

    -Cal learning force lightning not the sith version, but the one Plo koon used as well
    -Cal learning to see into the future just like Sifo-dyas / have visions about Vader and Luke like Starkiller had
    -Cal fighting with Vader minimum once but not like in the fallen order where you have to run for your dear life
    -Cal learning the fighting style Starkiller used (hold the lightsaber behind you)
    -I wish that Cal meets Obi-wan or Ahsoka or even Ahsoka somewhere along the way

    Cere's last word was Trilla, which makes me think that she's still alive, with her being guided from the darkness. Kata, is still too light and pure to be in the darkness. Also, Kata was not really discussed around her, so in many ways she's a nonentity to her.
    Secondly, I think like this game, they'll start against the Empire, but find the same enemies that Dagan fought in Tanalor. They never gave the name of whatever they're fighting other than saying that the Jedi gave up on it.
    I'm hoping, that this leads the way to a third way, not light or dark but something that uses both, while being isolated from the main continuity.
    Otherwise, all these characters are just dead and their hidden location overrun by the Empire prior to the original trilogy.

The fact that even after you beat the game you can still embrace the dark side per your slow ability this is something that I think gonna be part of the theme of the next game. the ability is called "Force Ghost". Very few Jedi are able to manifest their consciousness through the force after death and becoming one with it. like some examples(including the EU and Legends cause sequels do not exist in my mind) would be Qui Gon Jinn, Anakin(after ep 6), Yoda, Obi Wan, both Legends and Canon Luke. Given how cere is now choosing to be closer to the force after Fallen Order(presumably), she might become a Force Ghost in the sequel to Survivor, and her and Merrin together can teach Cal how to use the Dark side without losing himself. Now seeing Survivor, i personally think that Cal was made to be the next Starkiller in canon, like someone who would be able to use Sith and Jedi techniques both. And there might be a Dark Side and a Lightside ending, although a third "Grey" ending would be cool as well. but nonetheless, Cal has so much potential as a character, i hope they do his character justice. and if what im thinking is right, Cal being able to use both Sith(Darkside) abilities and Lightside abilities, he might be as powerful as Mace Windu, would be one of the, if not the most, versatile duelists if he can switch between all his Lightsaber stances in Canon given they are all mastered. Pretty powerful imo

(whom probably won't see eye to eye) We'll probably get a time jump of about 7 years where Kata is starting to become a young woman and has been training under Cal for this time. I feel like its gonna give us divisive character interactions between Cal and his new apprentice. Due to Cals subsequent brush with the dark side, I think he's gonna turn fully in the next game (Maybe Merrin gets killed or something, and its gonna be up to Kata to save him (which is probably gonna be the apex of the 3rd games story) ending in tragedy for either Cal or Kata, depending on players choices through the game, Kinda like a God of War meets Mass Effect kinda deal. Cal Kestis has the innate ability of Force Psychometry. It wouldn't surprise me if, as Cal got stronger, instead of only feeling Force echoes from the past, he could start to feel Force echoes from across the veil. I think this is why Cal can see Cere after death - it's not something any Jedi can do (aka: it's not something Kata can do). If you watch carefully, Cal never directly talks back to "Cere" when she communicates with him after her death. I feel like Respawn was using Cere as a stand-in for a general manifestation of the Force that Cal can potently feel. It was the Force (not necessarily Cere) telling Cal when to jump to hyperspace. It was the Force telling Cal to to "Guide her through the Darkness." But how can a game "show" their players a feeling, and ensure their players immediately trust it? Well, just make an incredibly important character say it!
    I don't think Kata will see visions of her father. In fact, I don't even know if they will make her a Jedi. Bode was a Jedi, so we're *assuming* that Kata is Force-sensitive, too. However, not once in the game are we told that Kata actually has any Force powers. It's possible Bode was suppressing them so Kata wouldn't be taken by the Empire, but if Cal trains her to be a Jedi, then we would have two Jedis running around in the next game.
    We are very rapidly approaching Episode 4 in the Fallen Order/Survivor timeline. Survivor takes place in the same year as the Obi Wan TV show, which means Luke and Leia are 10 years old (they were 19 during the events of A New Hope). The games have so far only jumped ahead every 5 years (Cal was 13 when Order 66 happened, 5 years later at the start of Fallen Order he was 18, and then 5 years later at the start of Survivor he was 23). If we continue the 5-year trend, then the next game will take place 4 years before the events of the first Star Wars movie, and Kata would only be about 12 or 13 years old. How much "Darkness" can you realistically make a 12 year old do before it starts to feel like a bad horror movie? How much combat can you let a 12 year old participate in before Cal and Merrin look like terrible parents?
    Telling new stories in this time period is tricky, because the major events in the canon have already happened, and these new characters *weren't* there. What were they doing, if not helping to bring down the Empire? How can the studio make a gripping story where the characters ultimately don't participate in any of the major battles or events? Maybe Cal and crew do "side missions," like how Rogue One made a huge story out of one line in a New Hope? Or, they could make the drama "smaller" by only focusing on events that directly affect Cal, Merrin, and Kata, instead of trying to force them into already established canon events. Maybe the Empire kidnaps Kata, so instead of Cal participating in some big, canonical battle, he instead fights through an original stormtrooper unit that took his little girl or something? Basically, we're down to this narrative choice: will Respawn only write Cal into original stories, or will they attempt to tie him into the stories we saw in the movies?
    You also have to think about it from a gameplay point of view: Respawn is constantly expanding the Jedi series. You only played as Cal in Fallen Order, but in Survivor you can now get your companions to help you, and you even played as Cere. How would Kata elevate the gameplay in the next game? Would you play as Kata? Would it be like "The Last of Us" and Cal and Kata are played like Joel and Ellie? Would having a little companion make puzzle-solving and platforming feel renewed, or would watching over an NPC while you're trying to execute complex moves become a burden?
    Regardless, this is one of my favorite video game series. I hope to God they don't do a Mass Effect 3 and spoil an amazing series with a terrible ending!!

    The only way in Star Wars lore that Cere's consciousness can still exist is if she's a Force ghost. It's possible that Qui-Gon Jinn has been helping other dead Jedi return from the netherworld of the Force. Bode is gone forever. Dark-siders can't become Force ghosts. Anakin only became a Force ghost because in the end he let go of his hatred. It's the irony of Force ghosts. It's the only true way to become immortal in Star Wars lore and the Sith, who are obsessed with immortality, can't achieve it because they would have to let go of the things that make them Sith. Bode isn't a Sith, but the same rules apply to him.
    I think that in the third game we're going to play as Kata around the time of the original trilogy. I don't think we're getting another game with Cal as the protagonist. Instead he'll be the Master. My idea for the game is that Kata has a big argument with Cal Kestis and end up leaving Cal's secret Jedi Order and Tanalorr to join the Rebel Alliance. The game begins with her disguised as an Imperial officer on a shuttle headed for a Star Destroyer. As it approaches we see the second Death Star in the background.
    When you can finally move it's sort of like the first Half-Life game. You walk through the interior of the Star Destroyer until you get to your objective. There all hell breaks loose and you have to fight your way back to your shuttle through a warzone. This would be at the same time that the Battle of Endor takes place. As you leave you see the Death Star explode.
    Alternatively the tutorial level could take place on the second Death Star, and as you reach the shuttle you run into Luke Skywalker dragging a dead Vader. This actually wouldn't contradict the movie. Because we only see Vader's death scene, and Luke piloting the shuttle. Considering that they both have fathers who turned to the dark side it would be an opportunity for them to bond.

    • @xErrorless
      @xErrorless ปีที่แล้ว

      @@njsrkhjhj1903 that’s good too. Like if third game Cal was to die, another game surrounding his offspring after his death and their time during the rebellion helping Luke and the squad would be fire as well.

    I’m also not a Star Wars fanatic. But there is a chance that Cal is instead getting a signal from the force but he hears Cere because of how she became such an important part of Cal’s life. (Please do correct me if I’m wrong about this)

    9:25 Why should Kata use Cere's lightsaber if falling to the dark side? Because that's the one shown at the end. We don't know what Cal did to Dagan's lightsaber, wich Bode used.

    I think the next game will take place at least 10 years from Jedi: Survivor. Kata is near the same age as Luke Skywalker and a force user. It would complete Carl’s character arc for him to become a master much like the two masters he lost. Kata’s story could be her struggling with the light and dark much like her father did right in front of her. She would be the playable character or at least switching between her and Cal. That’s what I’d do and I think it’s what Respawn wants because they’ve admitted that the original protagonist of the Jedi games was gonna be a woman.

    • @jingleballs9935

      They are definitely doing that. The women always has to overshadow and take over the male ones nowadays

      Nah, Respawn already made it clear that Star wars Jedi is Cal's story i doubt they would make kata or someone the MAIN protagonist instead of Cal, especially on the last game. I'm not saying that we won't be able to play as kata or anything, but the "struggling with the light and dark" is gonna be 100% a Cal thing on the last game.

      @@gabrielmartins2959 Maybe a god of war ragnarok style where you’re mainly Kratos, but you play as Loki/Atreus in certain sections of the story. Problem is, will we care enough about Kata to want to play as her for those sections? We had a full game to get used to Atreus, but Kata really didn’t do much except be kinda adorable for 5 minutes on screen.

    Jedi can become force ghosts when they die. You see Obi-Wan Kenobi, Yoda, Qui-Gon jinn, Anakin Skywalker, and now Cere all able to speak to their allies after their deaths. Which always made me wonder why anyone would fall to the dark side of the force. The light side gives you a type of immortality that no Sith had ever possessed. It also makes it nearly impossible to totally wipeout the Jedi because a force ghosts can share their knowledge with other force sensitives.

Cause i get the fact that the bow daughter could possibly play a big role the next game, but remember he’s starting a jedi “temple” on a planet outside the empire rule that out side the data base , soo i think he’ll have more then one student next game .i think you’ll be able
    Make your own “jedi”. “Hints” co-op and doing jedi missions with your friends cause the temple is gonna be the main hud so , attending a jedi temple “playing as a student “
