      @@Amenemahe does buff early game units quite a bit and I found his ranged units just eat Norsca's early melee infantry in combat, dervishes beat their cavalry and hounds too on normal. But I only played Realms of Chaos with him is he a lot harder in Immortal Empires?
      Edit: is it that he doesn't get an elemental bear?

    This video made me think of the very first campaign I ever played in the total war warhammer series. In warhammer my first ever campaign was with Grimgor Iron Hide. Because I never like doing tutorials and prefer to jump in, fuck up horribly, and learn from my experience what not to do, the dwarves ended up kicking my ass the first few campaigns. The first time I was able to acually take Karaza Karak (Forgive me if that's not how its spelled) and watched it turn all Orky is still one of my favorite memories with the total war warhammer trilogy. I still to this day prefer orks to any other faction, but the new dlc thrones of decay and the new units/ mechanics for the empire and dwarves has me screwing around with them a lot too.

      Same bro. Though my first campain was Archaon back before the chaos rework so I played easy and basically steamrolled through with negative income the entire time but just deficit spending all the time to the point where I had so many armies I had to install the chaos faction expanded mod to spice things up. Will admit, I kinda miss the chaos hordes but, how they are in WH3 vs 2 is still really fun.
      Also you almost got it right, it’s spelled Karaz A Karak I believe.

    Hated Cathay as a new player and almost quit the game until I got the dlcs and played Tyrion. After that I played snick and oh boy it took me a while to understand what was going on but the complexity of it is also what makes it really fun. Snikch is definitely one of my most favorite campaigns so far!

    Tamurkhan has easily one of the easiest campaigns in the game, on top of probably one of the easiest factions to play as, tops. I'm also surprised you didn't include Skarbrand or Valkia, or Arkhan the Black, who has himself become so ludicrously easy, especially compared with 2.

    • @jongarrad5647
      @jongarrad5647 19 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Arkhan's made out like a bandit compared to the other Tomb Kings. Especially Settra - that campaign's a lot less fun when you have a couple of Skellie chaff stacks to fight Skarbrand in the early game.

    My first ever campaign was Malekith in Warhammer Two and I think he's a phenomenal first choice in 3. His starting position is incredibly similar to the donut but with a few more enemies in the surrounding area. The layout of his surroundings can also end up teaching you about handling multiple warfronts due to the mommy of Khorne to the north, DJ Khahtep to the south, the White Dwarf to the west, and Alith Anar to the east. The dark elf economy being pretty good helps keep that from being overwhelming for new players though. The dark elf roster is also pretty balanced with solid options for most roles in the game, and on top of that, the Black Arks act as many horde armies, which teaches new players how those work without throwing them into the deep end with a dedicated horde faction. Despite being an evil faction (always good for new players to get a feel for them too) being surrounded by tons of other Dark Elves still allows Malekith to make full use of diplomacy, up to and including confederations. Honestly, I think Malekith might be my recommendation for a first playthrough.

    • @josephr4761
      @josephr4761 8 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      I agree, Malekith is a fantastic first choice. He was also my first campaign in Warhammer 2. I think the only thing keeping him off the list is the dark elf slavery mechanic. It could be confusing for someone completely new to the series.

    I mostly agree but Tirien ought to be 1 and the rats 10. Skaven are pretty complex and have some big weakness new players won't get. And as he said high elves are just a smooth uncomplicated all rounder for a new player.

    Wish i found this around a week ago. Initially i wanted to try Wurzag or Thorgrim, keeping Tyrion in the back pocket if i was truly out of my league. After the Prologue however i had no idea where to begin other than "Immortal Empires is THE campaign" so i had a friend who has no idea about Warhammer select for me. Began a Normal/Normal difficulty campaign as Heinrich Kemmler of the Vampire Counts.
    It was... well is... an experience. I realized i lack curtail information when a large goblin on a mobility scooter rolled over all my units in the first two attempts. On the third one i told a trespassing army to get lost only for the French to return and stomp me back into the dirt with cavalry. The fourth attempt is still ongoing but i give it 3 turns until the tree man Orion turns me into fertilizer. Honestly i feel like my main problem is the Prologue does not teach you the difference between Province, Region and so on, so my cities are growing way too slow even if i focus on growth, and since i focus on growth i have only the most basic units.
    Still love the game, there is much to learn and i guess it is time for the Tyrion campaign next just so i can ease in to the game more, or to try Wurzag as i wanted initially. Thank you for the recommendations (and all the other videos of yours that i came across)

    • @shorewall
      @shorewall 12 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      My strat is always to build only the first level of the growth building. Higher levels have diminishing returns. And once you get all settlements in province to level 3, replace the growth buildings. It's too slow to get to tier 4 and 5, so you are better off using that building slot for something else.
      Income is the next priority. Build the income building, get as many trade deals as you can, and sack and raid if you can.
      Last point, build the right army for your faction. Some factions are better at rushing down the enemy, like orcs and norsca. Some are better at forming a formation and shooting the enemy to pieces, like Empire, all elves, dwarves, etc.
      I don't know if you still want to play Vampires, but I've had the most success with bunching all my chaff units into a tight blob, hiding my lords and heroes in the middle, and running into the enemy like a bowling ball.
      But the key to Warhammer TW is to pick the faction that you think is interesting. That will encourage you to learn it and keep playing. Wurzag is a lot of fun.

      @@shorewall Thank you for the tips. I have since had time and through what feels like pure luck achieved both Short and Long victory (not sure if Domination is worth going for). I did it by pretty much what you sad blob up the enemy and blow them up with spells.
      What helped me, and why i say luck, was a legendary battle spot that gave me calvary with lances and blood riders way sooner than i could recruit them, meaning i could use them instead of Fell Bats or Dogs for eliminating the back line or harassing the archers.

    You're so right about the Cathay campaigns. It's a minor point, but Zhao's bonuses with Ogres really helps keep that western front secured at first and put some extra, no-harmony beef into your battleline.

    Daniel? Really? I find him as one of the hardest campaign, especially in very hard difficulty.
    Imo, miao ying has an easier campaign than zhao ming. Miao ying may have a more difficult early game, but later her campaign gets so much easier (and boring with no real threat). Zhao ming mid game involve gazzilion invasion from grom and kugath

    Once you are more versed in the game, Khorne is an insane, insanely fun and intense campaign. Same as Ikkit was the best campaign in w2, Skarbrand is the best in w3, with Ikkit following close behind. But you need to know how to play a bit to properly experience the joy of Khorne.

    I think Queek should have gotten the spot for easiest Skaven campaign. -25% upkeep for clanrats and storm vermin. He starts with multiple chieftains. His army has +10% weapon strength when fighting Dwarfs or Greenskins and they're the majority of your early opponents. He only has a deal with a small public order penalty until he takes 8 Peaks, but 8 Peaks is only 2 provinces away from where he starts.

  • @GerritTV187

    When trying the beastmen as a new player i suggest morghur. His campaign is by far the easiest in the early game. Taurox is fine too but maligor and especially khazrak are quite challenging in the early game compared to the others.

  • @zyhgar25
    @zyhgar25 19 วันที่ผ่านมา

    I think miao ying is harder due to the wall defence mechanic and the rat spawning next to you in the IM mode and the beast people roaming about as well, you'll probably have 5 different things to worry about at once.

      Slaneesh kinda fun once you get rolling though.
      Lots of flanking and running high speed instead of the boring shooter build

    • @Aircastegamer
      @Aircastegamer 19 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      @loowick4074 It is not just battles that make slaanesh hard it's also his campaign mechanic where you gotta learn how to seduce other factions and learn how to vassilize In guide video I youtuber made a very good point that slaanesh is more of "defensive" faction because unlike khorne (it's rival chaos faction) you don't have to rely on taking over or razing settlement. Instead, you rely on vassilize factions and cults, as well as seductive machinic to make slaanesh work.
      I will admit tho that was my biggest mistake I did with slaanesh, which is playing as if I was khorne or greenskin Faction. Once I learn how to use the cults and vassilize faction properly it essentially snowball from there.

      @shawnjohnson4732 2 วันที่ผ่านมา

      It’s usually a game of patience. Vampires are great at teaching that. Build up, less out, and only roll out when you are really ready. I’ve gone 100 turns just settling into 3 provinces and the moot. The trick is not to expand until you have an extra army or two to cover what swath you want. Don’t take things at random, always move with a purpose and try to take whole provinces together if you can and then settle in to them.

    Nonono NO‼️
    NEVER put the Difficulty on Easy
    It warps your perception of the game
    I believe Legend made a video about this
    If you learn how to play on easy you can simply autoresolve everything because but the battles will still be harder
    So if a auto resolve says "close victory" on easy it is actually nearly impossibly to win it in a real battle, since the auto resolve is so heavily in your favour
    That's why so many new players don't learn how to play the game and get frustrated because they think that they are simply bad and only use Auto Resolve
    NEVER on easy!!
