- It seems like it is time for a post destiny maplestory class tier list! This list is based on my own opinion of every class and I base my ranking on a class's grinding, bossing and how difficult they are to play. So this is not based on any dpm list just on my own experience with playing all classes.

I've just returned to Maplestory SEA back last week, and watching all these new things from you. I, thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping me understand the game I once held dear and would like to re-experience the good ol' MMORPG back in the days where I can be a child.

11:45 Dawn warrior actually got massive damage improvements from the destiny patch; they got 10% more final damage for free as a passive. Their main bossing skill Rift of Damnation got a 15% reduced action delay (which is huge for dawn warrior) + it now scales with their styx trinode in 5th job. Overall the class actually saw roughly a 20-30% FD boost from the destiny patch! My 40sec BA went from ~22b to 31.3b.

Can confirm as well. Before Destiny I was doing 6.5TBA then all of a sudden after Destiny my BA jumped too 10T
and that's after losing 2 event stats, sheesh.

The only surprising thing that I find was that Marksman is so much better than I expected. With everything else, I agree!
As a Kinesis main (currently), I agree with the A grade you gave him, although I believe he does excel at mobbing after V, with his psychic bullet. But it's not enough to put him at S grade, because his bossing requires more funding and is high effort but not so high reward. Thanks for the tier list!
yeah its really blows that you NEED dsi and greenpot in order to not get stuck in psychic grab animation when bossing.
after the ignition update we have less things to manage in boss which is good, but still, PP is always a little annoying to manage in bossing :x

As someone with 6 bossing mules up to Lomien, Jett is 100% A or S class, even after Destiny. Bossing is so smooth that you won't even need s because of the insane mobility
damn for real? i've always heard that jett's are trash with all due respect, that's all i've always heard but i've never played it myself so i can't tell for sure honestly

Well it probably feels good because you’re probably over 8k legion and have lv3 link skills. A new player playing Jett will suffer tremendously and struggle with even mobbing past 200. Classes like I/L are insanely good mobber stepping into 4th job vs where Jett has to struggle. That’s the diff between S tier and C tier.
Also any class after 250 is most likely nuts. NL burst at 250 can burst lomien in one cd. (Hell I’ve seen a 260 NL burst chaos dusk to 40% in one cd timers) Pally level 250 legit hits like a freight train and does not take a single point of dmg. Hayato being super mobile and spamming 5th job skills. Etc etc. even blaster has one of the higher dpms even now and is at C tier but at 250 they probably do as much as a f/p

you can animation cancel by just pressing "skill > attack button > skill" without pursuit which is way easier
also their mobbing gets easier (on the hands) when you're funded (your summons and auto attack one hits everything)
i've played page/wk from 05 after i found KMS video's with Paladin's cleaning house on boss raids. been in love ever since. this update feels like it could be the paladin redepmtion arc
I Love how the dynamics of the game change completely if you're funded. Like Night Lord, his skill hit 8 mobs I think, but if you have marks one hit killing you can actually kill like 17 or 18 mobs per hit. Kinesis is another one, that skill when you press psy grab + up arrow can kill the entire map, and you can spam it.

Super new to this, is the game super pay to play or what? I honestly don't know much about the game, but funding seems to be a major point of discussion in this community.
I don't know which one's technically the best, but I do like mobbing with Lara. You just skip around and activate veins that do all the work for you. Water vein feels weak compared to the other two, but it's not painfully weak or anything. It just doesn't have the huge vertical reach of wind or the instant activation of fire.
I remember getting Aran as my first 210 and loving it. But the range was such a big problem for me so I switched to Angelic Buster which I have at 251 now
definitely agree with the auto things. avenger swords, evans debris etc. its just so annoying to constantly have to recast it every 3-4 seconds while you got revamped classes that just have a on/off toggle like bats stars and etc
Shields also do like x10 the damage of bats/stars. And attack 10times instead of the usual 2-3. I don’t think they could ever make them a toggle with the current numbers.
Also as a DA main I don’t want them to make it a toggle, it’s the only thing that we really have to micro manage and without it DA basically becomes just as easy to play as Shade..
im pretty sure evan mains do not want their debris to be automatic. Debris has one job and one job only (charging radiance). If you make it auto, it would negatively effect its ability to do that one job. That being said, i think everything should have the option to be auto (via right clicking it like ark’s spell bullets). There’s some use cases where im sure people like the manual control like shadower’s mesos for mobbing.
Doesn’t take a genius to alter skills to make room for qol
@@mZStarCraft ppl who don't play the class thinking toggle would magically fix everything for shields is hilarious. The idle time and inconsistent tracking range would still persist so the toggle would fix almost nothing that actually matters, especially considering seasoned DA mains don't miss their shield casts so it wouldn't even be a noticeable qol for them. I swear It's always the non mains complaining about shield management.

Cardkun here enjoying every second
as an Evan main it is almost a chore to maintain your fusion skills and you just rely on SO much for high damage output. Their bossing pretty damn good, but post-destiny their mobility is definitely a much appreciated change as well as bit of damage boosts to a couple of their nodes, mainly radiance and wyrm king breath.
They also do not have a ton of skills that passively or actively boost their damage which is the fusion skills are so important them. I still haven't even gotten used to animation cancelling. Definitely a class with a steep learning curve (not as bad as Cadena from what I heard though).
I hope we can get a Heroes Revamp one day, especially since Phantom is and will forever be one of my favorite characters. It hurts to see how far he fell off, there were even times where they straight up left their Skills buggy with missing and extra SP.
On a side note, I would love to see the Hero stories updated like with Voice Acting. And uhh, if they need an English VA for Evan... I may know someone who did their voice in a fandub 👀
Doesn't Evan already have an English VA? I do kinda wish they had a English VA for Mir though, I remember grinding him out and thought it was super weird for him to keep talking to Mir, only for Mir to be completely silent.
To be honest I thought the Cygnus Knight revamp/remaster was really out of place given that there are plenty of classes that are even older than the original Cygnus Knight revamp, and outside of Blaze Wizard, none of them really needed a revamp, just some numbers changes. The later heroes classes and early nova classes could really get some attention, since all of them are feeling fairly clunky and out of place now.
With how the cygnus remaster turned out, I'm kind of afraid of a Heroes revamp. There is a reason why the Heroes have the oldest, non-revamped jobs (Merc onwards) but still deeply loved to this day. Resistance needs it more than us honestly.
I'm also primarily afraid of how they'll mess up the story. Tons of opportunities to create loopholes there if they end up touching the lore.
Just play phantom if you want to, these takes are pretty bad
i enjoy the variety of classes in maplestory but also because of the legion/link skill gameplay loop the frustration of certain classes requiring way more practice (mercedes, cadena, for instance) becomes waaaaaay harsher. like i love cadena and merc but they aren't for everyone, but leveling merc is like 100% essential for progressing your character because of her link skill being so strong.

14:25 I SAID THE SAME THING. If phantom could get shadow partner I think he would still be pretty balanced. Also Phantom is the only thief class to not have a form of shadow partner.

As a former Phantom main, I understand and agree with all the problems, but I will always be sad whenever he's called terrible ;_; The badass Legendary Phantom needs some proper love by the devs. The fact that he's in the same tier as Jett is absolutely atrocious.
You can only hope for heroes' remastered or revamp for other 3 heroes to be revamp like aran n evan be4

I’m actually a phantom main. Really does feel weaker than the rest but still the coolest IMO!
Shade doesn't really need funding. I'm a fundless Shade and my damage output is pretty high. The class has a tempo that you need to figure out to maximize damage output. A rhythm to playing that's not really considered, but makes a huge difference.
Can we just appreciate the small witty jokes he throws here and there with not forgetting shade or oof phantom.

Hi Coppersan! I always watch the vids and my wife and I would like to return to Maple after a long hiatus! I was wondering can we come back to MapleStory as casual maplers with minimum spending (I don't mind spending +/- $50/week or so. Just didn't want to go crazy.) I'm kind of daunted by cubing to do higher level content, tbh.
giving mech's missles auto mode would do alot more harm then good for them. the missles can fire extremely fast and require no attack speed upgrades and their damage output is solid. the missles are the real main attacking skills mechs have,not the AP/salvo, and the moment they're treated as such the better the gameplay becomes. by giving auto mode it would just bind their firing speed to the AP/salvos, and that would simply nerf the HELL out of them
Any class is viable, even Phantom.
Viable Phantom: Level 210 hunting level 172-174 mobs.
at level 250 they can finally train at Twilight perion
lmao phantom is actually very good atm, oneshotting mobs is not even a parameter for job balance, any class can easily kill a arcane river mob with minimal funding
When i started kaiser 6 years ago, the combo mechanics was the best cause starting a new account and not having other characters to depend on for mesos/ potions, that was the go to heal yourself and not use potions, but of course it got nexon'd, they did kaiser dirty
It's bizzare days to see every single warrior, mage, pirate and thief classes including special ones like dual blade to be occupying the very top tier
Kinda makes sense that you gotta be “high” enough to use Mercedes “leaf” tornado
Other than burning and reboot, what server would be the better in your opinion, I see tho reboot is very full tho
What other changes are Demon Avenger receiving in the future? The ones they got in Destiny are pretty nice, but those other changes the vid mentioned intrigued me.
More buffs, specially to bossing. Currently in KMS they’re easily a top 5 bosser

Battle Mage is genuinely one of the most well balanced classes in the game. Easily doable solo and they provide tons of party boosts. They have arguably the best 5th job skills in the game. A tier at worst.

As a Phantom main since his release. I'm sad he isnt getting as much love as most other classes. Not being able to steal shadow partner is understandable but would be amazing. Shadow Partner combined with Chain lightning would be fun. Or just locking it to theif skills would make showdown a better skill to steal.
Or 35% final damage shadow partner that works for all spells instead of 70% as standard is also good.
The only issue with having Shadow Partner would be that it basically becomes required meta for Phantom no matter how you cut it. Nerfed dmg, nerfed skill compatibility, etc would still make it meta.
stop, don’t do that. The community does what you just did too often and it’s why nexon does what they do. No, it isn’t understandable. First of all it’s a PVE game. Second of all, phantom is far from OP, stealing SP might would help alot.

As a Phantom main who usually can out-DPS every one in my bossing parties, I think it's probably deserving of a higher rank.... Cross Surge + Final Cut and 100% crit rate + Carte Noir make for excellent damage output while bossing, and can swap Final Cut for Lightning Chain or Cannon Barrage (whatever the skills are called) for great mobbing potential.
as an ex phantom main can agree its super underrated. considering phantom has so much mobility + s they can easily stick to a boss making their damage uptime insane. not to mention phantom skill stealing is very handy for adaptability
@@lumishape2771 plus the damage burst potential is insane, stacking a bunch of damage multipliers and unleashing a flurry of cards. At 253 I can easily burst CRA, Hmag, etc.

I don't know how I ended up on this video. I played MS in 2007-2009ish and had a Bucaneer level 142. I'm seriously considering trying it out again during spare time

Since I switched from Luminous to NL as main, I can only say mobbing is actually fun now with bigger hitboxes with NL

Hi there! Last I played the game was in 2017 and I was not playing on classic but the new servers where you cannot trade. I was also fighting magnus at that time because I think he was the endgame boss? May I please ask what has changed? I really want to play this game again but I’m intimidated because I have no idea what anything is anymore

Ngl after playing phantom for the link skill while not unplayable it's a close thing.
Some of the B tiers are down there because they are too much effort for too little reward/damage.
i'm just glad Mercedes got a damage boost from Destiny :D

Bowmaster will always be the comfy grinder once kitted out fully at 5th job. I will always suggest this with Bowmaster:
Do not expect a lot, nothing too flashy. But work with it like playing a new instrument. By the time you get to 5th job, unlock enough node slots for the fully kit? It's a symphony within itself. :D

@@AidedStunBreak its not. No UA is worth the time unless they revamp it. BM is nice but I was really hoping they would give us a whole new mobbing skill in destiny. Arrow stream is a huge turn off. Bring back arrow rain.

Just moved from KMS. Who should I burn in reboot GMS. Im thinking of warrior classes and dual blade?
Im considering playing on reboot, and i cant decide between Ark and Pathfinder. Who has better mobbing?
Former Xenon main here. Xenon is one of the best mobbers in the game, and when i say the one of the best i mean like top 5. i guess without frenzie it might not be as good. It requires a lot less funding than many classes to be a good mobber, but it's also a very active mobber for it's best rates.
It's bossing is pretty decent, has 2 i-frames, class bind, loaded dice gets both thief and pirate 5th job skills. with the 5th job skills i agree photon ray is pretty bad, but fusion field and omega blaster are amazing. Core overload is a crazy good buff, but it's a bit inconvinient unless you use it as you start charging omegablaster. Xenon is a very underrated class.
Cries in Phantom... also yeah shadow partner would single handedly bring Phantom into S-tier.
For Bowmasters, once your arrow turret one shots everything on the map, mobbing gets a lot easier
So by that, you mean it requires more funding before it can do that? That's kinda sad. A lot of the other class doesn't need as much when I played it...
It'd really cool to see Zero in A rank. In korea, he's basically one of the lowest C ranks.
It's also really sad for me to say this as someone who loves Zero.

Phantom is actually pretty good in reboot because of the fd boost. Im having 400%+ fd during burst, only from self buffs.

Mihile is easy A or S tier now. Basically invincible and damage was improved.
jett is a real class now, its honestly stupid to put them in c. their mobbing and bossing are fine, bossing is actually pretty solid

I do think youre underrating phantom. with decent legion and links his potential is crazy. his mobbing is lacking but hes the only class that can actually almost reach their potential max damage output during boss fights

Can someone help me out! How many Tera burning characters can we have during this event? Currently reached level 200 on Adele and received a Tera burning effect which can be used on another character…so if I use that on say dual blade & reach level 200 do I get another and so forth?
You get three total. You get one creating a character, one from getting level 200 and receiving it, and one from the explorer revamp event quest(I think that's what it was?) that you can receive any time and transfer to a different character through storage.

Just give Kaiser much needed buffs and just give them perm transformation once 5th job is hit… I mean we all play Kaiser for the sexy transformation anyways :X, but yeah get rid of the combo system too.
Bro I've beeen waiting for so long now for them to "modernize" Kaiser. That blue hurricane should pop up automatically. Perma transformation after 5th job and the blade burst(?) the 4th job mobbing one, should have a bigger hitbox. That's enough I think.

Seriously I never thought Bishop would be in S tiers, but is my main now so I know how Coppersan felt after playing it since destiny update.
It's a healing class it's to be expected, name me any mmo's that doesn't have a healing class as a top class

wild hunters are fun but holy moly they cannot kill lucid. half their damage is locked behind a debuff mechanic that also relies on cooldowns. On singular bosses that is fine. on the constant barrage of golems, it's impossible!

Basically now the explorers are almost all s tier, just bow master out for the mobbing and pathfinder that didn't get a remaster.

Don't let this video dissuade you those are both still amazing classes, this video is HIS opinion from his experience with them he can technically be OBJECTIVELY wrong play whatever you want. As for DB is good but I personally job changed to shadower as it kinda has better mobbing, better dps and a new updated kit whereas DB mobbing is meh alot more relaxed and AFK but they just got dmg buffed better burst but no updated skills besides larger AOE, level 200+ is spamming 1 skill and every 15s spamming your 5th job skills off cd.

True. I've always liked Archer playstyle. Just DPS from afar. However, with the recent changes, I'm thinking of getting DB due to it being reliable for bossing. DB has a hard time mobbing, I hear compare to its peers. I'm probably going for Kaine either way, just because it is an Archer class. I've played all of the Archer class except Marksman, because aesthetically, it is the most unpleasing to me, after that it is Bowmasters. Pathfinder are the newest Archers after all. I'll give them more consideration.
I do want to get a good bossing unit to farm for Meso in Maple SEA since everything there is insanely expensive...
237 db here its overrated. Shadower looks fun af im thinking of rerolling shadower or corsair.
They shouldn't let region-specific classes be created if they're not going to bother with balancing or updating them. It shows no respect for the players who choose to main play those classes because they enjoy them.

Sorry but Hayato must be on the S tier, and Kaiser must be between A and S, point is, Hayato has regen for every critical damage deal, make bossing is like having a fake BOD which your HP is almost always full, but ofcourse Shensoku is stronger than Phantom as well as triggering final attack with high damage, low funding can still reach to more than 10m range with full Iaijutsu phantom blade buff, 2 s, and FMA is 99% up time for lazy and relax grinding. As for Kaiser, most of the problem that is mostly about tempest blade and nova guardian targetting has been fixed, they will focus on the boss monster to deal the maximum damage, so why it's on the lower tier, we were always above average.
