A few weeks back (this was a couple weeks after the Loki finale dropped), I was talking about the FF7 Remake ending with my non-FF fan friends (mostly just so I can have someone to vent my confusion to) and their reaction was to compare the main game’s ending to Loki with all the talk I did about time travel and the multiverse. I can see where they are coming from, I guess. If we say that Sephiroth is Sylvia in this metaphor, that the Whispers are the TVA, and Cloud and Avalanche are Loki, it sort of works.

I played dirge of Cerberus before I had ever even heard of the original final fantasy 7. Needless to say, I was really really confused as to what was going on, especially since I was like 7 years old. But I still really enjoyed the game overall. Even know I remember it being a fun game. Am I literally the only person who enjoyed it?
when you're 7 years old almost any game is going to be acceptable Children are notoriously not picky about what they consume, and SE have for years been good at creating kid friendly content that's both edgy and appealing to teen girls as well, that basically sums up what kingdom hearts is, it's anime fighting, angst, cartoon characters and action combat, it's everything kids love

You go through some major FF7 landmarks such as: Shinra Manor, The train graveyeard, various reactors, Kalm, and the Shahagin infested sewers. Along with some new places such as the deepground reactor in Midgard and the WRO headquarters. The shooting was a tad odd when compared to games like Call of Duty, but when compared to games like borderlands, it isn't that strange. The weapon variety was also pretty nice. While some people claim that weapon variety was low, I beg to differ, yes there were technically only 4 weapons. But the configurations in which you could set them up in and the different receivers (such as the P Griffon which made people get knocked airborne on hit, and had a ludicrous fire rate, but Very low damage, so it was kind of a joke weapon but few things are as fun as juggling a squad using nothing but a machingun) made each weapon feel truly unique, and despite some jank could be customised to fit entirely different roles. The machinegun in particular (IMO) was the most versatile, as long barrel configuration created something more akin to an LMG, where the short barrel acted more like an SMG. Plus the 3 elemental materia which acted as shotgun (bolt), grenade (fire) and... ice (I don't remember what it's benefit was if any at all) The mix and match of barrel lengths, barrel types, receivers and variants, and materias in truth lead to much more variety than one would think. Perhaps the biggest detractors from the game were the confusing leveling system (for weapons, and character level), the bad difficulty curve, overreliance on hallway design for most action sequences, limit break mode kinda sucked, and repetitive dialogue (seriously, Dr.Crescent's poem about Chaos, her "I'm sorry" line, Reeve Tuesti insisting on 5 years ago and the WRO).

And you should check the "impossible without a walkthrough Whack-a-Box" trophy when you get the PS5! Also, loved the "Aerith forgot something" and then "Zack's new ending - but wait!"
I basically brute-forced my way through the Whack-A-Box section. I figured out that Windstorm could focus on specific targets when you throw the knives, used enough ATB Charges to use Level 3 Banishment at that one point with the 1500 pt boxes, and somehow managed to beat it with just 3 seconds to spare. Why did they think having a challenge where you need to get 50,000 points worth of boxes when there's only 50,000 worth would be a good idea; Cloud's challenges had no such constraints.
I think conceptualy most people don’t really have a problem with. I mean think about crazed guy being restrained do to immense power is a simple yet very effective troupe. Compared to the other deepground members I think he’s definitely the most memorable..mostly do to his design (which I unapologetically love). That’s something that can kind of be said for most of compilation great ideas and concepts, but meh to bad excitation

Now, I defended DoC as at least a decent game since then, but I cannot really defend it if it becomes a major part of FF VII remake, nor supported the whisperers inclusion.
