Yeah, they threw it in there so there would be a happy alternate ending; I still prefer the tragic nature of the original ending, but a lot of people like the Ep. Ignis ending better

I didn't realize it was the fat guy you fought until i closely inspected the name to confirm it. My first playthrough of the dlc's were with mods so yeah, the guy was a T-rey toy from toystory and ravus was a big white chocobo

I think the part that Noctis didn't had to sacrifice himself it was because Ignis screwed Ardyn so hard on their fight that he was sent to hell or something, but this is not a definitive way to kill him so he will be back, and Noctis's descendants will have to do the job.
Also, why is Ignis way stronger than Noctis while using the ring? That makes no sense..
Plot armor maybe?
While yes, Ignis seems to gain supernatural speed and strenght, it also eats him away slowly.
Noctis can use the ring without anything bad happenning to me AND make a goddamn portal thingy.
