I find this funny. I've been breaking up study sessions for the mcat with "medical" shows like the resident or house. I think you're right, its building new connections with what you're learning in a different but applicable context. Really helps with retention.
I am watching ER and I really like how people in the show “grow up” and become a great doctors but still learning and making mistakes! It really helps me to stay motivated but also realistic about what it takes to be a doctor. I am combining many things by watching the ER - improving my English, improving my medical terminology and also I am resting. Sometimes I just stop the show and look up the diagnosis and honestly I really used that searched stuff in my real life! And it’s so funny when classmates ask me how is it possible I know certain things 😂 thanks for this video!
So true! I’ve been watching ER (would highly recommend), and being able to apply the medical knowledge we learn in class to the show is a great motivator!
I freaked out when you said Greys! Haha on a daily basis I'll get overwhelmed and frustrated with studying so I'll watch greys to not only remind myself of the end goal but to also get in the mandatory cry sesh.
My roomie and I are M2s and we watch an episode of Grey's every night!!! I totally agree with this. Lowkey, Grey's is also helpful to remember some of the clinical presentations of rare diseases because we can link them to the patients in the show. #neverforget when Mer diagnosed that little boy with Kawasaki hahaha
I’m pre med and I do the same! I’ve already seen all of greys so I just play it in the background while I study! And it’s so motivating and makes my study/homework time more relaxing and fun.
I do the same to stay motivated in PA school! I watch an episode almost every night while I'm getting ready for bed lol. This is so relatable, you are not crazy at all!!
I’m going into a rad tech program and greys anatomy is what really swayed me from nursing to rad. I totally get where you’re coming from. I watch episodes as a reward for studying and get excited when I know terminology and procedures. 😁
I am taking anatomy and physiology class for gen ed and you have helped me study in an easier way and NOT writing word after word in the lecture slides! THANK YOU! ( by the way I will start watching it! I have heard of it but I am now going to watch it!) :D
LOLOL. I love this. I’ve recently lost motivation in medical school so I had to lookup some disease on medical school and noticed my interested peaked. Funny how I ran into this. I would 100% agree.
Im a junior in highschool right now and im super interested in radiology and am looking to become a radiologist in the future and it would be awesome if you could make a video about how you became a radiologist and the nessecary steps you need to take in order to become a radiologist thank you and keep up the great videos!
I am just watching this but OMG Greys also keeps me motivated to study! I’ve seen so many healthcare professionals say “this is not what should motivate you” like 😭 OKAY. But, THANKS DR. CELLINI! 😭
Started watching this during my premed and new that I'm in second year med school-so stressed, overwhelmed and depressed. I try and restart watching it again after my exams. Thanks!
I haven't watched Greys Anatomy (which I definitely will), however, since I am only in High School, Doctor Strange motivates me to pursue a career in medicine!!
Completely agree with this video. Both watching a tv-show related to medicine, and just going somewhere every now and then, changing the scenery - even just downtown, a nature trail in a nearby forest, whatnot.
When he said he turned on greys anatomy I automatically got excited 😂 I even paused the video and did a little dance, people may say don’t watch greys anatomy if you think that’ll help you be a doctor but honestly it’s one of my biggest motivations I love itt!!
Well that's true. A Medical Drama does keep you motivated. I watched only 3 episodes of The Good Doctor and it motivated me. I'll be doing this in my Second year. Only 2 exams left of 1st year now. And I'll be a 2nd Year Medical Student. Wooot. It's a good feeling. But first year was kinda hard due to online classes and lockdown etc. Now I wish Covid wouldn't interrupt my 2nd year. I miss making my Med Vlogs, but I'll be back to it just after a week.
I know this posted ten months ago but I had to comment anyways... Yes! Grey's Anatomy inspired me to go into healthcare AND I 100% wrote about it in my personal statement that got me into grad school! You're not crazy!
I totally agree with you, these kind of TV shows keep my energy up while I'm studying, I also believe that the most realistic medicine TV show is SCRUBS i really like it because its combined of realistic and high level of comedy
Greys anatomy, house MD, scrubs, ER, my shows!!! 💓 Also 24hrs in A&E is a great british Medical TV show which is filmed in real life, in a real hospital, it's so good! I reccomend 👌
I don't like grey's because it's dramatic but I'll try it. I'll probably still dislike it but I hear a lot of people going on about it. Review: Yea. You're right. It's more interesting now that I've began my clinical years. lol When he tried to put the IV in the patient's hand and missed, I started crying "it's not just me."
i tried your way to keep myself motivated to pursue my dream and it helps ! i am so damn determined to become an ER doc, emergency medicine here i come !1!1
I totally get this! I’m not an MD, but I do have a PhD and ER kept me motivated. My background isn’t in medicine, but I connected with the challenge and grit,! Lol!
the spatial study tip was awesome - thank you! maybe i should get a tablet for uni.... also I've deleted all social media apart from youtube, it's sooo much easier to study this way
To be honest grey’s motivated me to go for medicine. I’ve been backing away from the idea for a while. I keep saying I’ll be done when I’m almost 40, or I won’t have a life. I can’t seem to picture myself doing anything else though lol
that's a very relevent tip tbh when I see tips on how to get motivated they are mostly boring and I forget them as soon as the videos end 🙂 but I liked this one keep on the hard work doctor 👐
I know, Grey's Anatomy motivates me too! I think that watching that model of medicine and physicians can inspire us and make us more ambitious :) Thanks for this video! Andrea
YAW me too but I watch another medical drama and it's a kdrama N I watch it while I am eating dinner yeah it's so motivating I even continue studying a 2 hours after watching it
Haha good to know I wasnt the only one being motivated by watching Grey's Anatomy 😛 Im trying to watching the Good Doctor as well. That kid is wicked SMART !!!
yes! lol i watch the good doctor and the main character has autism, i also have autism but on a more minor spectrum. its very motivating watching him be a surgeon and be very good at it lol. it makes me excited to one day become a resident so it motivates me to work hard so i can accomplish thats goal :)
No way!!! Me, too!!! And i came here to get motivated to study! 😂😂😂 Did you ever study while watching it? Like flashcards? it might draw my focus, but make things more pleasant??
Be honest....How many of you guys do this as well!??
I do watch Doctors
Me 👍
I find this funny. I've been breaking up study sessions for the mcat with "medical" shows like the resident or house. I think you're right, its building new connections with what you're learning in a different but applicable context. Really helps with retention.
Where i live they have this show where a camera crew follows around real doctors. Makes me super motivated + get to see my teachers on TV XD
Me Dragon Ball Super, being Zeno Sama as a doctor is awesome :)

I miss House MD so much
Ivana Zirojevic what ?
Ooh.
Good idea.
House is the most motivational medschool professor I ever had, at least I assume so 😌
I stay motivated by watching your videos, and picturing myself doing IR residency.
That's why I'm here!
What's IR?
Honestly, what got me interested in medicine was...do not laugh: House MD.
Me too
I am watching ER and I really like how people in the show “grow up” and become a great doctors but still learning and making mistakes! Grey's anatomy is what first sparked my interest in medicine! I consider it the first step on my medical journey!
You and me both!

Grey's Anathomy and Dr. House for ever😍😂👍
So true! I’ve been watching ER (would highly recommend), and being able to apply the medical knowledge we learn in class to the show is a great motivator!
I'm glad you all agree with me!
I can’t believe I watched a 6 minute ad for Greys Anatomy
Would highly recommend The Good Doctor on Hulu. Amazing show.
I'll have to watch
@@DrCellini it's really good
Dr. Cellini curious did you ever watch it? Lol I’m hooked!
Yes it's Amazing.
But I don't have Netflix. So I watched some of it from Telegram. Now I'll continue in my second year. I only watched 3 episodes
I freaked out when you said Greys! Haha on a daily basis I'll get overwhelmed and frustrated with studying so I'll watch greys to not only remind myself of the end goal but to also get in the mandatory cry sesh.

This is the best comment ever!
I love watching Dr.House ! It keeps me super motivated! All of those differential diagnosis and crazy treatments!
I’m pre med and I do the same! I’ve already seen all of greys so I just play it in the background while I study! And it’s so motivating and makes my study/homework time more relaxing and fun.
I can relate! Greys anatomy motivated me a lot during my pre med days and even now!
I do the same to stay motivated in PA school! I watch an episode almost every night while I'm getting ready for bed lol. This is so relatable, you are not crazy at all!!

It's so awesome when people share their skills and experiences with others. Thank you
I loved HOUSE. Did you watch that show as well?
I swear this has quickly become one of my fav Medicine related TH-cam channels. keep up the great work, man! much appreciated xx
Well, thank ya!
So I got my inspiration from House MD, and i still love that show! I'm currently pre-med but I cannot wait!
That actually makes perfect sense. You were connecting the information to your emotions.
I am taking anatomy and physiology class for gen ed and you have helped me study in an easier way and NOT writing word after word in the lecture slides! THANK YOU! ( by the way I will start watching it! I have heard of it but I am now going to watch it!) :D

As a Pre-med student I watch Amsterdam to keep me motivated because sometime it hard and you want to give when you learn does big terms.
Can you make a video on the process of applying to med school, like the personal essay, interviews, etc.
Started watching this during my premed and new that I'm in second year med school-so stressed, overwhelmed and depressed. I try and restart watching it again after my exams. Thanks!
You're right medical series r helping a lot to get into serious situations.
Best motivation that a med student can have
I haven't watched Greys Anatomy (which I definitely will), however, since I am only in High School, Doctor Strange motivates me to pursue a career in medicine!!

I have never seen an episode before, I’m pre med right now and I’m definitely gonna start watching this now 💯
SCRUBS tv show keeps me motivated and entertained from the senseless humor, we all need to develop some type of humor to make it through :)
We watched St. Elsewhere episodes at noon every day. Worked for us!
I want to be a doctor and this channel is one of my favorites. Please keep the videos coming!
Thanks so much!
Thank you honestly, this made me feel more motivated while studying for my USMLE step 1! #thestruggleisreal
My motivation was ER (tv show), I wanted to be good as Dr. Greene!
I did this my first semester of nursing school! It really works lol
It's too much of a coincidence. I'm new in med school and I also greys anatomy helps me.
I know this posted ten months ago but I had to comment anyways...

To be honest grey’s motivated me to go for medicine. I’ve been backing away from the idea for a while. I keep saying I’ll be done when I’m almost 40, or I won’t have a life. I can’t seem to picture myself doing anything else though lol

See you being a doctor already
Is enough motivation for me
Will try it now, currently in 2nd week in med school. My grades okay so far, but my motivation is depleting. Anyway, thanks!
I am curious about radiology residency training. What do they teach you? What do you perform? What is your hospital’s radiology plan?
It’s Chicago Med for me!!
Thanks for this video. I'm not in medicine but I'm studying for CPA while working and motivation can be an issue. So I feel like I can identify. :)

Mine was Emergency room. I feel you!!!
It’s really hard to stay motivated when you fail a test. I’m trying to work out this on myself.
Thank you Dr.

Can you make a video telling us more about how to get accepted into med school and does the name of the school u go to really matter?
wow i do some of these but this video was very informative, thanks
