The doctors were trying to protect the baby from the dad. Everyone did what they felt like they needed too do.
Except they didn't actually need to shoot him in a place that would kill him on the spot. They could have instead shot him like in the arm in which he was holding the gun, to cause him to drop it and jump out and hold him down.
It's the law of police law enforcement, someone have people hostage with a guy n shots 2 n had 2 life in danger n only care off the baby , girlfriend n him...
He told the All Doctor, if one of them , if girlfriend o the baby died , he will kill everyone . It's a tread ... did the right thing to shot him...

@@catrachaV4 Well, that barely made sense. To clarify, the gunman clearly stated his intention to kill people in the hospital. It's the SWAT officer's duty to stop a threat to life, which he has done brilliantly here. If he just injures him, the gunman could fall but still manage to get the gun and then shoot someone. No chances.

Must say the women outshone the men in this episode. Sharon was a boss, handled the situation well, April doing a procedure she has never done before ,( literally doing a doctor's job), Maggie and Nat did a fantastic job helping Connor. Ava????? Thanks ladies.
She did a good job. She used the baby to lure him into a place where the sniper can shoot him. Sharon did well. Don't know why she bothered trying to place pressure on the wound. That shot was a kill.

The horrible part of this, for Goodwin, is that she knew that the moment that poor, idiot kid got into that sniper's field of fire, he was dead. She let it happen anyway because she had to protect the baby and the girl from him.
She knew what she was doing. She used herself as bait, not just to get the guy into the sniper's line of sight, but also to get his attention off of the others.

A good mother would not tell the baby about the father, just say he died before you were born. If they find out they'll hopefully be old enough to understand why they were lied to but best case scenario is they never find out.

It was his child and she had no right to give up his child without his consent. Whatever happened after she was admitted to the hospital was a direct consequence (albeit messed up) of her making a decision about THEIR child that she had no right to. If she didn’t want the baby that’s fine but she doesn’t get to take away his choice to be a father, if he wanted to take the baby because she didn’t want it that would’ve been his decision.
You can’t takeaway someone’s parental status because they acted a fool. It was always his child, they were about to take part in an illegal adoption, because despite what you believe both parents have to consent and the father wasn’t consenting.
Just to be clear I’m not excusing his bad behavior just pointing out all the lies and deceptions brought it to this point.

With the background of Chicago Med I would not want to go to that hospital. Lie, I go alone if Dr. Will takes care of me. By the way, I do not know about you, but I did not know that Dr. William S. Halsted was an American doctor considered one of the pioneers of modern surgery.
I in general wouldn't want to go to any hospital from TV shows, there's so many random things happening that could kill me. I'd only go there if I had something really serious and TV show hospitals always have all the crazy genius doctors, but for anything routine I'd go somewhere else

Well actually miss Goodwin wasn't a doctor she was a nurse. So she doesn't have the title as being a doctor. Even though well I mean as an administrator she literally does out ranks everyone.
This episode was really good, but damn, it was heart pumping, I was at the Edge of my seat the whole episode.
I know it is a show but the tension buildup was so real I was low key scared for everyone in the episode

See Sharon what I love about this character is that she's a caring person. By looking at this idiot teenage boy. She's thinking about all the desperate people she's come across in her career but she's also thinking about her children. People like him grow up in a very tough environment and I feel like Miss Goodwin actually took pity for him. Of course he blew it all away by simply taking people hostage at gunpoint. Thinking he can escape without even realizing that law enforcement has pretty much surrounded the whole hospital so the chances of escaping is not possible. Yeah he was a complete incompetent psycho dimwit that didn't even think this through.

Of course she would feel some satisfaction and certainly she would afterward too but in that moment, she was fragile already and she just saw someone killed in front of her which I’m guessing she’s not that used to being a regular citizen.
