Striper fishing with bass gear is truly something everyone should try. The rush you when you hook into a monster and all you can do is hold on. Especially when the water cools and they start eating topwater.
I love this segment Matt. It reminded me so much of My Father. I grew up in California and used to fish the river systems in Stockton California. My PB was close to thirty pounds which is huge for a young man. My Father would have loved seeing this! I loved hearing you thank the fish which shows your appreciation to the fish for the fight which is a true fisherman’s way of saying “thanks for the fight… until we meet again!”
Same here John. !! at the time we lived in Newman .dad would fish San Luis Res.. & Delta Mendota by Gustine ,,,.I have black & white pictures of him holding 1 in each hand at chest level with tails touching the floor .... he would luv this ❤ .. foundest memory of fishing with him was about 7 yrd old fishing sloughs in Stevinson dad went to nap in the truck and I took over his rod and showed him up with a 5lb channel cat while he slept he woke up to hoot'n and hollering lol
I'm so glad you enjoyed the video and thank you for taking the time to share your memories! We too have memories of Striper fishing the Delta with family and friends. Fishing reaches far beyond a rod and reel and we're grateful you're a part of the Tactical family 👍🏼
Striper are a lot of fun to fish for. For those that haven't fish them yet, they do not last long out of the water, especially in the heat of summer. Great video!
I love the striper videos! Chasing stripers is probably my most favorite way to fish also! When they are stacked, it's a blast! That's a great evening on the water!
Love the videos bro thanks for all the info. Could you do a new up to date indepth video on how and where to find the stripers. I'm in az on the colorado river and seem to have a hard time finding them
More striper fishing please! Big fish are always more entertaining lol Also, you need to link to the "Shimano SLX A Swimbait Casting Rods" to get to the 7'8" Heavy
Tennessee river is a special place for sure. I target striper on Beaver lake in Arkansas all the time. Its nice to be able to release them but here you can only release when the water temp is 70 or colder, in the summer time they will just fight themselves to death. Ive tried releasing them in the summer but they go belly up 90% of the time. Wish we had that current and oxygenated water like the TN river has.
Great video Matt! Got to love when the sonars show this type of activity! Days like this always mean more to a fisherman when we have a had a few skunked days in the past, You end up forgetting all the skunked days because this ONE day replaces all those skunked days from the season. Truly happy you got to have a day like this. P.s - Still waiting on a new long uncut video :)
Ha! In all seriousness the camera shrinks these fish so bad we have to make up for it. 🤦♂️ 3 of these were right at the 20 lb mark and there was only one dink in the bunch.
Deep water + current = freight train, highway recipe for stripers. I bet your shoulders and biceps were sore. Thanks for sharing such an amazing fishing day with us. Wow! 💪
No doubt that is a ton of fun. Assuming you all have fished for them in the winter on rainy days with Zara Spooks? You know you have the right color spook if it fools the birds. After about 5-7 fish my arms wear out.
My local lake is stocked with some hybrids that are up to 5 - 7 pounds. You'll be out there with ultralight crappie gear and BOOM goes the drag. So much fun but they're always gone by the time I land the first one and grab a more appropriate combo.
Matt, can we at some point have you do a breakdown on striper? I’ve been after these fish for a year now. I just can’t seem to get em. Specifically the freshwater landlocked fish, they’re so different from largemouth.
Seen them yes, and we know someone in the company. But it takes a ton of testing before we're comfortable with a review. One thing is for sure, they're spending a fortune to get those ads in front of everyone 😳
It's right on the verge, I think it could do it pretty comfortably. 👍🏼 We've caught quite a few swimbait fish on it now but haven't had the opportunity for a hudd fish.
@@tacticalbassin awesome, thanks for the reply! When you hooked up with that fish on the burrito it didn’t seem as parabolic as I expected. Looks like a sweet rod for ~$100. Good luck out there and stay safe!
Great video, Gotta know where are these fish coming from I fished for Stripper at the mouth of the Chesapeake Bay when I was a kid and was near drug overboard. Best fishing memory in my history. Hard to imagine these are a landlocked strippers. Hate to say it But these are great eating.
Awesome video Matt! Reminds me of fishing the Colorado River for giant striper! Hows the 7'5 KS II Halo rod, do you think it would be a good frog/arig rod???
Which Halo rod were you using? I just bought 4 new Halo HFX rods to replace some older rods. I for one would like to see video with your opinion of those rods.
What where your guys thoughts on the slx swimbait rod? Debating about picking up ethier the bass x swimbait rod, doybns furry or the slx. I'm wondering which one should I get? I can get the bass x rods easily dobyns and the slx I have to order from tw.
All I’m saying is that was absolutely Awesome!!! Man I’ve got to get down on the river, I’ve been wanting to go small mouth fishing but after watching you I’d love to go stripping. Just awesome thanks for the video
Matt out there just casually catching river monsters! 🐉🎣
In the middle of traffic 😁👍🎣
That’s awesome! Please do more of these striper videos, I do striper fishing & I love to see these & what you guys use
Striper fishing with bass gear is truly something everyone should try. The rush you when you hook into a monster and all you can do is hold on. Especially when the water cools and they start eating topwater.
Would like to see how you guys maintain all your reels. How you clean and keep them buttery smooth.
me too 👍
SOOOOO FUN!!!
lol they don’t they just own 27 of each 😂
@@andrewwolf4963 That's why they use Shimano. My Curados run like new 5 years later.
I've never seen a more impressive striper fishing video. And in the middle of traffic... The last thing I'm thinking about is the reel.
"I'm afraid to throw it out there 'cause one of 'em's gonna eat it." Said no one ever! 🤣🤣🤣 Man that looks fun! Thanks Matt.

More of these videos please!! Soo much fun watching you slay fish!
I cannot overstate how much I enjoy watching/learning from you Matt!!
Thank you Terry!
It would make me incredibly happy if you did a series on striper

YEP! You “Got’em!” And “Got’em” and “Got’em!” Killer time on the water! Thanks for sharing myFat Fin Friends!
Hook em, Net em, Unhook em then show em off. Nice video!!
Wow! That was fun to watch. Can’t imagine what it would be like to have been there! Awesome! Ordering the swim bait rod for sure!
Love the Striper content. I would kill for a day like that. Thanks for this.

Matt, that was an awesome video! Thanks for bringing us along! 👍🏼 Those stripers were really stacked and feeding!!
Thanks Dan! It was a blast, I hope you enjoyed coming along!

Grand Slam!! 🔥🔥 love the Striper fishing more striper vids please
Finally a new striper video. 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
I bet Tim was out there the same week, if not next morning! Haha So much fun!!! Good as it gets.

Morning inspiration before I go fishing
Wow. Most fun video I’ve seen in a while. Could you please do a video talking about where to find these

You're not wrong! They will flat wear you out!!

Goodmorning guys ! Have a great day as always keep up the great content
Thanks Rob!!
What size hook is in that blade runner head? Also does the hook size change with the weight of the heads?
@TacticalBassin you caught some tank stripers brother 😃👍
You guys have to come east to Connecticut for some salt water stripers!
Hey Matt can I use a medium heavy fast action spinning rod on stripers brother?
On the screen grab where Is that in correlation with your boat? Right under, behind or in front? I'm still figuring graphs out..ty
Under.
striper fishing is great in the cali delta right now too
Awesome!!
Looks like you get a lot of fish there, im lucky if I even get one fish a day from a river close to me.
My local lake is stocked with some hybrids that are up to 5 - 7 pounds. You'll be out there with ultralight crappie gear and BOOM goes the drag. So much fun but they're always gone by the time I land the first one and grab a more appropriate combo.
😱😱. Giant slayer!!!!!
Awesome video ! The only that could possibly make it better is if they were on top water!, that would be insane

Question?
I keep seeing ads for " Trika " fishing rods.. have you seen them and can you do a review..
Seen them yes, and we know someone in the company. But it takes a ton of testing before we're comfortable with a review. One thing is for sure, they're spending a fortune to get those ads in front of everyone 😳
Are you fishing Chickamauga or below the damn?
Who needs the gym when you can fish stripers!
Right?!?!
Great show to watch it looks like fun that the way to catch rock fish on bass tackle bassmd
It's a blast! Thanks for coming along!
Would the SLX swimbait rod be good for 8” huddlestons?

Welcome to the East Coast!! I used to live by the Hudson River they're huge on this side.
I live in ny and fish them in the spring when they come up the Hudson and summer and fall in the li sound or out of montauk!
I live in ny and fish them in the spring when they come up the Hudson and summer and fall in the li sound or out of montauk!
Do you not have to fizz the air bladder of a striper when pulling them from 50 feet?
If you send them back quickly you're okay but if you keep them up for than a few seconds you'll have problems.
Great video, Gotta know where are these fish coming from I fished for Stripper at the mouth of the Chesapeake Bay when I was a kid and was near drug overboard. Best fishing memory in my history. Hard to imagine these are a landlocked strippers. Hate to say it But these are great eating.
What about a review on the top travel rods, telescopic, and 2,3, and 4piece rods for those always on the go or need something easy to carry
We've done it 👍🏼 "search "tacticalbassin travel" and something should come up.
Do a white bass, yellow bass, wiper, and rock bass video :)
That was fun
Do striped bass spawn in early fall too?
Awesome video Matt! Reminds me of fishing the Colorado River for giant striper! Hows the 7'5 KS II Halo rod, do you think it would be a good frog/arig rod???
It could work well for both. I personally throw a slightly shorter pool cue (Expride 7'3" XH) for a frog but this 7'5" could definitely set it.
Have you guys caught any large flathead cats as by catch yet? That's a blast too!!
No giants but a handful of small to midsized flatties.
Which Halo rod were you using? I just bought 4 new Halo HFX rods to replace some older rods. I for one would like to see video with your opinion of those rods.
KS II Elite 7'5"

Looks like you stay in the same spot the entire time, right?
Wonder if scented bait would add to bites
Thats a great question
All that fish he could have in a fryer. I’d be keepin em
Man... casually catching big stripers while back here on the west coast it's tough getting keepers but giants? Rarely 😅
Beside the heavy line used. Those big striper doesn't seem to fight that hard/long. Editing?
We will catch them like that and smoke them on the grill. Great video
You should try 2 to4 inch shad on lake texhoma if you get fresh shad and find the striper you be there all day caching giants
Why do Stripers look different than other bass on imaging?
Where is this ? California delta ?

I've been meaning to do this very thing on Cumberland & keep putting it off. I'm not putting it off anymore. lol
I have something about a fishing package from @tacticalbassin. Is this Legit? Thanks
No it is spam! Thank you. It on a lot of the channels right now. It’s so frustrating
Thought so. Thanks
Did Matt say where he was fishing
I love fishing for stripper but I can never find them. They are not predictable like bass. You should do a video of how to find stripped bass.
They are very predictable but also very mobile. When you're on them it's amazing but they can be gone tomorrow... or 5 minutes from now.
What body of water??
13:16
"Too much fun" indeed.
Time of your life!!!
How am I supposed to sleep after watching this? It was the burrito fish that did me in...
Ha! Sorry Luke!
We were in 50 feet in the long island sound and they were so stacked up we showed only 15 ft deep
"They're getting bigger!"
Your hands have to be tore up! Catching that many big striper will give you bass palm 😂
Bass palm for sure! Reach in there too far to get a bait out and you're liable to end up with bass wrist 😂
Hello
I’d be mad if you took my burrito 🌯 too .
😂😂😂
Can’t imagine why anyone would fish for Largemouth if there are strippers around! Even a 2 lb striper will fight harder than a much larger largie.
Stripers are silver drum
No need to fizz fish?
No need to fizz if you handle them quickly. If you kept them up longer than a picture and release you'd have to fizz every one of them.
That spot is busted by now. Lol!
Sacramento Delta who?
