Opening the Second Gateway in Ontario | SnowRunner Hard Mode [S07E05]

- Welcome back to my SnowRunner Hard Mode series.
This episode has taken a couple of months to appear, as a result of some technical issues and a personal melt down that blocked me from making and editing a new video. As a result, there is some missing footage between episode 4 and this one. This episode picks up with me finishing the second gateway contract, and then doing some scouting in the Loadstar.

Welcome back Atlay. Nice to have you back with a chipper voice. I definitely missed your proper hard mode play through. That Derry Firetruck sure is very useful in Amur, with the active suspension it will get you places where your favorite Tatra will not. Cheers Mate!

Great to see you back at it. 😊 Shame about the lost footage, but the overview of what you did works just fine. The Derry Special is nice, but not necessarily the most stable at times. Also I totally made the same mistake about opening that gateway.
And I saw others mention the Mastodon. Not a bad truck, though I think it could do with a raised suspension, as it's got a chin problem at times, for one thing. I think I still prefer the 605R, though the Mastodon is a bit more flexible in some ways if a bit wide, and not as powerful as I'd imagined, though apparently some changes may be happening in PTS for the next update, just not sure if they're messing with the chin issue. Hoping the new trucks on the horizon are good (Kenworth 963 and Mack Defense M917), but won't know till I try I guess.

Glad to see you back. Wish they had made the water in increments of 1800L, to allow for other ways to put out the fires or more accurately dose the embers so they don't reignite. Sent the Derry strait to Amur thinking I could use the Ank Civilian with a trailer to move water. The trailer just like the fuel trailer only holds 2000L. For those warehouses if it was 3600 instead of 4400L that setup would work along with the water semi-trailer that holds 3700L. The Zikz 566a's water tank holds 1800L. I also use Davinci Resolve, if you have a question MrAlexTeck does tutorials on TH-cam.

I sure hope you have not given up on making videos and that you are ok. Your work is truly awesome and enjoyable. I have been watching your videos for a while now and if i had any criticism at all it would be that i think you can be a little to hard on yourself at times. Not so much your play but more with your editing. You do a great job. 👍

Couldn't you just upload the recording as it is without recording? Or is it not watchable due to other stuff? Just wondering
As for the water boom missions: I don't know if it was a bug back then or it is like that but when you complete those tower, they were empty.
They act like a sub-station, meaning you need to bring water to them first, and then take from them to the fire location.
I think this is come to play more in co-op and not as a single player.
What I did, I equipped another truck with a water container, which can also take the trailer. and along with the Derry, spread the water.

Thank you! Interestingly, you've hit the exact crux of what has been causing me problems... I'm a bit of a perfectionist, and even this video took longer to get out than I expected when I wrote the last community post, because I'm not entirely happy with it. Putting out a raw unedited video would trigger me too much. Plus, I have now deleted it in frustration. 😁
Ah, thanks for the info regarding water towers and booms! I'll complete the missions anyway, but handy to know that they might be empty (unless it was a bug for you). Water convoy sounds like the way to go. 👍🏼😊
Yep, I've seen the Tribe overview of the Mastadon, looks impressive. Just checked and it's in my library already, but I guess I'll need to buy it?

@@AtlayGaming Yeah. You need to buy it. It's a little bit expensive but it's a really good truck. I'm using it in Amur. It has a 500 litter fuel tank and a pretty good consumption. And the crane is a little bit different then what you are use to. If you'll buy it, you'll see 😉
